Daisy May Cooper Reveals Real Name in Throwback Photo for Son Benji’s Birthday

Daisy May Cooper stunned fans as she revealed her legal name, while sharing a throwback snap to celebrate her son’s first birthday.

The actress, 38, took to her Instagram Stories on Friday to mark it being a year since she and partner Anthony Huggins welcomed son, Benji, by sharing a photo of her hospital chart from the birth.

Over the top, she penned: ‘1 year ago today at 03.04am we welcomed our baby boy into the world’.

But as well as listing the medical details, timings and staff, the photo revealed that the comedian was legally called Daisy May Weston, not Cooper as fans know her.

Weston is the surname of her ex-husband Will, with it appeared that Daisy has retained the legal name despite their split four years ago.

Daisy and Will were married from September 2019 to July 2021 and share two children together, daughter Pip, seven, and son Jack, four.

Daisy admitted their relationship hadn’t been working for around three years, but they only split shortly after Jack was born, after she read about a woman who felt as if she had become ‘trapped’ by marriage.

Speaking about their split in 2022, the This Country star gushed that Will is ‘amazing’ and an ‘incredible’ father but admitted lockdown ‘shone a spotlight’ on their marital difficulties.

She explained how they both realised that ‘there wasn’t real love there’ and that they had felt pressure to get married and settle down once they reached their thirties.

While becoming friends with Selin Hizli, an old adversary from drama school, made her realise she needed to leave her marriage as their platonic love for each other helped Daisy to realise what ‘real love’ was and that ‘life’s too short’ not to be happy.

Following their split, Daisy briefly dated Ryan Weymouth, but the pair parted ways in May 2022 after a whirlwind five-month romance.

She went on to find love with current partner, Anthony, who she met on the dating app Hinge.

A DJ on the Bristol night scene who plays club shows under the moniker Fuse One, Anthony also has two children from a previous relationship.

The couple welcomed their son Benji in June last year, but went through a ‘scary time’ as their little boy was born seven weeks premature.

Announcing his birth at the time, Daisy shared a heartbreaking video of her being pushed by a nurse into the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, where she broke down in tears when she saw her little one.

The mother-of-three was seen crying ‘hi bubba’ as she reached into his incubator to touch him, and captioned the clip: ‘You came a bit earlier than we expected and gave me the worst post op constipation that I nearly had to phone the Samaratins but my God you are perfect.

‘I cannot thank @deliverysuitegrh enough. The way you looked after us through such a scary time was above and beyond. You are all bloody superstars. I am so blessed. Welcome to the world little Benji, ya nutter Born 06/06/24.’

Despite Benji making a full recovery, Daisy has admitted the ‘terrible and scary’ childbirth experience has made her not want any more children.

She told Closer in October: ‘No way. Oh my God, it was terrible. It was so scary having him seven weeks premature.

‘I don’t think I’ve quite processed it. It’s one of those things that five years down the line I’ll think… “F***, how did we get through that?”‘

The TV star admitted that the little one is ‘fine now’ but jokingly called him a ‘miserable b******’.

Meanwhile, she has sparked engagement rumours with Anthony, after flashing a glitzy diamond ring during a loved-up outing together in March.

Daisy wore the ring on her wedding ringer, underneath where she got the name of her ex-boyfriend Ryan tattooed, before covering it up with a new floral inking.

She also appeared to let slip the news in a post on Instagram Stories, where she referred to Anthony as ‘her fiancé’.

In a video promoting her BBC series Am I Being Unreasonable?, Daisy told fans her ‘fit fiancé and baby daddy’ Anthony would make a cameo in the show.

While in February, sources revealed the couple had taken the next step in their relationship and are set to tie the knot after secretly getting engaged.

An insider told The Sun: ‘Daisy and Anthony are madly in love with each other and are a success story for dating apps.

‘Their relationship has gone from strength to strength and already have a baby boy together.

‘It felt the natural step for them both, and their friends and family are made up for them.’
