Daisy May Cooper has spoken out about her sobriety journey after giving up alcohol following time in rehab.
The actress, 37, revealed she was suicidal before meeting her new partner Ant, following the breakdown of her two-year marriage with ex Will Weston.
Daisy told Fabulous magazine: ‘Going to rehab was the best thing I did. ‘I just felt really lost and said to my agent: “I need a break from everything.”
‘So I went there and now I want to write a film about it, because it was extraordinary.
‘Addicts are some of the most interesting, funny, smart, creative and loving people I’ve met in my life.’

Daisy, who has had a dramatic weight loss journey since giving up booze, explained she would drink to feel less ‘anxious’ in social situations.
She added: ‘But I’d get such crippling hangover anxiety, I’d feel suicidal the next day.’
Daisy said giving up alcohol meant she could spend more quality time with her children Jack and Pip, who she shared with ex Will.
The This Country star credited her new man Ant from Bristol for being ‘the sweetest, kindest, most chilled-out man’ she had ever met.
Daisy and Ant, who now live together, went public with their romance at the BAFTA TV Awards, where they shared a passionate kiss.
The boyfriend is understood to be a Bristol based artist, and friends claim the actress has fallen head-over-heels in love.
A source told The Sun at the time: ‘Daisy is head over heels with her new man and has really enjoyed getting to know him away from the spotlight.
‘Most of the time they lead a very ordinary life together and left fans gobsmacked when they showed up at boot sale together recently.

The actress – who was snapped flaunting her trimmed down frame at a Legoland launch event in October – went on the keto (low carb, high fat) diet to slim down after lockdown.
However, she confessed she has since been flooded with messages telling her that she’s ‘no longer funny’ since changing her appearance.
Discussing her appearance, the mother-of-two said: ‘I’m so for body positivity but when I was at my biggest I was at my most miserable and I had a massive food addiction.’

Daisy – who split from husband Will Weston in July 2021 after nearly two years of marriage – went on, ‘I wasn’t healthy. I couldn’t breathe when I was walking up the stairs. I was so unhappy.
‘And I’ve had some messages like, “Well, now you’ve lost the weight you’re not funny any more.”
‘What the f**k? Why do women have to be f**king fat to be funny?
‘That makes me so angry. I champion anybody. I think everybody should be happy with their body. But I wasn’t.’
