Daisy and Phoebe Tomlinson on Growing Up with Louis and One Direction Fans Outside Their Home

Daisy and Phoebe Tomlinson recalled how One Direction fans would ‘gather outside their house’ as they discussed growing up in the limelight with their brother Louis.

Louis, found fame on The X Factor back in 2010 alongside bandmates Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Niall Horan and Zayn Malik and was catapulted to overnight success.

Speaking on their new podcast, Tea With The Twins, Daisy and Phoebe, 21, revealed how his sudden fame effected their childhood as they suffered with invasions of privacy.

Daisy explained: ’I think it was after X Factor when people would sit on our front garden.

‘Just just loads and loads and loads of young girls which looking back now I think it’s quite a little bit like invasion of privacy.’

‘I just couldn’t understand why everyone was so besotted by this guy. He’s just a normal human being and they were fascinated.’

Phoebe added: ‘It’s weird like even the like the amount of stuff that we see him do, all this crazy stuff

‘He is lovely. He is, but he acts like the the most normal person. So, you actually forget.’

Daisy admitted that as the band took off Louis’ intense tour schedule meant they would very rarely see their brother.

She said: ‘In the in the One Direction days, we would see him like four times a year. Not a lot. It was crazy.

‘Like Christmas, he would always come back. But, we went years without seeing him on our birthday.’

The twins, who were jus six-years-old when One Direction first formed, admitted how they took their unique situation ‘for granted’ as they travelled with the band but were too young to fully understand it.

Daisy explained: ‘You don’t have the mindset to sit and stop and and like process what’s going on. I think if this happened now, it’d just be such a different situation.

‘I just would appreciate all the places we went and the experiences we had. We went to so many different places that we would never have gone to if he had a normal job.’

Speaking to Capital FM, ahead of performing the Jingle Bell Ball next month, the singer revealed singing the track has always ‘felt like a challenge’.

A fan asked, ‘Louis, I love you and all your songs, obviously. But I need to know, what’s the one song you hate/hated performing?’

He replied: ‘The thing is with the irony of this game, like I am an open book. I will just give you every answer!

‘So, maybe some people wouldn’t answer this, but I’m not sure there’s a single time I performed One Direction’s What Makes You Beautiful and enjoyed it.

‘That was felt like a bit of a challenge. So, yeah.’
