Crystal Hefner, the final wife of Playboy founder Hugh Hefner, has revealed that she used to ‘find girls’ for sex orgies with herself and the late magazine mogul during their marriage.
Lifting the lid on the sordid reality of life at the Playboy Mansion in her new memoir titled Only Say Good Things, the 37-year-old described how her late husband liked to have ‘at least five girls’ at the same time when they would get intimate in the bedroom.
In a candid recollection about the experience, the former Playmate admitted that it had been a ‘relief’ to recruit other women so that she would not have to be ‘sexual with him all alone.’
The pin-up, who wed the magazine publisher when she was 26 and he was 86 in 2012, wrote: ‘After the twins [Kristina and Karissa Shannon] were gone, it became my job to help find girls to come up to the bedroom at parties at the mansion, or on an increasingly rare night out.
‘It was a big part of the reason we still went out at all: for Hef to find fresh girls.’

She continued: ‘Sometimes Hef would point someone out. Other times, I picked. He liked to have at least five girls, and I knew what he liked. It was actually a relief to have other women up in the bedroom with me, to not have to be sexual with him all alone. If these other girls were doing it, then I didn’t have to.
‘And there were always so many girls eager for a turn in Hugh Hefner’s bed, sidling up to me at every party, desperate to be picked. I felt torn – part of me wanted to turn them down for their own good. But I also knew it was going to be someone coming up, so it might as well be someone who really wanted to go.

‘I trusted that as adults they were making their own decisions about their bodies, but I also felt a responsibility to make the whole experience exciting for them. Or if not exciting then at least not so awkward. ‘
Crystal admitted that she would ensure that the women she recruited would know that they couldn’t take her place, as she continued: ‘Sometimes they would try to stick around, hanging on Hef and sucking up to him. There seemed to be an endless stream of women desperate to get into the mansion; it never slowed down.
‘And it solidified the feeling even more that I couldn’t possibly walk away. The more other people wanted what I had, the tighter I clung to it. When somebody stuck around for any length of time, I’d try to find out what they wanted. Girlfriend? Playmate? What?
‘It got to the point where I’d ask them, point blank. Surprised, they’d answer. “Uh, Playmate,” said one very young-looking girl named Talia.’
The model, who was married to Hugh until his death at the age of 91 in 2017, made it clear that she did not enjoy the group sex encounters with her husband and the other women.
She wrote: ‘Here I was in the Playboy Mansion, in Hugh Hefner’s bed with Hugh Hefner inside me, beautiful naked women surrounding me, and there was nothing sexy about it.

‘This wasn’t about making love. It was about power and control and leverage. It was a performance. I was auditioning for a part. I thought it was about my power.
‘And with Madonna still singing in the background, [another Playmate] Amber pulling out sex toys from the cabinet behind the bed, I gritted my teeth and surrendered to the task at hand. The twins had quietly slipped away, leaving us to do the job they clearly didn’t want to do.’
She continued: ‘So Amber and I pretended, like women have done in every porn movie ever made. Our job tonight was to make Hugh Hefner feel like he was the man.
‘This was his fantasy, and our only job was to reassure him that this was everything we ever wanted or needed, that this was our fantasy, too, that this scene was every woman’s fantasy.
‘Amber and I pretended to use the sex toys on each other. I moaned harder and louder. Hugh Hefner smiled.

‘After a while he was just done, no climax, just done. Suddenly he waved us off of him, almost pushing us to the side….’
Crystal continued that he would ‘finish the job’ by himself and as his face ‘contorted as if he was in pain,’ she ‘panicked’ that he was ‘having some kind of eighty-one-year-old-man attack,’ but he was okay.
‘It was the strangest five seconds of my life. He gave us each a little pat on the shoulder. “You can stay the night in here if you want to, and you’re welcome to spend the weekend with me and my babies,”‘ she wrote.
In the book, Crystal shares more details about living at the Playboy Mansion – famously populated by Playboy ‘bunnies’ hand-picked by Hugh himself – including how her husband had a ‘cruel streak,’ and had been addicted to Viagra and painkillers.
Hugh passed away aged 91 in 2017 as a result of heart failure and septicemia after contracting a deadly strain of e-coli, leaving a reported $43 million fortune.
