Tom Cruise looked concerned as he arrived at Battersea heliport on Thursday.
The actor, 62, who is in the midst of filming Mission Impossible 8, faces an anxious wait to find out if his luxury penthouse in Florida Clearwater has been damaged by Hurricane Milton.
The terrifying tempest pounded the Sunshine State with ‘catastrophic’ 120mph winds and flooding, which have so far killed at least two people and left more than two million people without power.
Florida, one of the most popular holiday destinations in the USA for sun-seeking Brits, was turned into a hellscape overnight as the hurricane spawned deadly tornadoes that leveled more than 100 homes in St. Lucie County.
Millions of terrified Floridians evacuated as the storm roared in, bringing devastation to the likes of Tampa, where flash flooding ripped through the bay, as it was drenched by up to 16 inches of rainfall.

Officials are warning that those choosing to stay and ride out Hurricane Milton would be left to fend for themselves.
Emergency services officials have not held back in their assessment of the damage Milton could bring, going out of their way to underscore the lethal potential of the storm bearing down on helpless beachfronts and reminding residents of the destruction wrought by Hurricane Helene just weeks ago.
‘This is it, folks,’ Emergency Management Director Cathie Perkins said at a Wednesday morning news conference.
‘Those of you who were punched during Hurricane Helene, this is going to be a knockout. You need to get out and you need to get out now.’
Tom moved to the abode due to its proximity to the international headquarters for Scientology and was reportedly very ‘happy’ there.

Tom lived with his son Connor, whom he adopted with ex-wife Nicole Kidman , at the apartment (pictured together in 2012)
Tom’s jaw-dropping multi-million-dollar penthouse apartment features a private 39-foot lap pool on the actor’s rooftop.
Plans back in 2018 revealed that the rooftop was set to an include a ‘pool garden,’ ‘pool kitchen,’ and outdoor dining area.
The penthouse fills the top two floors of the condominium, dubbed The SkyView, and features an entire room dedicated to a flight simulator.
The plan also showed the luxurious pad features a private entrance with a car elevator as well as a personal garage that can fit up to nine vehicles.
Amenities for residents of the building itself will include the Sky Lounge community pool, a playroom for children and a lounge dubbed ‘The Vault’.
Tom lived with his son Connor, whom he adopted with ex-wife Nicole Kidman, at the apartment, until the latter moved into Scientology’s religious retreat The Sandcastle.
Connor has followed in the footsteps of his father Tom and become increasingly ensconced in Scientology.
In 2018 it was revealed he was living at the plush Sandcastle compound owned by the Church, which is described as a ‘religious retreat’.
Built in 1979, the resort-style complex was updated in 2018 to include 62 residential rooms and 84 ‘auditing’ rooms – where scientologists notoriously undergo personal questioning to pinpoint ‘areas of spiritual distress’.
In contrast to the rigorous religious practices going on inside, the exterior features decking with incredible water views, a pool and hot tub, a rooftop garden, and even a modest tiki-style bar.
Cruise’s penthouse palace was in the works for a few years before he moved in in 2018, as reports showed millionaire Scientologist Moises Agami submitted development plans back in 2015.
Agami reportedly wanted to offer the condo units for between $300,000 to $350,000 for 1,300 sq ft units with two bedrooms and two bathrooms.
But in 2015 Agami’s plans underwent drastic changes as the 52 planned units suddenly whittled down to 40 to make way for the deluxe penthouse and private garage.
Around the same time, Tom listed or sold six of his own properties in the span of two years – including his primary home in Beverly Hills.
In 2013 the Top Gun star put his two New York homes, a $3million apartment and $28million townhouse, on the market.
And in 2015 he listed his Hollywood Hills home, Telluride, Colorado estate, Beverly Hills mansion and home in Southern England.
