The Australian Gladiators reboot is already getting panned by viewers months before its release after Channel 10 shared some first look photos of the upcoming series.
A group cast photo, released by 10 on the show’s official Instagram page last week, caught the ire of fans for the over-the-top look of the male contestants.
Previously, stars of the show wore eye-catching body building suits, which hugged their physiques as they battled competitors on the show.
In the latest promotional shot, former rugby league star Sandor Earl, who plays Phoenix on the show, can be seen flaunting his hulking frame in a crop top and mini-shorts along with a metallic silver cape.
Ironman Jett Kenny, who plays Viking, can also be seen flashing his toned midriff in a fur-trimmed crop top and skintight pants.

Khan Porter, who plays Gladiator Spartan, was seen posing in a plunging blue-and-silver bodysuit which features a triangular pattern over it.
Similarly, Blessings Chilufya, who plays Cyclone, was seen flexing his muscular physique in another skimpy crop top and flamboyant face paint.
Only former Ninja Warrior Kwame Duah, who plays Maximus, had a less campy costume with an oversized white singlet and sporty shorts.
Damien Rider, who plays Cobra, also opted for a more masculine.

The flamboyant outfits left some viewers less-than-impressed, and many pointed out how different they looked to the original iteration of the competition series.
‘Why these gladiators look like they about to walk down a parade?’ one fan of the show wrote under the photo.
‘What in the lords name are the fellas wearing?! Surely you can dress them in more masculine [clothing] than that?’ another asked.
‘Not sure about the crop tops and capes on men,’ yet another wrote.

Other fans couldn’t wait for the the highly-anticipated show to begin, giving a callout to the male and female stars of the show.
‘Low key obsessed,’ drag queen Courtney Act wrote.
‘Gods! All of them,’ gushed one. ‘Woohoo,’ another added.
Earlier this month, Channel 10 announced Gladiators will be hosted by Liz Ellis and Beau Ryan.
The show, which is set to air later next year, will see the sporting personalities take on the small screen role.

Beau, who currently hosts the Amazing Race, said he was ‘beyond excited’ to be taking on the job of the iconic show.
‘I am beyond excited to be hosting alongside the great Liz Ellis,’ he said.
‘Liz is a national treasure, and we are going to have a lot of fun. I grew up watching and loving and can’t wait to get into it. It’s going to be spectacular.’
The Gladiators and Contenders skills will be tested with obstacles including Hang Tough, Duel, The Wall, Power Ball, Pyramid and The Eliminator.
It will be the ultimate test of speed, strength, stamina, agility and power.
The high-octane show, made popular in 1995 and 1996, found its home on 10.
In addition to the Australian show, the BBC is also planning a reboot for UK fans of the competitive series.
The show did get a reboot in 2008 but failed to find a steady audience. It was hosted by Tom Williams and Zoe Naylor.
The show was filmed at The Dome at Sydney Showground with challengers competing for $50,000 and a Subaru Forester.
The show featured a number of household names including Zac Kozyrski as ‘Hunter’ and Jackson Mullane as ‘Outlaw’.
Female Gladiators included Tiffiny Hall as ‘Angel’ and Olympian Tatiana Grigorieva as ‘Olympia’ on the show.
