Creed frontman Scott Stapp shared a cryptic message on Saturday following the news of his wife Jaclyn Stapp filing for divorce.
The 50-year-old musician took to his Instagram Stories to post a video of a speech about ‘leaving your opponent with dignity’ by preacher and motivational speaker T.D. Jakes.
‘Speak without being offensive, listen without being defensive and always leave your opponent with their dignity,’ Jakes announced in the brief black-and-white clip.
The social media share comes after TMZ reported Jacyln had filed for divorce in May 2023, after previously filing in 2014 and 2022.
A rep for the singer told People on Friday: ‘Out of respect for their family, Scott intends to navigate this difficult time privately.’

A representative for the mother-of-three told TMZ that she has ‘faced a long battle’ during their long-term relationship, and has decided to move forward with divorce.
Jaclyn has previously filed for divorce from the performer, including 10 years ago in 2014 and then once again in 2018 – but ended up calling off the decision each time.
She first filed in 2014 and according to divorce papers at the time, former Miss New York claimed that Scott had threatened to kill her and their children.

Following a psychotic break and being placed on a 5150 psychiatric hold, Scott received treatment at a clinic in Malibu, and has since credited to Jaclyn for assisting him to get the help he needed.

‘Relationships teach you a lot of things, good and bad, and I’ve learned that no matter how they resolve or how they continue, that each stage in each season of the relationship is most definitely a learning experience,’ the star added to the outlet.
‘I never had a family like this. They’ve really demonstrated to me what a family is all about, and having each other’s back and sticking together.’
He continued, ‘I’ve got to see what a real family is in action, and hopefully we’ll be able to carry that forward no matter how the story unfolds.’

In 2015, the performer revealed his bipolar diagnosis and while recently talking to People, he also touched on the topic of mental health and his own struggles.
‘It’s still a challenge, because I think it goes against my nature – I was always alone as a child, and alone when I was going through things.’
Scott further expressed, ‘It seems a lot of men feel that they’ve got to be strong, they’ve got to keep it together no matter what, and they just suffer in silence.’
‘It’s hard to pick up that phone and reach out and say, “Hey, I am struggling. I need somebody right now.”‘ That’s something that really, really hindered me when I first started trying to get sober in 2008.’
‘I would never pick up the phone. I was white-knuckling it and just for some reason, the phone was 10,000 pounds,’ the star explained.
In regards to asking for help, he added, ‘It’s definitely something that I would encourage anybody out there who’s going through anything…You don’t have to do it alone.’
