Decades after starring in his music video Dancing In The Dark, Courteney Cox ran into Bruce Springsteen at the star-studded U.S. Open.
The pair were photographed enjoying a friendly catch-up at the Flushing Meadows match on Sunday, with Cox even meeting Springsteen’s daughter Jessica Rae Springsteen.
Cox, 61, flashed a friendly wave as she stooped down to chat with the pair at eye-level, with ‘The Boss’, 75, starting off the introductions by gesturing towards his daughter, 33.
The Friends alum was seen offering a handshake to the younger Springsteen, who happily reciprocated.
The reunion was captured in video posted to social media, with Springsteen greeting Cox with a kiss on the cheek and a hug before introducing her to his daughter.
Cox was just 20-years-old when she appeared in the 1984 music video for Springsteen’s Dancing In The Dark.

Springsteen pulled the young woman out of the crowd and danced with her on stage, instantly making her famous.
Cox was selected for the role over other serious dancers following an audition for director Brian DePalme.
The Scream star recounted the breakthrough moment during a 2022 interview with Howard Stern, admitting she still cringes watching her ‘pathetic’ dance moves.
‘He’s God, he’s so incredible,’ she gushed of Springsteen. ‘I love that song. I get a little embarrassed because I do feel like when I watch the video when I see it… did you see my dance?
‘It was pathetic. I’m not a bad dancer, but that was horrible. I was so nervous.’
Cox thought she had gone to the ‘wrong place’ when she first arrived to the try-out due to her skilled competition.
‘I thought I was in the wrong place. I was like, “I don’t know what they’re doing, but I can’t even bend my leg. This is it!”‘ she said, kicking her leg out.
‘So I went into Brian DePalme’s office, he put on the music and said “Will you dance?” I thought, “Right now? Here? In front of you, just the two of us?” And it was so embarrassing!’ she said.

Fortunately for Cox, it seems DePalme wasn’t looking for a pro dancer for the role.
‘I think that’s why I got it, because I was literally like, “Okay!”‘ she said meekly. ‘And I think that’s what they wanted, a fan that just couldn’t believe it.’
In his memoir, Born To Run, Springsteen recalled thinking the young woman he was instructed to invite on stage was a fan attending the concert.
He only learned later from the director that he had, in fact, cast Cox after she auditioned in New York for the part.
