Nova 106.9 radio star Nikki Osbourne has shared how she was once blocked on social media by Hollywood superstar Chris Hemsworth.
The 43-year-old comedian said the cringeworthy moment came after she had posted a lighthearted joke about Chris’s brother, Liam Hemsworth, and his troubled relationship with Miley Cyrus.
Nikki shared the throwback story in a recent episode of her breakfast show with co-hosts Ash Bradnam and David ‘Luttsy’ Lutteral.
After meeting the 41-year-old Thor star at a charity do in Melbourne in the 2000s, she had ‘friended’ him on Facebook.
‘I think he was quite flirtatious. It felt like he was flirting with me…in my head, I’m going “Oh, it’s just another Home & Away himbo”‘ she said during the Ash, Luttsy & Nikki Osborne show.
She added: ‘We did exchange Facebook friend requests, that was back when it was private…when you could only have 5000 people, there were no public pages yet.

‘And so we just became friends on Facebook!’
However, things went south for Nikki’s online ‘friendship’ with the Furisosa star when she made a joke about Chris’ brother and his headline making romance with Miley.
‘There was trouble in the press between Liam and Miley,’ Nikki remembered.
‘There was trouble in paradise, and then Chris posted on his private page saying, ‘”there’s nothing worse than watching someone you love make the same mistakes over and over.”‘
‘So because I’m an idiot I wrote: ‘”Ebola. I reckon Ebola’s worse”‘, because there was an Ebola breakout – topical – I thought I was being funny!’
Unfortunately for Nikki, Chris response was swift.
‘He blocked me…I got unfriended,’ she said, adding: ‘It was probably a little insensitive.
‘This is why comedians end up miserable and alone, because they go for the joke instead of the considered, considerate response,’ she joked.
Chris is now happily married to Spanish actress Elsa Pataky who he wed in 2010.

Known for her controversial comedy style, Nikki celebrated her role on Nova Brisbane’s breakfast show by resurfacing an old clip that she claims got her ‘fired’ from Channel Nine.
‘It’s an oldie but a goodie,’ she captioned the video shared to Instagram.
In the footage, the comic was seen in a debate-style segment on onesies during an appearance on Channel Nine breakfast program Mornings.
Nikki was asked whether she thought ‘grown women look weird in onesies’ as they discussed ‘comfy pjs’ being sexier to partners.
‘My husband says you don’t look at the turkey while you’re stuffing it,’ she joked, referring to whether wearing sexy lingerie to bed is appealing to one’s spouse.
As host Sonia Kruger was seen raising a hand to her face and stifling her laughter, David Campbell quipped: ‘What does that even mean?’
‘I won’t explain it …’ Osborne replied.
‘But, I think too many hipsters have been interviewed regarding this, because I think most men would prefer women in their lingerie than their jimmy jams or their onesies.’

‘I mean let’s face it, onesies are a logistical nightmare if you’re trying to enter a jiggery-pokery, because it’s like ‘oh, give me five minutes’.’
Campbell wasn’t keen to hear any more, telling Osborne: ‘After hearing what your husband says, I’m not even looking forward to Thanksgiving anymore,’ while Kruger joked: ‘There goes that turkey sandwich I was going to have for lunch.’
Sharing the ‘oldie but a goodie’ clip to her Instagram over the weekend, Osborne wrote: ‘Gobble Gobble #fyp #controversy #turkeystuffing.’
Osbourne – who appeared on the 2020 season of Australia’s I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here! – previously revealed that she did lose her job at the network over the on-air segment.
‘Yes, I was fired. Lasted three weeks,’ she said in 2022.
The comedian’s brand new radio show, Ash, Luttsy & Nikki Osborne, sees her join Ash Bradnam and David ‘Luttsy’ Lutteral.
She is replacing former Olympic swimmer Susie O’Neill, who sensationally quit the show live on-air in November.
