Collin Gosselin’s Heartbreaking Claim About Estranged Siblings

Kate and Jon Gosselin’s son Collin made a heartbreaking claim as he reached out to his estranged siblings through an emotional message on TikTok this week. 

The 21-year-old college student – who recently revealed a new career venture after after trashing his mom over his Marines discharge – alleged in the post shared on Thursday that he and his siblings were ‘forced apart’ and ‘pitted against each other.’

Collin included a throwback photo of himself with his brothers and siblings while adding the text, ‘Born to be a team, us against the world…’ 

A second slide showed the Jon & Kate Plus 8 alum in the driver’s seat of a car and he wrote, ‘Forced to do it alone, and wonder everyday what our lives could’ve looked like.’ 

In the caption of the post, Collin also claimed, ‘Forced apart, pitted against each other. All the fame and money in the world, but what about kids being kids?

‘I will always love them more than anything. The tears I shed behind closed doors, thinking about the memories we could’ve shared. I love you guys…’ 

Daily Mail has reached out to both Kate and Jon’s reps for comment. 

Collin has notably been estranged from his mother Kate as well as most of his siblings for many years. 

However, he is close to his father Jon – who got sole custody of Collin and his sister Hannah back in 2018. 

Jon and Kate were married from 1999 until their divorce in 2009. They share eight children: twins Cara and Madelyn born in 2000, and sextuplets Collin, Hannah, Joel, Aaden, Alexis and Leah. 

Social media users jumped to the comment section of his latest post to offer words of support to Collin. 

One penned, ‘Please write YOUR STORY. We support you. We all saw what happened to you, you are loved by all.’ 

Another shared, ‘You were never the problem,’ and a fan added, ‘Your officially my adopted little brother if you ever need anything I am here for you.’ 

On TikTok user questioned if Collin still has a close relationship with his sister Hannah, to which he replied, ‘Yes I just her today!

‘She was worried her car wouldn’t pass inspection so I was looking at it for her. She’s so funny and I love her sm. It makes my day whenever I see her, but we’re both so busy with work, school etc.’   

Another typed, ‘if you choose to have kids one day and be involved, you’ll understand your mother more.’ 

Collin responded to the fan by claiming that he suffered both ‘physical and emotional abuse’ by his mother ‘while having to be an animal in her circus on tv.’ 

He added, ‘Being locked up, isolated, zip tied. Being sent away because I didn’t fit into an equation. 

‘Having one visit from her after being completely cut off with no contact at 12 years old, in which the whole visit was her telling me how I deserved the situation I was in because I “destroyed our family.” Yeah I’m sorry, but I will never “understand” that. I will break the cycle that she couldn’t.’ 

Last year in September, Collin claimed that his mother Kate ‘zip-tied his arms and legs and locked him in basement as a child’ during an interview with The U.S. Sun. 

And back in 2023 on Vice TV’s Dark Side of the 2000s, he talked about being sent away at the age of 12 to an institution, and alleged that his mother, Kate, did so to prevent him from discussing how he was being treated at home. 

He also claimed last year that he was ‘discharged’ from the Marines due to Kate sending him to the behavioral institution in 2016. 

Collin created his TikTok account late last month in July and in his first post – which showed photos of both him and father Jon on motorcycles – he gave an update about being discharged from the Marines. 

One fan asked, ‘are you still gonna join the marines!’ and he replied, ‘Yes, currently working on getting that all straightened out!’ 

Collin also confirmed that he is in the process of writing a book, which he called ‘an exciting opportunity.’ 

In regards to when the book will hit shelves, he said, ‘I’m still working on the time frame for everything. I’ll keep you updated.’ 

Earlier this year in March, Collin also announced his new career venture and revealed he established a power-washing company in Pennsylvania, which he has ‘officially filed as an LLC.’ 

Collin first went public with his new business endeavor in November of last year, when he revealed he planned on running the day-to-day operations while simultaneously getting his college degree. 

The new career path came less than a year after he announced his discharge from the Marines, for which he blamed on his estranged mother Kate for sending him to a behavioral institution in 2016 when he was just 12.

In an August 2024 interview with Entertainment Tonight, Collin maintained his mom sent him away to stop him from revealing her ‘abuse’ as a child.

‘I was starting to tell people what was going on at home, she caught wind of that and had to put me somewhere where I wouldn’t be able to get the secrets out,’ he claimed.

Collin also alleged that his mother took out ‘her anger and frustration on him’ and would separate him for his other siblings.

The Pennsylvania native would also reveal that his time in the mental health institution was the reason why he got the discharge from the Marines near the end of training despite being ‘close to graduating.’

‘The paperwork was looked into, and they found out that I was, in fact, in an institution at one point in my life,’ he said at the time, before adding that the United States Marine Corps did not ‘need any deeper reason’ to let him go.

Collin recalled how the institution ‘took a toll on me mentally, it was a really, really dark place.’

In an interview with The U.S. Sun last year, Collin alleged Kate had ‘zip-tied’ and locked him in an unfinished basement with ‘cameras in it, a tiny window in the corner and [that] was bolt-locked from the outside.’

During Vice TV’s Dark Side of the 2000s series his father Jon said he began to fight for sole custody of his son after he claimed a doctor told him that Collin did not have a diagnosis.

It was during the legal battle that a family rift ensued, resulting in some of the former’s couple’s children siding with their mother while Collin and his sister Hannah went to live with their dad.

While Kate didn’t comment on her son’s disturbing accusation, her lawyer Richard Puelo told Fox News in September of last year: ‘I don’t believe she intentionally harmed any of her children in any way, shape or form.’

Back in 2016, Kate revealed she had sent her son to a residential program for kids with special needs – but did not reveal his exact behavioral issues, according to Page Six. 

During his conversation with The U.S. Sun, Collin revealed what his mother Kate could do to win back his love. 

‘So first and foremost, my relationship with my brothers and sisters is of top priority to me,’ he expressed. 

‘And I think the only way that my mother and I would be able to reconnect and fix our relationship in the future is, if she would just come forward with the truth and all the things that she has kept under wraps.’

Collin continued, ‘And you know the many times that she’s tried to soil my name and my father’s name. I just would want her to come forward with the truth.

‘[But] Yes, that door would be open. 100 percent.’

He later stated that, ‘Despite my mother, and you know her, her constant effort to protect her reputation at the cost of mine.

‘And the things that she has said about me and the things that she has done to me. I still feel in my heart I feel sorry for her…’
