Coleen Rooney has discussed her upcoming Disney+ documentary during a rare TV appearance on The One Show on Monday.
The WAG, 37, who’s new show charts her headline making Wagatha Christie trial, admitted she only publicly named Rebekah Vardy after leaks from her personal social media account to The Sun newspaper ‘just wouldn’t stop’.
She told hosts Alex Jones and Jermaine Jenas that while it may have been ‘easier’ to just ignore the issue, it had been going on for ‘so long’.
‘I put warning posts out there, saying “someone was leaking my private information” and it just didn’t stop, it continued and I just had enough and I just wanted it done with’.
Coleen went on to admit that while she knew the story and aftermath would be ‘big’ she never imagined it becoming a worldwide phenomenon, with the phrase Wagatha Christie even entering the vernacular.

Speaking about the aftermath she said: ‘There were times when I wanted it to go away but I had to battle on’.
It comes after the latest explosive trailer for Disney+’s Coleen Rooney: The Real Wagatha Story was been released, prior to the show’s airing on Wednesday.
In the shocking teaser, Coleen is seen tearfully divulging details of her investigation into her fellow WAG and unveiling the secrets of her hunt for the truth over who was leaking details of her life to The Sun newspaper.
In the clip, Coleen is seen revealing that the saga, which began with a Twitter post on 9 October 2019, was ‘constantly on her mind’, before issuing the warning to Jamie Vardy’s wife: ‘Don’t play games with a girl who can play better’.
Coleen’s husband Wayne features in the trailer, alongside Piers Morgan and Coleen’s mother Colette and her friends, who shed light on the pains of the drama.
The trailer also saw stock footage of both women arriving to the High Court last year with their husbands on their arms, while other clips depicted crowds chanting ‘Your wife is a grass’ while Jamie hit the pitch in the midst of the case.
Coleen was asked: ‘Have you still got the post on your phone?’, to which she responded: ‘Yeah, yeah, yeah. I stick by them’, before the footage panned to images of the duo entering court to the sound of a news report.
The reporter read: ‘Wagatha Christie starts today at the High Court, with fellow WAGs and former friends embroiled in a bitter row.’

Where it began: In a tweet and on Instagram, Coleen said Rebekah’s account had leaked information about her. It triggered a wave of social media reaction and saw her dubbed ‘Wagatha Christie’
Coleen said: ‘Someone on my personal account was informing The Sun newspaper of my private posts and stories – I thought, I’m gonna do something about it’.
Showing Coleen hard at work, she was seen laying out pages, including images of her family – comprising Wayne, 37, and their kids Kai, 13, Klay, 10, Kit, seven, and Cass, five – and other posts from the private page.
One of the film’s commentators said: ‘This is a detective story – you never find someone responsible with a smoking gun in their hand’.
Coleen detailed: ‘I needed evidence, I had to set a trap’, before later conceding: ‘I never imagined being in a legal battle’. She was joined in her car by the camera crew, where she pointed out paparazzi following her.
Shedding further light onto the intricacies of the situation – and revealing the message Rebekah famously sent her, Coleen said: ‘I had a message off Rebekah saying what is this and I said you know what it is. It was constantly on my mind’.

Pained: She detailed the emotional toll her quest for victory placed on her and how she was determined to reveal the truth in a peek at the three-part documentary released on October 18
She revealed her father had said: ‘You’re just not you anymore’.
In his first comment on the situation, Wayne said to the camera: ‘I just thought what is she doing here, while laughing incredulously’.
Prior to the release, Rebekah added more fuel to her bitter legal battle with Coleen Rooney by applying to trademark the name ‘Wagatha’, it is claimed.
The media personality, 41, registered the term Wagatha Christie six months ago, referring to the vicious showdown between the two WAGs.
Rebekah took Coleen to the High Court for libel – and lost – after Coleen claimed in October 2019 that stories about her were being leaked to the Press from Rebekah’s social media account.
The story began when The Sun ran a number of fake articles about Coleen from September 2017 to October 2019, which came from Coleen’s private Instagram.
The Liverpudlian star claimed she only shared the stories with Vardy in a ‘sting’ operation, including claims that she travelled to Mexico to look into baby ‘gender selection’ treatment, a plan to revive her TV career and the flooding of her basement.
Rebekah was on holiday in Dubai with her husband, Leicester striker Jamie, 36, when Coleen made the accusations on Twitter and Instagram about the leaks.

The big reveal: Coleen’s eagerly-anticipated documentary is set to air on Wednesday
Rebekah said: ‘At the time I felt physically sick. I think it must have been the biggest panic attack. I was totally shocked. What to do next? That’s the million-dollar question.
‘I couldn’t understand why someone would do that. Why someone would do that knowing someone’s vulnerable, knowing the impact something like that is going to cause. It’s going to cause a s***-storm – a massive one – and that it did.’
Referring to a fake story about a flooded basement in Coleen’s new Cheshire mansion, Rebekah insisted: ‘The first time I read about the flooded basement was in the Daily Mail online. I love how I get blamed for that one, incredible.
‘If I had been selling stories, where are the messages saying “Give this to The Sun”? “Make sure I get paid for this”. Where are they? There aren’t any – because they don’t exist.’
In June the following year, it was revealed that Rebekah was launching a libel case against Coleen which began in November.
The libel battle has its first High Court hearing in London. A judge ruled that Coleen’s October 2019 post ‘clearly identified’ Rebekah as being ‘guilty of the serious and consistent breach of trust’.
Mr Justice Warby concludes that the ‘natural and ordinary’ meaning of the posts was that Rebekah had ‘regularly and frequently abused her status as a trusted follower of Coleen’s personal Instagram account by secretly informing The Sun of Coleen’s private posts and stories’.
