Coleen Nolan has broken her silence on her son Shane’s split from his Miss Great Britain wife Maddie Wahdan.
The TV presenter, 58, told in a new interview that it is always ‘extremely sad when something doesn’t work out’ amid claims that he cheated on her.
Shane got married to Maddie in summer 2022 after dating for six years but last December it was claimed Maddie discovered singer Shane Jr. had been unfaithful earlier that month and separated from him straight away.
Coleen has spoken openly about his father and her ex husband Shane Richie’s infidelity in the past after they were married from 1990 to 1999.
Maddie is said to now be living in Deal, Kent while Shane Jr. is located near to his family in Blackpool.

‘Obviously Shane’s my son – I adore him. And I still adore Maddie. I can sit and talk to Maddie for hours, I’ve been there and done it.
‘But she’s doing great. I mean, she’s Miss GB, she’s beautiful and she’s a great person, and she’s got nothing to worry about. She’ll fly.’
A source told The Sun last month of Maddie and Shane’s split: ‘It’s sad the relationship has come to an abrupt end so soon after they tied the knot.
‘Shane admitted he’d cheated. Maddie can’t see any way back from the betrayal, so ended their marriage.
‘Coleen is really upset as she adored Maddie and sees her as another daughter. She is disappointed to see history repeating itself. It’s a case of like father, like son.
‘Maddie is heartbroken. She is standing firm on her decision to move on with her life. She would never be walked over.’
MailOnline contacted a representative for Shane Jr. for comment at the time.

Coleen said in 2018 that she regretted staying with Shane Snr. after finding out he’d cheated while they were together.
She told the Big Issue: ‘I thought it was a blip and we’d have counselling and everything would be fine. If I could go back, I’d leave.
‘I stayed two years too long. But I was massively in love with him. To me, there was nothing missing in our relationship.
‘He’s said that too. He said he doesn’t really understand what happened. Well, he does — he wanted to have his cake and eat it.
‘I loved him, but in the end I thought, “I’m not one of those women who keeps turning a blind eye”. I think we’ve done OK. We’ve stayed good friends.’
Shane Jr. and Maddie tied the knot in front of their nearest and dearest at Rushton Hall in Kettering in July 2022.
He popped the question on Christmas Eve 2020 during a family game of charades.
Coleen recalled on an episode of Loose Women: ‘Obviously Christmas was very different but on Christmas Eve my son Shane proposed to his now fiancé, we were playing a game where we had to guess what the person was going to say… she cried, I cried.’

When asked if she knew about the proposal, Coleen said: ‘We did know for a month beforehand, originally Maddie was going to go back to her mum for Christmas when it was tiers.
‘He was behind her and he said, “the ring is down there”.’
Shane Jr’s mother Coleen and Shane Richie married in 1990 and had sons Shane and Jake before they separated in 1997 and divorced two years later.
The TV presenter is also mother to daughter Ciara, 21, form her marriage to Ray Fensome.
