Claudia Fogarty has hit back at fan criticism after she shared a post detailing her New Year fitness goals.
The former Love Island star, 29, first took to her Instagram Stories to share a mirror selfie of herself in a white bra and shorts and spoke about her health goals.
She spoke about how she had ‘put on weight over Christmas’ and wants to cut down on snacks as she shared her plans to document her fitness journey on Instagram.
However, she later returned to Instagram to share a follow-up video after she was hit by criticism from fans, where she explained that the photograph she used was from last summer.
She insisted that fans had not ‘understood’ what she was trying to say, and said she wants to get back to feeling as ‘great’ as she did in the mirror selfie.

The daughter of motorcycle racer Carl Fogarty went on to say she hadn’t implied that she needs to ‘lose weight’ as she spoke about her fitness journey since the age of 21.
Alongside a snap of herself in her workout gear, Claudia penned in the original post: ‘Okay so my main goal this year is to get fit and healthy and I’m going to take you all on my journey.
‘I have put weight on over Christmas which is very normal and I’m not dwelling on it. But it’s the time to get fit this year and feel the best I’ve felt especially since I’m turning 30 this year eekkk!!!
‘Chocolate and crisps have become a daily habit now and I’m not saying I’m going to cut them out completely but defo cutting down.
‘I’d love to share my fitness journey and help you all as I know you guys ask me a lot on how I lost weight etc, so let’s do it together and I’m happy to help anyone that needs it.’
She then shared a video to her Stories where she implied she had received criticism from fans and hit back at claims that she was saying she needed to lose weight.
She said: ‘I just thought I’d do a video to explain a bit better because some people aren’t understanding that post. It was basically to just say I want to get back to feeling like that picture where I felt great.
‘I was eating well, my skin was good, I wasn’t drinking a lot, I was doing the gym a lot and I felt amazing in myself and I think when you eat healthy and you do the gym, you do feel a lot better in yourself.

‘I’m not saying I need to lose weight, I’m not saying I’m fat at all because I know I’m not. I want to feel better in myself and feel how I felt when I was at my goal weight.
‘I have explained before, I have been on a massive fitness journey since I was about 21, it’s been something I’ve struggled with all my life.
‘I was three stone heavier, I wasn’t a healthy person, but it’s something I want to get back into and I want to share my journey.
‘If you want to come along with me, then great we can help each other. That’s all it was for, not to say I was fat on that picture because I definitely was not.’
