Coronation Street’s Claire Sweeney has admitted that despite a string of failed romances she’s in no rush to find love again.
The actress and singer, 52, admitted that she hasnt been on a date since Christmas, and has sought comfort knowing that her grandmother didn’t find ‘the love of her life’ until she was 86.
Claire’s last long-term romance came with Daniel Reilly, and the pair split in 2017. They share son Jaxon, eight.
She has acted in Legally Blonde, and Educating Rita, but currently stars as Cassandra Plummer in Corrie.
Claire also appeared on the most recent series of Dancing On Ice and was the third celebrity eliminated along with professional skater Colin Grafton.

Claire has been encouraged on her long wait to love by her grandmother who she says didn’t find it until she was 86.
The actress joked to The Mirror’s Invite Only: ‘If I have to wait that long, so be it! I’m not dating at the moment, no. I mean, I’m so fulfilled and it’s so exciting what I’m doing. I get all the love I want off my son, all the attention I want at work, and I’m financially secure. So at the moment, I’m not searching.
She continued: ‘I never used to worry this much, like 10, 15 years ago, and I think it’s definitely a menopause thing. You’ve seen your body change in front of your own eyes very quickly, things getting wider.’
Claire added: ‘You see your body change and you get fearful, you get more frightened of things. Doing Dancing on Ice this year was terrifying, but I went out there and gave it a go. And I’ve had lots of supportive messages.’
She spoke specifically about messages from Carol Vorderman and Vanessa Feltz.
She described years-long pal Carol as her best friend and explained that she draws inspiration from her lack of fear.
Claire found fame in the ’90s as Lindsey Corkhill in now-axed Channel 4 soap Brookside.
She arrived on the cobbles in 2023 as the mother and daughter of established characters Tyrone Dobbs and Evelyn Plummer respectively.

In December, Claire told Prima that she joined Dancing On Ice because: ‘I wanted to challenge myself.
‘You get little vulnerabilities and anxieties with menopause and you start to lose your bottle as you get older, so I want to conquer some fears and get my confidence and chutzpah back.
‘It’s going to be good for me. When I stepped on to the ice for the first time, I had this feeling of euphoria. It was such an adrenaline rush, I loved it – how great at 52 years of age.’
However, training was not without difficulty and Claire admitted she embarrassed herself in front of ice skating legends Jane Torvill and Christopher Dean.
She said: ‘The first time I went on the ice, Torvill and Dean were standing in the middle of this huge rink and there were cameras everywhere.
‘I’d got a blow-dry and was wearing bright blue because I thought it would stand out, but as I got on the ice I went flying, landed on my wrist and hurt it.
‘I thought, “If I can carry on with everyone looking at me, that will be a big accomplishment”, so I got back up and kept skating for half an hour and was so proud of myself.
‘Then I glanced in the mirror in the dressing room and saw that my leggings had ripped and my bum had been hanging out the whole time.’

Claire and Daniel split before learning that she was expecting their son Jaxon and rekindled their relationship when he was born.
But sadly, just nine months after the happy event, Claire and Daniel, once again called off their romance.
Claire told MailOnline in a statement: ‘Whilst we have decided not to remain together we are committed to bringing up our wonderful son and making sure we are great parents and supporting each other to achieve that.’
Claire got engaged to Daniel on Christmas Eve in 2012 and they split in April 2014, but just weeks later she discovered she was pregnant.
They grew closer during the pregnancy and last year, in an interview with OK! magazine, Claire revealed they were back together.
‘We’re together all the time now,’ she said. ‘The priority is the baby and Daniel is here supporting me and he is fantastic. Daniel has been living with me and looking after me. He’s been so lovely.’
The former Brookside actress told the publication that Daniel had fast become a very hands-on father.
‘He’s been brilliant,’ she said. ‘He took him off me for a few hours this morning so I could sleep for a while.
‘Daniel just took to nappy changing straight away and he’s always there supporting me. I couldn’t wish for anyone better.’
Claire also revealed why she decided to call her little one Jaxon, despite planning on calling him Gabriel.
‘Jaxon was a name that Daniel and I chose together when I was pregnant the year before when I had two miscarriages. I liked that it was a name we both agreed on.’
