Claire Foy has blasted the idea of AI being used in films as she confessed it ‘makes her sad’ and she would be ‘disappointed’ if it became the future of Hollywood.

The actress, 41, stars in H Is For Hawk and recently revealed that she thought it would be ‘s**t’ if the studio shot the flick with an AI-generated hawk.

She explained: ‘I just find it very sad. I have no interest in watching or reading anything by AI.’

When asked about fears of becoming ‘obsolete,’ the two-time Emmy winner said that it was up to audiences to decide what the future of entertainment should look like.

‘Well, only if there is an appetite for people to watch that stuff, if the younger generation say this is just the world we live in’, she told The Sunday Times.

‘But I don’t get it. And I’ll be very disappointed in my fellow humans if that happens — if they want to watch glorified animation.’

And Claire is not the only actress to hit out at AI.

In recent months, as Emily Blunt branded AI-generated actress Tilly Norwood ‘terrifying’ and begged talent agencies not to sign her.

A talent studio Xicoia created the digital performer, a young brunette actress, with Eline Van der Velden unveiling the project at the Zurich Film Festival.

Tilly has started attracting interest from talent agents, and Smashing Machine actress Emily confessed she is horrified at the prospect.

Shown a report on Tilly, Emily told Variety: ‘Does it disappoint me? I don’t know how to quite answer it, other than to say how terrifying this is.

‘No, are you serious? That’s an AI? Good Lord, we’re screwed. That is really, really scary.

‘Come on, agencies, don’t do that. Please stop. Please stop taking away our human connection.’

Emily was told that Tilly was designed to resemble a composite of familiar stars and was told she was designed as ‘the next Scarlett Johansson’.

To which Emily replied: ‘But we have Scarlett Johansson.’

And she wasn’t the only Hollywood star voicing their criticisms.

Scream actress Melissa Barrera branded the arrival of Tilly ‘gross’ as she posted an Instagram Story about the news.

She captioned it: ‘Hope all actors repped by the agent that does this, drop their a$. How gross, read the room.(sic)’

Claire is best known for portraying Queen Elizabeth II on the first two seasons of Netflix hit The Crown.

She received various accolades for the role including a Golden Globe and two Primetime Emmy Awards.

Her role in The Crown came just one year after she portrayed another royal, Henry VIII’s wife Anne Boelyn in the BBC adaptation of Hilary Mantel’s Wolf Hall.

More recently, she appeared in the critically acclaimed drama All Of Us Strangers alongside Paul Mescal and Andrew Scott.

At the end of last year, she filmed latest film H Is For Hawk, which premiered in October.
