Last month it was announced that Salburn star Barry had joined the cast, but details of his character have not yet been revealed.
The other stars returning are Stephen Graham, Sophie Rundle, Ned Dennehy, Packy Lee and Ian Peck.
Last week, production commenced on the film, which will be an epic continuation of the multi-award-winning gangster saga, set in the lawless streets of Birmingham in the 1900s.
The film is written by the show’s creator, Steven Knight, who produces alongside Patrick Holland, Cillian and Guy Heeley, and will be made in association with BBC Film.
Line Of Duty star Stephen announced that he signed up for the movie earlier this week as he spoke with Deadline at the London Film Festival.
The actor told Deadline that he is ‘looking forward to seeing the lads again’ on Peaky Blinders’.
He didn’t elaborate on his role in the new movie, however, he previously played the role of Hayden Stagg in the sixth and final season of Steven Knight’s hit BBC series.
The British screenwriter, 65, recently talked up the ‘mindblowing’ cast during the RTS London Convention, noting that the film is set in the Second World War.
Teasing what fans can expect, he said: ‘I’m thrilled to see the cameras rolling on this new chapter of the Peaky Blinders story, set during World War II.’
