Christine McGuinness has admitted she is ‘absolutely petrified’ of living on her own when estranged husband Paddy McGuinness eventually moves out.
The mother-of-three, 36, who currently still lives with Paddy, 50, in their family home despite splitting in 2022, are currently in the process of finalising their divorce after 14 years together.
Speaking with Kate Thornton on her White Wine Question Time podcast, Christine said she is ‘worried how she will cope’ when she and Paddy live in separate homes.
Christine and ex-Paddy share twins Leo and Penelope, 10, and Felicity, seven, who all have autism.
The model, who also has autism, said: ‘I still struggle with change and I’m just learning how to do things the best, what works for me and the children, and not what is expected.

‘Of course when you see a couple split or divorce, you expect them instantly to move out or go separate ways and start your own life and for us that was never going to work. It has to be slow.
‘I am absolutely petrified of the thought of living on my own one day with the children.
‘I want to get to the point where I’m excited about it and I’m not there yet. For now, it works because we’re not having to change the children’s routine.
‘So Patrick [Paddy] goes to work, then I got to work. And then I go to work and Patrick stays at home.
‘It does worry me when we do go in separate houses, how are we going to cope with that.
‘How are they [children] going to be staying at daddies [house] then at mummies [house]. That’s why we are not sure what is the best way to do that. But whilst we are okay we’ll stay here and then eventually figure it out.’
On the back of Christine’s worry, she revealed that she ‘barely left the house for eight years’ and became ‘extremely reclusive’.
She added: ‘I chose to stay at home and I took it to the extreme by becoming very, very reclusive. I barely left the house for about eight years, and I would only go to the supermarket around 1am, 2am in the morning when it was quiet.

‘I’d say no to anything because I was comfortable in my bubble at home. I wasn’t unhappy, but I think I was just existing. I don’t think I was fully living. That’s what I’ve learned from [BBC Two’s The Pilgrimage], that I want to live this life that I’ve got.’
It comes after Paddy is about to face a potentially acrimonious and expensive divorce battle with Christine.
In January, proceedings began to formerly end their marriage, with Christine hiring the no-nonsense family lawyer Catherine Bedford of top London firm, Harbottle and Lewis.
Nicknamed the ‘pitbull,’ she represented Ant McPartlin’s wife Lisa in her bitter battle with the I’m A Celeb star, while she is also acting for Games of Thrones star Sophie Turner, who split from American singer Joe Jonas last year.
A friend of Christine’s told the MailOnline: ‘The gloves are off, she was good to Paddy, she stayed at home and brought up his children while he was out earning money.
‘It’s going to be an expensive divorce for Paddy. Christine has had enough.’
In July 2022, it was reported in The Sun on Sunday that the end came when Christine was told Paddy had kissed a star after they appeared on a TV show together.
The woman was never named though Christine knows her identity and was said to be ‘devastated’ after learning of it during the The Games.

Just a week later it reported how Paddy had also been sending direct messages on social media to a BBC presenter, which Christine discovered in March 2022.
It is understood that was a contributing factor to the relationship ending, but Paddy has never responded to any of the allegations.
Behind the scenes, Paddy was said to be trying to persuade Christine that they shouldn’t get divorced as they can do much more together as a couple, but she refused to budge.
‘She was only 19 when she met him and is enjoying this new lease of life,’ said a friend of the star.
