Christie Brinkley wants Dolly Parton to join her in the ranks of Sports Illustrated swimsuit models to prove to critics that age is just a number.
The 69-year-old Vacation alum took to her Instagram on Wednesday to defend the country singer, 77, after she was accused of being too old to dress up like a Dallas Cowboy cheerleader at the NFL Thanksgiving Day Halftime Show.
‘Whoever had the nerve to suggest that the one and only Dolly Parton should dress her age should sit down!’ Christie captioned a stunning throwback photo of the two women posing together.
During Christie’s fiery defense of Dolly, she also suggested the ‘Jolene ‘singer clap back at trolls by donning a swimsuit for the famed Sports Illustrated spread.
‘I’ll cut this short like your killer outfit and just say, LOVE YOU DOLLY! Maybe @si_swimsuit is next?’ Christie wrote.

The supermodel — who’s covered the magazine’s annual swimsuit issue a record four times — continued: ‘You should know you can’t define an icon like Dolly Parton by a number! Also immeasurable are her too numerous to count talents, her boundless good energy and effervescent humor, and her golden philanthropic heart full of love!
‘And the fact that she can also rock a Dallas cheerleader outfit too is inspiring and fun! Oh and not to mention @dollyparton is also topping Billboards chart this week! Brava you go girl!’
If Dolly takes Christie’s words of encouragement to heart and poses for the magazine, she’ll be in good company, as Martha Stewart did the deed at age 81.
Christie wasn’t the only celebrity to defend Dolly’s sartorial choice. as Whoopi Goldberg also had some choice words for the naysayers on Monday’s episode of The View.
‘Shame, shame on y’all,’ she said. ‘She’s somebody who doesn’t care what you think.
‘She’s someone who’s thinking for herself, and I’d like to see each and every one of you haters … do half of what she did on that stage,’ she continued.
‘Let’s see your dance videos that you haven’t cleaned up,’ she said. ‘Don’t be shady, man. Life’s too short.’
Parton’s younger sister, Stella, also came to the defense and told critics to ‘f*** yourself’ in a tweet shared on X.

‘I personally thought my big sister Dolly was cute as hell in her Dallas Cowboys cheerleading costume at the half time show on Thanksgiving,’ she wrote.
‘To those of you being so critical of a 77 year old kicking up her heels, I say f*** yourself. Shame on you not her.’
The 10-time Grammy winner did not respond to any of the comments but had been sharing teasers ahead of her Thanksgiving performance and posting promo for her rock album Rockstar.
At the holiday halftime show, she performed a medley of some of her biggest hits, including Jolene, 9 to 5, as well as covers of Queen’s We are the Champions and We Will Rock You.
