Chrissy Teigen’s Son Miles Diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes

Chrissy Teigen has revealed her son Miles, six, has Type 1 diabetes after posting a photo of him with an insulin monitor on his arm.

Sharing a photo of Miles and daughter Luna, eight. holding up signs at the Paris Olympics, she wrote: ‘A lot of you noticed something a little special about a photo I posted a few days ago — Luna, Miles and I celebrating Simone and team USA.

‘Miles had his arm up, and soooo many of you reached out to say the most beautiful and incredible words I have ever witnessed on this platform. 

‘You noticed his type-1 diabetes monitor and extended so much love and encouragement in every way possible. I was, and am, so blown away by the kindness of this community, already.

She added that ‘things could be so much worse’ and her family feels blessed to have the help of a specialist.

‘A couple weeks ago, our Miles was sick, in the hospital, with a terrible case of shigella, an intestinal infection caused by bacteria in food or water. A lot of his friends were also sick with it, as they went to the same camp and well, it happens!

‘But the doctors knew something else was off about his blood tests. I’ve learned since then that this is how so many young children end up being diagnosed with type-1 — going to the hospital for something completely different.

‘After more testing, we learned he is in the ‘honeymoon period’ of a lifetime of T1. Last night we gave him his first shot of insulin and here we go! A different, new world for us and we are certainly learning so much on the fly.’

‘This post is to thank you so much for your kindness. It helps Miles so much to know so many other people are going through the same thing and he is not alone.’

Last month the mom of  four  took to Instagram to share photos of herself with her husband John Legend and their four kids.

In the first snap, the brunette beauty sat on a couch posed alongside children Esti, 18-months, Luna and Miles along with Wren, one. 

Chrissy — who recently saw Justin Timberlake in concert — went barefaced, showing off her natural beauty while rocking a black sweater and leggings.

‘Even Facetune cannot fix this look of tired. it runs too deep lol,’ she penned in the caption.

‘Very happy to get some vacay time with the family after a wild few work months.’

She shares all four kids with husband John Legend, 45 

Teigen wore her highlighted locks pulled back in a ponytail and appeared to be in good spirits in the snap.

In another image, Legend, 45, sat while building a Lego creation during his time off. 

The All of me hitmaker looked comfortable in blue palm tree shorts and a simple black T-shirt.

Although they frequently travel for both work and pleasure, the parents-of-four have set a goal to enjoy some time together on a regular basis.

‘Chrissy and I have committed to doing a staycation one night a month to get away from the kids,’ the Beauty and the Beast singer revealed recently at the Voices of Beauty Summit.

In 2020, Legend told Spotify that his chart topping single All of Me was about his wife, who he married in 2013.

‘I’m so honored to know we created something that has meant so much to so many people,’ he told the music streaming platform. 

‘I wrote this song to express how I felt to the woman I love as we were about to commit to a lifetime together.

‘But often the best songs are able to express something in a way that is both personal and universal. I’m grateful to know that lovers around the world have connected with this song and made it their own,’ he finished.

Teigen and Legend were first linked in September 2006 while filming his music video for Stereo, in which Teigen, then 20 years old, plays the role of his romantic interest.

‘We did the music video, we were together for like 12 hours,’ the mother-of-four shared with Wendy Williams.

‘We spent the entire day together, me in my underwear and him in a full suit, and I went to go say goodbye to him, to his hotel, and we didn’t ever say goodbye that night,’ she finished.
