Chrissy Teigen and John Legend dismiss criticism as they enjoy JBL Fest in NYC despite backlash over photo booth incident

Chrissy Teigen and John Legend shrugged off their photo-booth backlash as they posed cheerfully at JBL Fest in New York on Friday.

Earlier that week, a viral TikTok had accused them of ‘kicking’ a group of girls ‘out’ of a photo-booth so that they could use it themselves.

The couple received furious blowback, with social media users slating them as ‘entitled’ and wondering: ‘Don’t they have like a billion pics of themselves?’

However John, 45, and Chrissy, 38, appeared entirely unbothered by the online uproar when they surfaced in New York on Friday night.

They shared a laugh and struck goofy poses for the camera that evening at the JBL PartyBox series launch party, thrown on the PHD Rooftop Lounge in Manhattan.

Chrissy cut a glamorous figure at the fete in a sleek white blazer-dress that showed off her shapely legs as she hit the red carpet at JBL Fest.

In a fashion flourish reminiscent of the 1980s, the outfit was decorated with a large black bow that featured sashes falling down to the floor.

John meanwhile opted for a more casual ensemble comprised of a pair of fashionably faded jeans, plus a striped sweater and dark blue jacket.

Their latest public appearance came just hours after they were fiercely criticized on social media over the since-deleted photo-booth TikTok.

The encounter was claimed to have occurred at Thursday night’s launch party for the 2024 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue launch party.

Chrissy was one of the cover girls for the latest edition of the Swimsuit Issue, which is celebrating its 60th anniversary this year.

In text over the TikTok, obtained by TMZ, the poster wrote: ‘John Legend & Chrissy Teigen just kicked us out of the photo booth after we waited 30 mins to get pics.’

The message was accompanied by a video that showed John and Chrissy sidling into a photo-booth – while a group of girls appeared to still be using it.

John’s voice could be heard offscreen saying: ‘We’re gonna sneak in if you don’t mind,’ before he and Chrissy appeared in the frame.

The girls agreed to vacate the photo-booth to make way for the celebrities, but evidently took some time to gather their belongings and print their pictures.

Chrissy and John stood behind them throughout, with her looking increasingly impatient and him leaning in to whisper in her ear.

Several social media users were able to share their reactions to the TikTok video as it went viral – before it was deleted from the platform.

‘Chrissy in a whole other universe,’ while others marveled at: ‘The hand motion to move,’ with one writing simply: ‘the hand motion’ with a crying emoji.

‘Don’t they have like a billion pics of themselves?’ wrote one exasperated viewer. ‘Probably have a booth in their house.’

Others remarked that the girls should have refused to leave the photo-booth, with one saying: ‘Would’ve said actually I do mind cause what,’ and another commenting: ‘That’s on y’all bc I personally would’ve stayed.’

Chrissy is currently navigating a return to public life three years after her cyberbullying scandal, in which she was accused of having told the then-teenage Courtney Stodden over private message to commit suicide.

The controversy erupted in 2021 and torpedoed Chrissy’s career, causing her to be dropped by a string of brands including Macy’s, Target and Bloomingdales.

As the outrage against her mounted, Chrissy even withdrew from Safely, the cleaning supplies brand she herself started with Kris Jenner.

Chrissy had posted a string of tweets about Courtney in 2011, when Courtney had just risen to notoriety as the ‘child bride.’

At the age of only 16, Courtney married 50-year-old acting coach Doug Hutchinson, causing the pair to be heaped with furious opprobrium.

During that period, Chrissy posted several tweets attacking Courtney, including one controversially telling the teenager to ‘go to sleep forever.’

Courtney later publicly alleged that the tweets were not the whole story, claiming Chrissy would ‘privately DM me and tell me to kill myself.’

In the course of her 2021 cyberbullying scandal, Chrissy was also denounced for various other insults she had lobbed at celebrities on Twitter years earlier.

One of the offending remarks was a 2011 post in which she joked that Lindsay Lohan ‘adds a few more slits to her wrists when she sees emma stone.’

Chrissy was also slated for the fact that in 2013, she slammed nine-year-old Oscar nominee Quvenzhané Wallis as ‘cocky’ and Teen Mom’s Farrah Abraham as a ‘w****.’
