Chris Robshaw’s Wife Camilla Kerslake Stirs Feud with ‘Experienced Dancers’ Comment

Strictly Come Dancing star Chris Robshaw’s wife has ignited a fresh feud by hitting out at ‘experienced dancers’ on the scandal-plagued show.

The BBC show has faced complaints from fans that some celebrity contestants have an unfair advantage, as West End star Amber Davies and Emmerdale actor Lewis Cope have previous dance training.

Chris took to the Strictly dancefloor with his professional partner Nadiya Bychjova to perform a Samba to EMF’s Unbelievable during Saturday’s live show, finishing in second to last place on the leaderboard with just 14 points.

Camilla appeared to make her feelings on the topic known when she replied to a comment posted by Love Island star Amber Gill, after she shared a sweet tribute to her husband following his first performance.

Posting snaps of Chris and Nadiya during their first dance, she captioned the post: ‘Proud forever. 

‘Up against people with years of experience when you’ve never even done a 2 step, opening the whole season and starting with one of the hardest dances going. 

‘They tested you HARD. You and @nadiyabychkova blew me, and the crowd away. Definitely some lessons for next week but you were absolutely astonishing. 

‘I couldn’t hold it together at all. We love you @chrisrobshawrugby. Team #SeeQuins. Let’s GOOOOOO.’

Amber commented: ‘Unpopular opinion: I think having people with so much dance experience is unfair.’

Camilla then replied: ‘The experience differences are absolutely wild. Definitely.’ 

While both Lewis and Amber have faced backlash from viewers, neither have had any ballroom or Latin training.

Chris previously joked he ‘wants fans to think he’s been hit by the Strictly curse,’ despite being happily married, as it would get fans talking about his stint on the show.

The former England rugby captain told The Sun: ‘Surely if people think there’s something going on between us, we must be doing something right.

‘Nadiya and I are a team, both totally focused on the dancing and giving it our all week by week.’

Explaining how family is everything to him, he added: ‘Camilla and I are solid, she’s incredibly supportive, and we have a lot of trust in our marriage.’

It comes after Nadiya put Chris Robshaw through his paces with his wife Camilla  and their sons as they shared a sweet training video to Instagram on Sunday.

The BBC professional dancer was seen connecting with her new dance partner and his family as they prepared for their first dance routine on the show.

In the clip, Nadiya was seen holding Chris’s son, Hunter, 13 months, in her arms as she stepped forward and back as Chris mirrored their moves while holding Wilding, four.

Nadiya was then seen leading a group session, including Camilla, 37, as they practiced a basic salsa and the Charleston.

Camilla was then seen having a one-on-one session with Nadiya as they were seen holding each other’s arms and practicing a basic two-step.

Alongside the clip, the opera singer penned: ‘Thanks so much to @madiyabychkova for teaching the family a bit of the Charleston and salsa! Can’t wait for our next lesson!’

This could be seen as the first step in Camilla befriending Nadiya as she vowed to build a connection with Chris’s Strictly Come Dancing partner in a bid to avoid the famous curse.

Classical singer Camilla, who has been married to Chris since 2018, is said to have already invited Nadiya over for dinner amid her plans to strike up a friendship.

The singer is said to be a girls’ girl and is keen to avoid any risk of herself and the professional dancer being pitted against each other.

‘She’s always been very vocal about women supporting each other and has already invited Chris’ partner over for dinner,’ a source told The Sun.

‘She wants to start building a friendship outside of the show in a bid to stop any gossiping around the curse.

‘Chris’s partner is totally on board, they have shared common ground and want to make sure they’re a unified group – rather than Camilla being on the outside.’

The source added that Chris thinks both women will form a bond and he will end up a ‘third wheel’.

Chris nearly turned down the opportunity to be on the show as the family were being stalked, but the pair explained that they were not going to let the situation stop them from enjoying the journey ahead.

She took to her social media to give her fans an update as she explained they have been ‘focusing on family’ and they won’t let recent events ‘define’ them.

In a statement on Instagram, Camilla wrote: ‘Hi loves, I just want to say the biggest thank you for all your kind words and messages this week.

‘Chris and I are so grateful to the press for handling a very difficult situation with such sensitivity.

‘It’s meant we can focus on keeping our little family safe. We’ve truly been overwhelmed by the kindness shown.

‘From here, we’re choosing to move forward. This won’t define us and instead, we’ll be focusing on our family and the exciting journey ahead with Strictly!

‘I don’t know about you, but I’m very ready for the sequins and spray tans to take centre stage.

‘Let’s hope it’s more snake hips and not hip replacement for our boy!

‘If you see us goofing around on socials, know that while we’re navigating a lot behind the scenes, we also want to share the joy, laughter and magic of SCD with you. Strictly is our happy place right now and we’re embracing that fully.

‘Thank you again, from the bottom of our hearts, for lifting us up and surrounding us with so much love. Bring on the sequins!’
