Chris Hemsworth and Elsa Pataky’s M Byron Bay Mansion Looks Run-Down in Shocking Photos

Chris Hemsworth and Elsa Pataky’s $50million Byron Bay mega-mansion is showing signs of wear and tear, looking a world away from the pristine retreat it once was.

Exclusive photos obtained by Daily Mail show patches of moss creeping up sections of the exterior walls of the lavish estate the action star, 42, and his wife Elsa, 49, call home.

It gives parts of the lavish home an unexpectedly weathered look, with dirt and grime also visible on several surfaces, while fallen leaves have collected along the walls and outdoor areas.

Meanwhile, rust is beginning to form on some of the mansion’s metal fixtures, adding to the signs of weathering visible on the exterior.

Small streaks can be seen around railings and fittings, highlighting the effects of the coastal climate on the expansive property.

The images serve as a rare glimpse behind the scenes of one of Australia’s most high-profile homes, showing that even celebrity mansions can be subject to the ravages of time.

While still undeniably impressive in scale and design, the shopping centre-sized estate is clearly not immune to the elements.

Chris and his wife live in the mansion with their three children.

In May, it was reported that fans were going crazy over their Byron Bay pad for a very surprising reason.

The luxury home boasts stunning views of the Pacific Ocean, six sizeable bedrooms, indoor and outdoor gymnasiums, a media room, a spa, and even has a bowling alley.

But, despite all of the property’s lavish amenities, it’s the Hemsworths’ swimming pool that has everyone talking.

At 50 metres long, the infinity pool is Olympic length and, according to fans of the couple, ‘goes on forever’.

So much so that in some pictures, it’s hard to tell where the pool ends and the ocean starts.

What’s even more gobsmacking is the price of the pool, which is estimated to have cost as much as $500,000 to build.

In March, Elsa revealed that the decision to relocate to Australia with husband Chris was all about regaining perspective.

Speaking to News Corp, Elsa said that the couple found Los Angeles, where they were residing previously, too ‘restricting’.

‘When you’re in LA, work suffocates you,’ she said.

She added that Byron Bay was far removed from the constant industry chatter that plagues the City of Angels.

It was a sentiment that Chris shared in an interview with Modern Luxury back in 2020.

‘I love what I do as an actor, but when you are surrounded by it constantly, it becomes a bit suffocating,’ he said.

He added that Byron Bay provided a calmer environment in which to raise children – daughter India and twin boys Sasha and Tristan.

The couple completed the mansion in 2021, and it has skyrocketed in price since.
