250,000 fans flocked to see the legendary band play, however broadcast Chris admitted on his Virgin Radio Breakfast show on Wednesday that he cannot remember the event at all.
He said: ‘Honestly, this is a pinky promise… I genuinely can’t remember being there. And I’m not larging it.
‘Everyone going, “Oh, that’s cute. You would say that because you got to say that to keep up this sort of the signature facade of the 90s,” but I genuinely still can’t remember being there.
‘I didn’t know whether we went or not. We clearly did go. I still can’t remember it, even though there is this photographic evidence.

‘There’s loads of photographs of us there, but I can’t remember it.’
The Manchester band announced on Tuesday their first run of gigs since 2009, with 14 concerts in London, Manchester, Cardiff, Dublin and Edinburgh next summer.
Chris also admitted that he had not heard the exciting news that Liam and Noel Gallagher are reuniting until he was asked to appear on ITV’s This Morning to discuss his memories of the 90s.
He continued: ‘The first I heard about it was via a text, and the text simply said, “This Morning want to know if you’re available to come on for a chat tomorrow re: the Oasis reunion,” and I just texted back “What?” because I didn’t know. I had no idea,’
The radio star has interviewed both the Gallagher brothers on numerous occasions over the years.
Chris said: ‘They were the perfect blend of fantastic, anthemic, profound, famous and infamous. They were so interesting, and they were so sort of knobbly compared to Blur.
‘Blur were brilliant, by the way. I love Blur. But it was just a better story. It was a grittier story, wasn’t it?’
It comes as Oasis said they had received ‘an unprecedented volume’ of entries to a ballot for tickets to their reunion tour.

The band have told fans they will receive a confirmation email if they entered the ballot, which launched last night.
A post on their page on X read: ‘We are aware that many of you are still waiting on a confirmation email. Rest assured they are on their way, as we process an unprecedented volume of entries.
‘Everyone who has filled out the ballot form by 7pm BST today, Wednesday, August 28, will receive an email where they can confirm their entry in the ballot.’
It comes after Spotify reported a 690 per cent increase in Oasis streams globally, along with a ‘significant increase’ in UK streams.
The band’s album tracks and lesser known songs saw a ‘huge increase’ in streams, with The Shock Of The Lightning, Bag It Up and Turn Up The Sun seeing some of the biggest increases.
Announcing the tour yesterday, Oasis said on X: ‘The guns have fallen silent. The stars have aligned. The great wait is over. Come see. It will not be televised.’
UKHospitality’s Kate Nicholls said the industry expects to see huge demand from fans, both from the UK and from abroad, and the tour ‘will no doubt deliver a multi-million-pound’ boost to the British hospitality sector next year.
