Chloë Sevigny has revealed her pick for the Best Supporting Actress category in the upcoming Oscars ceremony.
The stars nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role include Zoe Saldaña for Emilia Pérez, Ariana Grande for Wicked, Felicity Jones for The Brutalist, Isabella Rossellini for Conclave and Monica Barbaro for A Complete Unknown.
The Oscar nominations were announced on January 23 ahead of the ceremony taking place on Sunday, March 2, live from Los Angeles.
In an exclusive interview with DailyMail.com at the Sundance Film Festival, Chloë, 50, shared who she’s ‘rooting for’ after being nominated herself for the category back in 2000 for her role in Boys Don’t Cry, in which she starred alongside Hilary Swank.
‘I mean, I think Isabella Rossellini when you consider her whole career.
‘I think she is deserving, you know, and she’s incredible in that film,’ the actress revealed, referring to Isabella’s role as Sister Agnes in Conclave.

Chloë continued, ‘I’m a big Isabella Rossellini fan. I think she’s contributed to cinema in so many ways and she’s a legend. So, I’m rooting for her.’
Apart from Best Supporting Actress, the other much-anticipated category is Best Actress in a Leading Role.
The stars leading that category include Cynthia Erivo for Wicked, Fernanda Torres for I’m Still Here, Demi Moore for The Substance, Mikey Madison for Anora and Karla Sofía Gascón for Emilia Pérez.
Meanwhile, the actors up for Best Actor in a Leading Role include Ralph Fiennes (Conclave), Timothée Chalamet (A Complete Unknown), Adrien Brody (The Brutalist), Sebastian Stan (The Apprentice) and Colman Domingo (Sing Sing).
The nominations for Best Actor in a Supporting Role include Yura Borisov (Anora), Kiera Culkin (A Real Pain), Edward Norton (A Complete Unknown), Guy Pearce (The Brutalist) and Jeremy Strong (The Apprentice).
On Tuesday, January 28, Chloë attended the world premiere of her new film, Magic Farm, at the Library Center Theatre in Park City, Utah.
She was joined by her co-stars Simon Rex, Joe Apollonio, Camila del Campo and Alex Wolff. The science fiction film was written and directed by Amalia Ulman.
Chloë stars as Edna, who is the face of a media company that travels to Argentina to profile a local musician.

Monica Barbaro also earned a Best Supporting Actress nomination for her role as Joan Baez in A Complete Unknown, starring alongside Timothée Chalamet
However, they’re faced with many challenges after learning they landed in the wrong Latin American country.
Chloë told DailyMail.com about her character Edna, ‘Well the filmmaker [Amalia Ulman] said she was inspired by a few different characters that I played – Nicki in Big Love and a character I played in a movie called Demon Lover.
‘And one more but I can’t recall, so I think she was thinking about those characters when she formed this one.’
The Academy Award-nominated actress also spoke about how she got to ‘play the b**ch’ during an interview with Deadline at the film festival.
‘People toss around “esoteric” but she really does have very specific interests and I was just really impressed with her as a person and I loved [Ulman’s previous film] El Planeta, I found it really inspiring and magical, and I thought she had a really unique voice,’ she said.
‘And so, when she asked me to come on board for this, I was like, “Yes” without even even reading it just because I was so excited by her as an artist and as a filmmaker.
‘And then I read it and I was like, “Oh so I get to play the b*tch.”
‘So I had to come to peace with that and know that my character was bringing a little tension.’

Meanwhile, Simon Rex told DailyMail.com at Magic Farm’s premiere that it was ‘a lot of fun’ starring alongside Sevigny because ‘she’s one of the best actors alive.’
‘You always learn when you work with other actors who are veterans like that, and it was just so much fun to play with her.
‘We had very loose, a lot of improv, you know, a lot of real moments that happened.
‘And it was fun just kind of playing a bickering couple with her and we just hit it off right away. You learn a lot from people like that,’ he shared.
It was revealed in December 2024 that Magic Farm has been acquired by Mubi for release in 2025 in North America and the UK.
Chloë’s other upcoming film, Atropia, also premiered at the Sundance Film Festival.
Although she did not attend the red carpet on January 25, her co-stars – Alia Shawkat, Tony Shawkat and Callum Turner – and the writer and director Hailey Gates attended the premiere.
During the Power of Story conversation that took place hours before Magic Farm premiered, Chloë spoke about how she wants to continue working and how fulfilling directing has been for her.

She previously directed four short films: Lypsinka: Toxic Femininity (2024), White Echo (2019), Carmen (2017) and Kitty (2016).
‘I just want to give back and just keep working. It goes back to me as a kindergartener and being very driven.
‘I feel like I’m a work horse. I love working, I love being on set, I love being around creative people,’ she said during the Sundance panel.
‘I love telling stories and being challenged and I just want to keep working.’
She continued: ‘It’s terrifying when you don’t know what’s coming next, which is why I started directing and I’ve done a few shorts now and I’m trying to develop a few features, but then I keep getting acting jobs.
‘They get in the way, but the directing has been more fulfilling and one of the success feelings is coming from those expressions and being able to have people see these stories that I want to tell.
‘Like Celine [Song] was saying earlier, having people come on board who believe in the story you want to tell, is so much more fulfilling to me than acting.’
