Chloe Madeley says James Haskell divorce has been ‘very volatile’ and reveals she went through a ‘period of depression’ after their split

Chloe Madeley has admitted that her divorce from ex-husband James Haskell has been ‘very volatile’ and revealed she went through a period of depression following their 2023 split.

The personal trainer, 38, who shares three-year-old daughter Bodhi with the former rugby star, 40, spoke candidly about the pain of their separation and the ‘incredibly emotional’ divorce process.

Speaking to The Sun, Chloe said: ‘It’s two years since we separated and it’s been f*****g long enough, our life has very slowly fallen into place as co-parents and as ex-husband and wife.’

While the former couple have often been pictured together on family days out with their daughter, Chloe admitted that navigating divorce has been far from easy.

She explained: ‘It’s fine now, but the divorce process has been incredibly emotional and volatile. We have weeks where everything’s fine and we get on really well.’

She added: ‘And then we have weeks where we don’t agree on something or someone gets frustrated or angry, and then we don’t speak.’

Chloe revealed she now has a strict policy to avoid major rows, explaining that she left the marriage because she didn’t want conflict.

Elsewhere in the interview, she described receiving the court letter confirming their divorce would be finalised on December 30, admitting it made her feel like she had ‘failed’ for the first time since the split.

She added that she doesn’t see the new year as a ‘fresh start’, but rather a time of grieving.

Chloe also ruled out reconciling with James, insisting she doesn’t want another relationship with him after their marriage became ‘dark’, ‘sad’ and ‘painful’.

Despite their differences, she praised James as a father and said their relationship has improved since the split, noting they now co-parent well and still spend time together as a family.

Chloe also revealed she suffered from depression at the start of the separation and required medication, admitting she had to ‘rebuild’ her life with support.

Now, she says she loves being single and feels happy with her life – though she admitted nights can feel lonely once her daughter is asleep and there’s no one to cuddle.

It comes after Chloe revealed she is ‘committed to staying single’.

While Chloe has stayed single, her ex James has been linked to two ladies since they split.

Most recently, it was claimed he was dating Big Brother star Sara McLean.

As James’s new romance came to light earlier this year, Chloe also took to Instagram to share a cryptic post about ‘negative energy’.

Her clip featured a sheep running around a field with a bucket on its head, hinting it was blissfully unaware, and she wrote over the top: ‘Me: It’s so nice in here.

‘She’s at a place in her life where peace is a priority and negativity cannot exist. She is no longer matching energy.

‘She is simply removing herself from any situation that doesn’t vibrate her soul.

‘So if you start moving funny, she’s moving on.’
