Chloe Brockett Claims Weight-Loss Jabs Caused Permanent Vision Issues

Chloe Brockett has claimed that taking the weight-loss jab Ozempic when she was a size 10 has left her with permanent vision problems.

In a new interview, the former TOWIE star, 24, revealed she turned to the injections in a bid to slim down after creeping up a dress size two years ago – and despite suffering side effects, she insists she has zero regrets.

Ozempic is a once-weekly injectable medication containing an ingredient approved primarily for the treatment of type 2 diabetes. While it can lead to significant weight loss as a side effect, it is not officially licensed in the UK as a weight-loss drug.

Doctors have also warned that the jabs haven’t been tested on people who aren’t obese, amid fears the risk of serious side effects could be higher for those of a normal weight.

However, Chloe ignored the warnings and continued taking the jab to help curb her appetite and stay trim for her OnlyFans lingerie shoots.

She told The Sun: ‘I’ve always been curvy with a big bum and big boobs, but I noticed that my belly was looking a bit rounder and I started to feel dumpy after filming Celebs Go Dating for E4.’

She continued: ‘I was absolutely in denial about having put on weight, so I was still squeezing into my size eight clothes, but pictures don’t lie.

‘I jumped on Ozempic as soon as I heard about the weight loss jabs, but it wasn’t long before I noticed the side effects.’

The reality star revealed she would often wake up in the middle of the night craving something sugary, even once resorting to eating a dry pancake drizzled with honey after feeling she might pass out if she didn’t eat something sweet.

Chloe admitted she also suffered severe mood swings and found herself sleeping much more than usual.

She went on to say that she began noticing her eyesight deteriorating, forcing her to wear glasses while driving, something she had never needed to do before.

Admitting her vision had become so poor she could no longer see her dashboard without them, Chloe revealed she now wears contact lenses full-time.

The star added that without her lenses, she can’t see at all, and is convinced her recent vision issues are linked to her use of the weight-loss jab.

Despite the worrying symptoms, Chloe, who shot to fame on TOWIE aged just 18,  chose not to seek medical advice from her GP.

She claimed she feels confident managing the injections herself, adding that she gets them prescribed through a friend who is a nurse.

Chloe said she also feared being judged by doctors and questioned over why she was taking the jabs in the first place.

These days, she balances the weight loss injections with Pilates sessions and regular trips to the gym, though she still stands by the ‘quick fix’.

While she avoids the scales, Chloe believes she’s lost around a stone, bringing her back down to her usual nine-stone frame.

Reflecting on her health concerns, the TV star said she noticed a clear correlation between starting the jabs and the deterioration of her eyesight.

Although she finds it ‘annoying’, Chloe reasoned that she probably should have been wearing her glasses more regularly anyway, confessing that the ordeal has given her the kick to wear her contact lenses all the time.

She added that she will likely get laser eye surgery at some point in the future.

After her vision worsened, Chloe decided to swap her Ozempic injections for another brand, taking between 2.5 and 5mg doses each month. However, she still experiences bouts of low mood and tiredness.

A change in vision is listed as one of the more serious potential side-effects, on both Ozempic and Wegovy’s safety information for patients.

Since quitting TOWIE last year, the 24-year-old has launched a successful career on OnlyFans and continues to work with several brands on social media partnerships.

But Chloe admitted her confidence took a knock after gaining weight, saying she struggled to feel comfortable in her own skin.

She confessed that she once hated posing in bikinis or lingerie for photos, but now feels far more confident in front of the camera.

And although she credits the jabs for boosting her self-esteem, Chloe admitted the injections definitely have their ‘ups and downs.’

She revealed she has now been on and off the weight-loss jabs for two years and only takes them as and when she feels she needs to.
