Chicken Heiress Sue Ingham Sells Sydney Apartment for .5 Million

Sue Ingham, the wife of the late chicken brand founder Jack Ingham, has reportedly scored a whopping $29.5 million for the sale of a luxurious harbourside apartment in Sydney.

Featuring stunning water views, the sprawling Point Piper penthouse boasts four bedrooms and four bathrooms.

Ingham bought the property in 2010, which is situated in an exclusive six unit block in one of Sydney’s most in demand postcodes, for $12, 245,000.

The Wentworth Courier reported on Tuesday that the sale was made off market and was a record for the neighbourhood, though sales agents did not confirm details when contacted.

According to the publication the next top sale in Point Piper for an apartment recently was $22 million for the nearby Vilon penthouse in February.

Situated 6 km from the CBD, the Ingham’s flat features an open plan dining and lounge area, a private kitchen with adjoining ‘family’ space and large deck that offers a commanding view of Sydney’s famous harbour.

There’s also a second deck off the main bedroom, which boasts a huge en suite and a walk in wardrobe.

The kitchen, meanwhile, features a cool room and butler’s pantry.

Other highlights include left access and a gym.

According to the report there is speculation that Ingham has ‘downsized’ and is readying to move into another Point Piper address worth $16 million.

It comes after Jack Ingham’s daughter Sue (from another marriage, and not related to wife Sue Ingham) listed her swanky Darling Point two-storey mansion in May last year for $18 million.

Boasting dazzling harbour views and located in one of the city’s most sought-after neighbourhoods, the heritage property features five bedrooms and four bathrooms.

It finally went under the hammer in November for $14.05 million.

He was also a well-known horse racing breeder.

Jack and his brother Bob Ingham established their poultry-breeding business in 1953, and by the 1970s had built Ingham’s into the biggest chicken and turkey operation in Australia.

Bob and Jack earned a spot on The Australian Financial Review’s first-ever Rich List in 1983 with a combined wealth of $150million.

The family has stayed on the Rich List ever since. Sue was Jack’s third wife.
