Cheryl Burke has raved about having ‘great’ sex with herself following her divorce from Matthew Lawrence nearly three years earlier.
The 41-year-old Dancing With The Stars pro – who recently hit back at trolls over Ozempic rumors – got candid about her celibacy during an interview with Us Weekly published on Thursday.
The star was previously married to Matthew from 2019 until their divorce was finalized in September 2022.
‘I touch myself all the time,’ she told the outlet. ‘It’s great. We are good to go. There’s no emotional baggage that comes with it.’
Cheryl explained that she doesn’t have much of a dating life at the moment because she still needs time ‘to heal still in that sense.’
When questioned what could end her celibacy, the dancer simply replied, ‘Probably actually dating.’

Cheryl continued, ‘I’m no casual person. I also need to first not be a bad picker, period. If it happens, it happens.’
She then opened up about how she has changed over the years and revealed what she is now looking for.
‘I no longer chase chaos dressed as fun. I no longer tolerate connections that require me to abandon myself. And I no longer mistake numbness for peace.’
The TV personality first crossed paths with her now-ex in 2006 – who is also the brother of actor Joey Lawrence.
The pair began dating the following year but broke up in 2008. But they rekindled their romance years later in 2017.
‘When we first dated, we were both young and immature, and I was so new to [Hollywood],’ Cheryl told People at the time. ‘Now we are both adults and feel balanced.’
Matthew popped the big question in 2018 and the former couple tied the knot in May 2019 during a romantic ceremony in San Diego.
However after only three years of marriage, Cheryl filed for divorce in February 2022 and cited ‘irreconcilable differences’ as the reason behind the split.

‘I touch myself all the time,’ she told the outlet. ‘It’s great. We are good to go. There’s no emotional baggage that comes with it’

When the divorce news came to light, she said in a statement: ‘I know I have always said that I’m an open book with you guys, I do strive to be, and in writing this I’ve realized there isn’t really an easy way to announce that my marriage is ending.
‘I hope you can understand that I will not be commenting any further at this time and am asking for understanding and privacy. Thank you all for all the kind words & support you’ve given me.’
Last year, Cheryl offered insight into her split from Matthew during an appearance on the Amy And T.J. podcast and explained she ‘learned that you can’t buy love.’
The professional dancer added, ‘I tried to not obviously, I didn’t buy my ex husband, but I definitely would say I was the breadwinner. I supported us, and I don’t think it’s black and white.
‘It made me feel good, but then it didn’t necessarily make the relationship good,’ she expressed.
Matthew is also known for his time in front of the camera and has appeared in projects such as Mrs. Doubtfire and the series Boy Meets World.
He has since been romantically linked to TLC member Rozonda Thomas – who also goes by the moniker ‘Chili.’
Back in 2023, Cheryl said that she hasn’t ruled out tying the knot once again and told Entertainment Tonight, ‘I totally would get married again.’

The star added, ‘I mean, I know we should probably go from like meeting somebody first, not like straight to the altar, but our time is limited on this planet.’
Following the divorce, Cheryl recently reached a big milestone last month in July as she celebrated seven years of sobriety.
The dancer jumped to her main Instagram page to upload a series of slides, while one had the message: ‘7 years sober. And not one thing I thought I’d miss is worth going back for. If you’re struggling: there is another way. I promise you, it’s beautiful.’
She also included a lengthy caption to her fans while reflecting on her sobriety and penned, ‘7 years ago, I thought sobriety would mean losing everything.
‘The fun. The freedom. The fearless version of me I thought only showed up after a drink. But what I didn’t realize back then… Was that the escape I craved was really from myself. And the girl I ran from? She was the one waiting to save me.’
Cheryl – who has competed on 26 seasons of Dancing With The Stars – later explained that she will ‘no longer chase chaos dressed as fun. I no longer tolerate connections that require me to abandon myself.
‘And I no longer mistake numbness for peace. What I thought I’d miss in sobriety? Was never real to begin with.’
The media personality then offered encouraging words to those who are also on the same journey and said, ‘If you’re reading this and wondering if it’s possible – I promise you, it is.

‘There’s a whole world on the other side of rock bottom. And it’s so much more beautiful than I ever imagined. Here’s to 7 years sober. Here’s to choosing clarity, wholeness, and me. One day, one hour, one minute at a time.’

When asked by Us Weekly if she used the medication to lose pounds, she replied, ‘No, I have not. There’s just no way, I faint at the sight of needles.’
The star further explained that she altered her ‘eating habits’ and ‘stopped eating past 7 p.m. and it changed my whole body. It wasn’t so much about a number on the scale as it was about how I feel.’
