Cher is sharing rare insight into her 40-year age gap romance with Alexander ‘AE’ Edwards.
The 79-year-old icon was interviewed by Gayle King on CBS Mornings this week to promote her new gelato, dubbed Cherlato.
During the sit-down conversation, she opened up about her three-year relationship with the 39-year-old music executive.
‘We laugh all the time, you know? I just love him,’ she gushed about her much-younger beau.
When it comes to critics of the unlikely pairing, the singer had one word: ‘Whatever.’
She emphasized, ‘They’re not living my life. Nobody knows what goes on between us, but we just have a blast.’

On the subject of her age, the legendary recording artist said her partner ‘just says, “You know, you get older, but your spirit is younger.”‘
She praised her boyfriend as she declared, ‘I think he’s beautiful. He’s really talented. He’s one of the most talented persons I’ve ever met.’
Cher also shared that she enjoys spending time with Alexander’s six-year-old son Slash, whom he shares with ex-girlfriend Amber Rose.
The If I Could Turn Back Time hitmaker described the youngster as ‘smart, funny’ and ‘a delight.’
‘I used to say, “God, give me a toddler and a man,”‘ she revealed to Gayle before saying she got ‘exactly’ what she asked for.Â
She previously addressed her age difference with Alexander during an appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show in December 2022.
‘Well, on paper it’s kind of ridiculous,’ Cher admitted. ‘But in real life we get along great. He’s fabulous and I don’t give men qualities that they don’t deserve.’
The couple most recently stepped out together last week at Swarovski Masters of Lighting Opening Celebration in Los Angeles.

Engaging her 3.5 million followers, she captioned snapshots of the two cozying up together: ‘L I V @valentino.beauty @ae4president #54.’
‘Back Again,’ the showbiz vet wrote alongside another post that showed the duo being swarmed by paparazzi.
The songstress, born Cherilyn Sarkisian, and her man were also spotted out in the Big Apple weeks earlier, walking hand-in-hand.
Over the past three years the two have regularly enjoyed glamorous outings, as they both love fashion and socializing.
In July they wined and dined alongside industry giants Pat McGrath and Edward Enninful while attending Dolce & Gabbana’s Alta Moda Roma event in Italy.
