The comedian, 48, uploaded adorable photos of the dog, revealing that he’s a ‘full blown chow chow rescue.’
She humorously noted that Doug has her ‘favorite body type. FULL-BODIED.’
Poking fun at herself, Handler teased that Doug ‘slept in my bed on our first night. Just the way I like it!’
She went on to lovingly embrace her new dog while posing for a duo of snaps during one of his first outings.

Handler shared her post just one day before the Critics Choice Awards ceremony, which she is set to host.
She previously served as the host of the awards show during last year’s iteration of the event.
It was revealed that the comedian had signed on to reprise her role as the program’s host this past December.
Handler went on to share a statement to publicly express her excitement about her return to the awards show.
She stated via The Hollywood Reporter: ‘I am very happy and excited to be hosting the Critics Choice Awards again this year, as last year was one of the most fun nights I’ve had.’
‘There is no greater reward than making fun of actors and then getting drunk with them afterward. It’s an honor,’ she added.
The Critics Choice Awards’ CEO Joey Berlin also stated: ‘We are thrilled to have Chelsea Handler join us once again to host the Critics Choice Awards. After having her as our host last year, we couldn’t wait to have her back up on the stage again.’

Handler is also preparing for the kickoff of her upcoming run of standup performances, entitled the Little Big B*** tour.
The television personality is currently set to begin her run of shows with an appearance in Edmonton, Alberta on January 19.
The comedian will then spend much of April touring throughout the United States, and the second leg of her tour will conclude in Verona, New York, on May 26.
Handler is then scheduled to make her way through Australia and New Zealand, and her run of shows will finish off with a show in Sydney on July 13.
