Charlotte Kirk, the actress who took down a Hollywood exec, reveals new engagement and pregnancy news.

Charlotte Kirk, the British actress thrust into the heart of a Hollywood scandal that brought down one of the most powerful executives in the film industry, has revealed she is seven months pregnant with her first child – and newly-engaged.

The Ocean’s 8 and How To Be Single actress, 33, became internationally known after a secret affair with NBCUniversal vice-chairman Ron Meyer came to light in 2020, triggering his abrupt resignation and sparking a swirl of headlines around the world.

The saga, which unfolded years after the relationship itself, left Charlotte at the centre of an unwanted global firestorm involving studio powerbrokers, leaked messages and high-stakes corporate fallout.

Now, speaking exclusively to the Daily Mail, the actress says she has rebuilt her life entirely – and is preparing to welcome a baby boy in January with her new fiance, Karlos Ways, 39.

Charlotte said: ‘I’m in such a wonderful place in my life right now both personally and professionally. I feel incredibly grateful and happy… This new chapter feels so full of love, excitement, and possibility.’

Charlotte and Karlos, a British film producer originally from Columbia, have been together for over three years.

She added: ‘We met through mutual friends, very unexpectedly, and it was one of those rare moments where everything immediately felt easy. The chemistry was instant.’

Karlos proposed during a private trip earlier this month: ‘The proposal was incredibly thoughtful and intimate – exactly what I would have wanted…

‘It wasn’t a big public moment; it was private and deeply meaningful between the two of us… he caught me completely off-guard in the best possible way.’

The couple are now discussing wedding plans, which they intend to keep low-key.

She said: ‘We’re leaning toward something small, personal, and centered around family and close friends. Nothing extravagant – just something that feels like “us”.’

She said of her husband-to-be: ‘He’s the most supportive, grounded, and steady person I’ve ever known…

‘What made me know he was the one is the way he handles both the good moments and the difficult ones – always calm, always kind, and never shaken.

‘He makes me feel genuinely safe and seen, and that’s incredibly rare.’

Charlotte was previously engaged to British film director Neil Marshall, 55, best known for The Descent, HBO’s Game of Thrones, Doomsday and the 2019 reboot of Hellboy.

The pair began dating in 2018 and worked together on several projects, including the action-horror The Lair and the gangster thriller Duchess. Neil also directed Kirk in The Reckoning, a supernatural drama released in 2021.

Their romantic relationship ended in 2019, two years after he had proposed.

Despite enduring one of the most scrutinised scandals that Hollywood has seen in years, Charlotte has continued to work hard in the industry.

In September, her erotic thriller, Compulsion, premiered in the US. She both stars in and co-wrote the film, which follows a dangerously intense psychological dynamic between two characters.

‘Filming it was intense and creatively challenging in the best way,’ she said. ‘The story explores desire, obsession, and the darker corners of human psychology… my character is complex and layered.’

Her action thriller Exit Protocol, featuring Charlotte alongside Dolph Lundgren and Michael Jai White, was released in the US earlier this month.

Next year she is set to appear in the film Christmas and Chaos, starring opposite The White Lotus star Jason Isaacs, and comedy slasher film Jackie The Stripper, alongside Patsy Kensit.
