It’s been two decades since Charlie Sheen and Denise Richards divorced, but the actor can’t seem to get over how ‘messy’ it was.
While on his book tour in Atlantic City, New Jersey, over the weekend, Sheen, 60, discussed his past divorces and urged a fan to get a prenup, especially after going through what he went through with Richards, 54, and Brooke Mueller, 48.
When speaking about his time on Two and a Half Men – which he starred on from 2003 to 2011 – he said, ‘As far as the memories, the great memories, there’s a lot of them. We were cooking with gas for a while there until that thing,’ he told the audience, seemingly referring to his firing from the sitcom.
‘I just got really overloaded. It really wasn’t so much about what was going on at the job. It was all the personal s**t that it was nearly impossible not to bring with me to work.’
He continued: ‘I had four children during those eight years and went through two really messy divorces, you know. And pricey!’
According to a Daily Mail reporter who attended the event, a fan then asked him during the Q&A portion, ‘As a 23-year-old, you’re saying to sign the prenup, right?’

The Two and a Half Men star and Richards were last seen together on September 4 when she attended the Los Angeles premiere of his documentary, ‘aka Charlie Sheen’
Sheen responded, ‘If you can. If you can, yeah. You’re gonna get pushback, you’re gonna get pushback. But maybe she needs you to sign one. Maybe it goes both ways.’
The Wall Street actor was married three times: once to Donna Peele from 1995 to 1996, a second time to Richards from 2002 until 2006, and then a third time to Mueller from 2008 until 2011. It was reported that he did not have a prenup with Richards, but he did have one with Mueller.
The moderator at the Charlie Sheen: Alive On Stage event at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino brought up the actor’s three marriages during the talk.
‘You were married three times, and the amount of lovers you’ve had in your life – can you even begin to count them?’ the moderator asked.
‘No,’ Sheen responded. ‘But why would I want to? It kind of cheapens it.’
In his memoir, he opened up about having ‘weird but fun’ sexual experiences with men. However, he did not address this during Saturday’s show.
One of the actor’s exes, Dolly Fox, however, made a surprise appearance at Hard Rock’s Sound Waves. He wrote about dating her in the ’80s in his book, The Book of Sheen. He said, ‘Nice to see you,’ and she stood up and asked him a question about movies he’s interested in making nowadays.
During his interview, Sheen, who has been sober for eight years, did not hide the fact that he still smokes, as he smoked his vape onstage multiple times throughout the evening, telling the crowd, ‘I need some nicotine.’

Sheen’s ex from the ’80s, Dolly Fox, made an appearance during the Q&A at Sound Waves inside Hard Rock Hotel on Saturday when she stood up to ask the actor a question
Sheen has five children: Cassandra Jade Estevez, 40, whom he shares with his ex Paula Profit; Sami Sheen, 21, and Lola Sheen, 20, whom he shares with Richards; and his twins Bob and Max Sheen, 16, whom he shares with Mueller.
While talking about his sobriety journey, he shared the reason behind his decision to remain sober, saying it’s for his kids, who are ‘counting’ on him.
‘I got all these kids and they’re counting on me. I really take a lot of pride in being that guy you can call. It doesn’t matter when or where. I’m consistent without being predictable,’ he said. ‘That’s what I strive for. I feel like there’s such nobility in that.
‘Plus, I’ve gotten to a place where it’s not a me-first existence. I’ve got kids that need my attention daily, and that’s just something that I put first, and I can’t do any of that loaded, you know. I really can’t… I made a decision and I’m sticking to that.’
Sheen did not go into detail about which ‘kids’ he was referring to. It’s publicly known that he’s estranged from Sami after she revealed on her mom’s reality show, Denise Richards & Her Wild Things, that she had not spoken to her father in five months.
The OnlyFans star apparently blocked him in April after he sent her ‘crazy stuff’ after a heated exchange, and he also did not call her after she got nose surgery.
Sheen addressed their estrangement in September, telling People magazine, ‘There’s some stuff going on with Sami, but we’ll fix it,’ he said.
Meanwhile, he reunited with his estranged ex Richards at the Los Angeles premiere of his Netflix documentary ‘aka Charlie Sheen’ on September 4.

The RHOBH alum showed her support, writing on Instagram at the time, ‘We both looked at each other on the red carpet and just laughed. Charlie asked, “Is it 2002?” and I said, “It sure feels like it.” Who would have thought? What a journey we’ve had- so many ups and downs.
‘But when life gets tough, deep down we both know we can count on each other. I’m so proud of him, and truly honored he asked me to be part of his story. Congrats, Charles.’
Richards, who’s currently going through her own divorce – this time with ex Aaron Phypers – appears to be on good terms with Sheen, even though she recently responded to Sheen’s claim that she once cashed a $1 million check, which he gave to her as a joke.
Posting on her Instagram story last month, Richards shared a photo of the check in question, and captioned it, ‘Found this during my recent move. I never cashed it, @charliesheen. Is it still good?!’
