If you were asked who the most famous pop star on the planet was right now you may well think of Taylor Swift.
The billionaire superstar, 35, - known for her particularly dedicated and sometimes obsessive fan base - is often approached by lovers of her music when she is in public, while most of her outings are documented by paparazzi.
Clearly understanding the obligations of her fame, the Style hitmaker has made a name for herself as the 'nice girl' of the cut-throat music industry, always making time for her fans, signing autographs for them and posing for selfies at events.
The warm relationship with her fan base even extended to her inviting groups of them to her own home to let them listen to some of her earlier albums like Red and 1989 just before they were released to the general public.
So it's no surprise many are now comparing her to Chappell Roan - who made headlines over the weekend when it was claimed her security team in made one of her 11-year-old fans - 's daughter Ada - cry.
The Pink Pony Club hitmaker, 28, has become known for her 'diva' outbursts and celebrity spats which are now risking her alienating her huge fan base as many have urged her to leave the industry if she can't handle it.
Chappell Roan fans have implored her to 'be more like Taylor Swift' after a security incident in Brazil over the weekend - as they point out how kind the billionaire superstar is to her loyal fans

Things came to a head on Saturday when footballer Jorginho took to Instagram to claim his stepdaughter Ada, who wife Catherine Harding shares with actor Jude, was threatened by the singer's bodyguard after the child spotted the star in the same hotel in Brazil.
Amid a huge backlash the singer responded in a video insisting it was not her personal security and she did not ask anyone to approach the child.
However, the apology , nor with many social media users, who have been quick to point out Chappell's lengthy history of scandals.
Fans have been responding to the incident, comparing her behaviour to that of Taylor and - who are arguably much bigger stars but never complain about their passionate fans, instead embracing the reality of being famous with all its upsides and downsides.
One penned on X as they reacted to the Chappell news: 'You can't be a pop star without the fame consequences - gets it about a hundred times worse than Chappell but she has dealt with very differently.',
' would have a mental breakdown if she found out taylor swift used to invite her fans to her house and baked cookies for them', another wrote as they reshared a video of Taylor making sure to go back and sign an autograph for a fan after she realised she'd accidentally walked past her in a crowd.
Another said: 'I'm not having any 'It was her bodyguard, not her' stuff. I've seen Taylor Swift and Lady Gaga chastise their security for being too overbearing with fans, the celebrity can control how their bodyguards behave. Chappell let hers act that way.'
Others commented: 'All these younger artists have the perfect role model right there in front of them', - as they referred to Taylor.
'And play her album weeks before it came out and meet them and talk to them and hug them and thank them for being there for her.', another added.
In fact at one City Chiefs game Taylor previously attended to support her NFL: star fiancé in 2024 she was seen telling off one of her security guards.
As Taylor made her way through the stadium that day her security shouted at photographers, aggressively telling them: 'Guys stay back!'
Taylor quickly turned to them and corrected them as she quipped: 'Stay back, please...'.
Taylor, who notably has been in the industry much longer, has accrued a larger fan base than Chappell currently has, yet many argue she handles the fame with more kindness.
Just this month, Chappell has found herself at the centre of two controversies, first after an outburst at fans in Paris, and again after her the security incident in Brazil.
Two weeks ago, several fans were on the receiving end of one Chappell's viral outbursts after she filmed herself confronting the group who had allegedly been following her around the French capital.
The video, filmed by an onlooker, showed Chappell saying she felt 'disregarded as a human' after being approached by fans.
'I'm just trying to go to dinner, and I've asked these people several times to get away from me,' she says. Chappell then focused on one fan who continued to ask for an autograph.
The musician said: 'This person I've asked several times to go away, and they will not… They're hiding their face, because they're ashamed.'
Chappell and Taylor are seen together at the Grammys last year

, insisting the singer should 'own your fame and cheer up'.
Writing on X, the Karma Chameleon hitmaker penned: 'It's probably not helpful but I have been doing this fame thing for a while and you learn slowly and painfully that you don't get a free pass once you turn yourself into a bird of paradise.'
'I watched @ChappellRoan filming the paps in Paris and I laughed because I have kicked off at them many times. The trick is to own your fame.'
'Yes, it's annoying at times but so is being ignored and told you're a 'has-been'. Life is always now and I think Chappell looks great but cheer up girl.'
'The world is at your feet stop kicking it! It takes so much more time to say no to a picture or a signature. Boundaries are boring. Break them with the magic of kindness!'
Chappell did not respond to Boy George's criticism but found herself in hot water again last weekend after an alleged altercation between her security team.
Quickly after she hit the big time, Chappell said she was already 'tired' of the attention that comes with mainstream breakthrough – particularly when she's 'not in work mode' and 'clocked out'.
While her relationship with her adoring fans typically depends on where she is, how she is feeling at the time and what she is doing.
As a result, her diva antics have sparked debate online over whether the fast-rising star is being a prima donna or simply just concerned for her safety.
Chappell has even if it becomes 'too dangerous', with some fans defending she just wants to be 'an artist, not a celebrity'.
In 2024 the hitmaker slammed fans for 'harassing' her and 'stalking' behavior and said she doesn't 'give a f***' if that makes her 'selfish'.
She discussed dealing with attention on an episode of The Comment Section podcast and said at the time she had 'pumped the brakes' on fame.
'People have started to be freaks, like, [they] follow me and know where my parents live, and where my sister works,' she told host Drew Afualo. 'All this weird s***.'
Chappell explained that she had made a promise to herself that she would stop making music if fans gave her 'stalker vibes' or made her family feel as if they were in any 'danger.'
She later stood by her stance on Instagram in a six page statement, she then turned off comments because 'this isn't a group conversation.'
In a lengthy statement, she wrote, 'I'm not afraid of the consequences for demanding respect.'
The singer added: 'This isn't a new situation. Why is a girl expressing her fears and boundaries so infuriating?'
'For the past 10 years I've been going non-stop to build my project and it's come to the point that I need to draw lines and set boundaries.'
'I don't agree with the notion that I owe a mutual exchange of energy, time, or attention to people I do not know, do not trust, or who creep me out - just because they're expressing admiration.'
Jorginho hit out at the singer after he claimed her security staff left his stepdaughter Ada in tears (pictured with wife Catherine Harding, their son, Jax, four, and Ada - who Catherine shares with Jude Law)
The drama kicked off when Catherine's husband, former Chelsea and Arsenal footballer Jorginho posted a lengthy statement on Instagram, publicly criticising Chappell's security
Amid a huge backlash the singer responded to Jorginho's post in a video shared to Instagram on Sunday, in which she insisted it was not her personal security and she did not ask anyone to approach the child
Catherine added that Chappell was right to say she 'didn't notice anything' because nothing happened and claimed all her daughter did was walk silently past the hitmaker's table.
