Channel Seven news reporter Melina Sarris reveals she’s pregnant with her second child after heartbreaking miscarriages

Channel Seven star Melina Sarris has opened up about her impending baby joy after suffering a heartbreaking string of miscarriages.

The news reporter is currently 23 weeks pregnant with her second child after she and husband Jonathan Iaquinto welcomed their first child Romeo, three.

However, Melina revealed to the Herald Sun that she had lost three pregnancies in the last 12 months as well as another miscarriage before Romeo was born.

She told the publication that her pregnancy had defied the odds with doctors telling her to ‘stop trying.’

‘I fell pregnant again when Romeo was 14 months and I’ve lost one at 11 weeks, 20 weeks and just over six weeks in the space of a year,’ Melina admitted.

‘We said, “Let’s give it one last shot”, and we went through IVF and were lucky it happened first go.’

She also revealed that she had grown tired of ‘telling people and retracting it,’ but remained confident of a happy outcome this time around.

‘We are blessed to have one healthy child and I am so fortunate now,’ she said.

‘I’m starting to get confident because I can feel it kicking. I’m due end of May and I’m done putting my life on hold so this will be it.’

Melina also told the publication that she would be delivering the baby via C-section.
