Gogglebox family mourns tragic loss as George Gilbey dies at 40 in ‘work accident’, following stepfather’s death from cancer

A Gogglebox family has again been rocked by tragedy after star George Gilbey died aged just 40 after a ‘work accident’.

The former Celebrity Big Brother star’s sudden death marks the second tragic event for the family after George’s stepfather Pete McGarry passed away from bowel cancer in 2021.

It was confirmed by police on Wednesday that George had been working at height when he fell at around 10am that morning but sadly did not survive his injuries.

The father-of-one had a seven-year-old daughter Amelie Iris Gilbey with Gemma Conway in 2016.

George, from Clacton-on-Sea, rose to fame on the second series of Gogglebox with his mother Linda McGarry and step-father Pete in 2013.

The Essex family left the Gogglebox sofa in 2014 when George broke the show’s rules by entering the Celebrity Big Brother house – then on rival Channel 5.

Just four days ago, George posted a beaming selfie on Facebook in which he shared that he had purchased a gym membership.

He captioned the photo of him sweating alongside another picture of a gym card: ‘Done. Full membership.’

His tragic death comes less than three years after his stepfather Pete died at the age of 71.

Pete’s beloved wife Linda revealed that he had been diagnosed with the disease earlier in the year but despite a recent operation to remove the tumour, was told he only had six months to live.

Tragically, he died just days after the prognosis, with Linda, also 71, telling The Sun at the time: ‘Pete was a lovely man and I was so lucky to have him for 25 years.

‘I said to him, ‘We’ve not only been 25 years, it’s been day and night with each other’. He was my life.’

A statement issued on behalf of the family at the time said: ‘We are deeply saddened to announce that Gogglebox star Pete McGarry passed away at the age of 71 this weekend with his family by his side after a short illness.

‘Pete will be dearly missed by the entire Gogglebox family, cast and crew. Our thoughts are with Linda, their children and grandchildren.

‘Since 2000, Pete and Linda have fostered over 100 children and he is a beloved father, husband and grandfather. The family have asked for privacy at this sad time.’

As well as appearing on Gogglebox, Pete and his wife also fostered several children over the years, saying it was something they ‘loved’ doing.

In 2016 Linda told The Daily Star: ‘It’s enhanced our lives so much. It’s very rewarding. I’ve just loved doing it.

‘I always say all you need to be a foster parent is a spare room, a sense of humour and a good heart.

‘I’ve just brought them up as my own. On Mother’s Day I get so many phone calls. They don’t forget you. A lot still regard me and Pete as their parents.’

She added that her son George was just 15 when she and Pete began fostering saying: ‘He’s always classed the other boys as his brothers. He never moaned. He always shared everything.

‘He’s got a good heart. He does drive me mad, but he’s a good boy.’

The first child Linda and Pete fostered was then 11-year-old called Chris, who they went onto adopt.

She explained that Chris was now running a car site, and they were ‘so proud’ despite ‘going through hell’ with him.

Linda confirmed she had no plans to stop fostering, explaining: ‘We won’t stop. While we’re in our house it would be a waste not to because we’ve got room. It’s not a hard job, it’s our way of life. We’ll do it for as long as we can.’

She also urged others to try fostering before going straight into adoption, adding: ‘A lot of people find it scary – we were terrified. But I’ve learned how to deal with them.’

The McGarry family, Linda, Pete and son George, joined the show in series two back in 2013, and also appeared in series three.

After the family left due to George’s CBB stint, Linda and Pete rejoined without him in 2016, and were much loved regulars on the show.

Among them was a hilarious gaffe which saw George remove his shoe by throwing his foot into the air, only for it to land in the middle of Pete’s ‘chippy tea’.

George also previously revealed that his kind-hearted parents even paid off the drug debts of one of their foster children.

Vicky Myers from Coronation Street overcame cancer and divorce to secure her ‘dream’ role on the soap: ‘I am incredibly proud’

Coronation Street star Vicky Myers has voiced her joy at getting a full-time role on the soap, as she opened up on her difficult journey to getting the job.

The actress, 48, has appeared on the soap as four different characters, but has now finally become a regular character.

She plays DS Lisa Swain, who has popped up on the show over the past three years, but now will play a bigger role, already taking centre stage after arresting Roy for suspected murder.

But Vicky has admitted that it is a long time coming, after a difficult period in which she split from her husband and was diagnosed with cancer.

Speaking to The Mirror, she revealed that while taking her nephew for a check-up, a doctor noticed a suspicious mark on her leg, that turned out to be skin cancer.

She admitted how lucky she was it was caught, saying she ‘definitely had an angel watching over me that day’, and needed reconstructive surgery.

Thankfully she recovered, but Vicky said that she then decided to give up on acting after a slew of rejections, saying: ‘I felt financially, mentally and physically I needed a break just to breathe.’

As a single mum to her daughter Meghan, now 28, she said she just ‘couldn’t make it work’ while trying to pay her bills.

But eventually she made her way back onto the acting scene, playing roles in The Five, Ackley Bridge and The Long Shadow, before scoring her Corrie role, admitting: ‘It’s taken me a while to get here, but it’s literally a dream come true.’

Vicky, who is from Stockport, said that Corrie is a right of passage for actors in the North, and gushing: ‘On my very first day, I walked down the cobbles and I thought, “I know you.” I’ve grown up watching the show, so it feels like home.’

Speaking about her tough journey, she admitted: ‘I don’t know if it’s my previous medical history, but I am so proud to be here and just to be living each day to the full. When my husband and I split up, I was quite down, bitter and vengeful, and when I was told I had [cancer], I remember thinking, “If this is it for me, I’ve missed out on all this time with my daughter and I haven’t really been the best person that I wanted to be.”

‘The diagnosis re-centred me and made me focus on what is really important and what makes me happy. Now, every time I go into work and see the Coronation Street sign, it’s quite overwhelming.’

Vicky was revealed to have signed a regular contract to play DS Swain earlier this month, and sharing the news on Instagram wrote: ‘DS Swain is here to stay.

‘Needless to say I’m delighted! Thank you for the congratulatory messages and for your support. It’s greatly appreciated.’

Speaking to Digital Spy about how her role has evolved, she said: ‘I was initially contracted to do eight episodes, so I didn’t expect this to happen at all and it’s really quite something.

‘Obviously you hope it could happen, but my job at that time was to make sure that I got to the truth of this woman, portray that and do it as authentically as I possibly could.

‘Because I think if you run away with yourself beyond that, then you lose sight of what’s right in front of you.

‘So I was very focused on that and then hoped that [more could happen] once I’d done my best and created this powerhouse of a woman and really did my prep with it.

‘I wondered: “Who is she? Why is she there? Why, at that age, is she still a detective sergeant? What is it about this woman that makes her tick?”

‘Then from there it’s progressed in such a wonderful way. But this was never expected at all.’

Dale used his final TV interview to admit it was impossible for him to find love before he died because ‘nobody wants a camp, over 60-year-old man’

Speaking in his final TV interview in 2016 he revealed he could not meet anyone to spend his life because he spent too much time chasing ‘mean and nasty’ men.

He said: ‘Nobody wants a camp, over 60-year-old man. I can’t go on dating sites. I’m quite well known so the minute you see the picture it’s desperately unattractive to another gay man to find a guy in showbusiness on there’. He added: ‘It’s time I went from troubled boys to nice guys’.

In June 2016, two months before he was last seen in public, he said: ‘I would not leave the house for five years. I didn’t want to put one foot in front of the other outside the house. I had a bad break up and I had health issues and I thought, ‘I want to withdraw’.’

A year earlier he failed to make it to his close friend Cilla Black’s funeral, sparking concerns about his health, and had undergone four operations in four years to fix crippling pain in his knees and shoulders.

In his 2002 autobiography he came out as gay but revealed his regret at not telling his mother before her death saying in 2008 that nobody had really ever asked him about his sexual orientation.

In 2018 he had relaunched his TV career with a new Channel 5 show Dale’s Florida Fly Drive but he died before the series was shown in full.

Dale was a household name in the mid 1990s and early 2000s while fronting shows like Supermarket Sweep and The National Lottery: In It To Win It.

He was born in Marylebone, London, in May 1955 to Gary and Sheree, an actress.

Writing in his autobiography, Dale Winton: My Story, in 2002, the much loved star touchingly described his relationship with his beloved mother.

‘In truth though, I always felt my Mum would forgive me anything. She believed in boundaries and was strict, but her love for me was real and unconditional.’

His parents divorced when he was 10 and his father died three years later on the day of Winton’s bar mitzvah.

Just days after he turned 21, Winton discovered his mother, who he adored, had died after taking an overdose of prescription medication.

Distraught, Winton never fully got over the loss of his beloved mother and soon after her death sough help from the Samaritans.

‘I had some really desperate personal moments soon after Mum died,’ he said in his autobiography. ‘On one occasion, I telephoned the Samaritans and went to see one of their volunteers.

His big break came with Supermarket Sweep, which saw contestants racing around a supermarket collecting items.

He hosted the show from 1993 to 2001, and was involved in a 2007 reboot.

From there, Winton moved onto prime-time shows including The National Lottery’s In It To Win It and went onto host his own Christmas specials as well as celebrity guest shows.

Celebrity Big Brother star reveals claimed secret snacks given by bosses during her controversial time in the house

Former Celebrity Big Brother star Frenchy has shocked fans with revelations about her time in the famous house, claiming TV bosses secretly provided her with snacks.

The blonde beauty, 48, made her mark in the 14th series back in 2014 on Channel 5 and became the third housemate to be evicted.

Despite her brief stay, Frenchy, real name Angelique Morgan, stirred up controversy by cutting up fellow contestant Leslie Jordan’s $100 underwear during a heated argument over food.

Speaking to the Daily Star, Frenchy disclosed that Channel 5 executives discreetly supplied her with daily snacks in the diary room, which included dark chocolate, ginger, and lemon.

The star, who is a vegetarian, was given the ‘secret snacks’ to maintain her iron levels, which she feared would plummet due to the limited food options in the house.

Celebrity Big Brother star Frenchy has opened up about her time in the famous house, claiming TV bosses secretly provided her with snacks (pictured during her time on the show in 2014)

She went on to say that whilst Big Brother did not show those scenes, they had asked her prior to the show starting if she needed any medicine or was on a prescription, so she explained about her worry for her irons levels and the foods she would need.

She said: ‘They gave it to me every day in secret. I’d go into the Diary Room, eat it and then go back down and nobody really knew. It was so funny and it was cute that they allowed me to do that.’

Reflecting on her time in the Big Brother house, Frenchy also confessed to losing a shocking amount of weight during her 11-day stint, mainly due to the lack of food.

‘I lost like four kilos because we were barely eating and we ran out of avocados. I was barely eating bread, avocados and pasta but then I would get mad and throw the food on the floor and they we would have no more food.’

Despite the challenges, Frenchy has since pursued a career in reality TV, appearing on shows like Botched, Rock of Love, and Charm School.

Now a popular OnlyFans model, Frenchy has hinted at a potential return to the UK.

The confession comes after ITV rebooted the hotly-anticipated iconic show in March.

Hosted by AJ Odudu, 35, and Will Best, 38, the star studded show includes famous faces such as X Factor judge Louis Walsh, Strictly Come Dancing’s Nikita Kuzmin, legend Sharon Osbourne and former Love Island winner Ekin-Su Culculoglu.

Leaving luxury behind, the celebrities take part the ultimate social experiment and become isolated from the outside world and join in nominations and tough tasks with cameras capturing their every move.

Ekin-Su Culculoglu and Levi Roots became the two latest stars to be booted from the Celebrity Big Brother house during Friday’s double-eviction.

The pair received the least amount of public votes and left the show after viewers opted to save Louis Walsh, Fern Britton and David Potts.

Ekin-Su, 29, was booed by the crowd as hosts AJ and Will announced the result, and she appeared terrified while hugging her fellow housemates goodbye.

Somerset: Wonder Of The West Country

When you’ve had enough of politics, and protest marches, and touched-up royal photographs, sometimes you just want to sit down in front of some comforting, undemanding television.

And it doesn’t come much more comforting and undemanding than Somerset: Wonder Of The West Country (Channel 5).

Not only could we gaze at some of Britain’s most beautiful scenery, but Alan Titchmarsh was doing the voiceover. It couldn’t have been any more relaxing if Channel 5 had plumped up our sofa cushions and delivered a mug of Ovaltine to every viewer.

‘Visitors are flocking to the picturesque towns and cities,’ said Alan. ‘The most famous of these is Bath.’

Ah, now, let me stop you there, Alan. If this were a completely different sort of programme, a pedant with a very rural accent would be on hand to explain that Bath is not really part of Somerset. It left to join Avon in 1974, and there are people in the rest of the county who have never really forgiven it.

Review: Somerset – The Charming Gem of the West Country, Featuring Austen, Ponies, and Alan Titchmarsh: A Comforting TV Experience according to ROLAND WHITE

There is nothing more comforting that gazing at some of Britain’s most beautiful scenery with Alan Titchmarsh does the voiceover

Alan takes viewers to Regency Bath, introducing them to the quant joys of the Jane Austen festival

The programme also takes viewers on a tour of ancient Bath with a glimpse at the Roman spa in the centre of the city

It is now part of what is known as ceremonial Somerset, which I suppose lets the city off on a technicality.

Wherever it belongs, Bath can put on a good show. One of the biggest events of the year is the Jane Austen festival, for which people come from all over the world to dress up in frocks and bonnets and 18th-century army uniform to parade through the city. Takes all sorts.

‘We’re very excited,’ said one lady, looking like an extra from Pride And Prejudice. ‘We’re looking for Mr Darcy.’ Who isn’t, dear?

    ROMANTIC RECIPE OF THE NIGHT

The candidates were sent to Budapest, Hungary, in The Apprentice (BBC1). There, they learnt that the pastry for apple strudel should be so thin that it should be possible to read a love letter through it. So to canoodle, first make your strudel.

A house in one of the city’s poshest streets can apparently set you back £4.75m. ‘Let me just check me piggy bank,’ said Alan.

Little asides like that might be annoying from anybody else, but the former Gardeners’ World presenter is really very good at this sort of work. He’s chirpy and upbeat without being intrusive.

Being chirpy was definitely a help, because this was not exactly cutting-edge television. We visited a potato farm that has also developed a line in doughnuts. The cameras also peered, for reasons that weren’t entirely clear, into the fridge of a bed and breakfast narrow boat on the Kennet and Avon canal. It contained eggs. Also bacon.

The undoubted highlight was an event known as The Gathering, which sounds like the title of a psychological thriller but is actually the annual round-up of Exmoor ponies.

Every autumn they are herded up for a health check to ensure they’re fit to survive the harsh moorland winter. The sight of about 20 ponies cantering across Exmoor was a joy, but there were also moments of light comedy. Farmer Emma Wallace, official guardian of one of the biggest herds, spotted a handful of escapees. She stood in front of them and bellowed ‘Stop!’ in a voice that could probably be heard in the West Midlands.

It is my solemn duty to report that this tactic was not entirely successful.

Love Rat drama undergoes reshoots after co-star Alexis Georgoulis faces rape allegations

A big budget Channel 5 drama with Neil Morrissey had to be re-shot after his co-star Alexis Georgoulis was accused of rape.

Love Rat, which starts tomorrow night, was left in chaos after a legal order that had protected Georgoulis, 49, from being identified as a suspect in the 2020 attack in Belgium was lifted.

After being replaced by former Casualty star Gerald Kyd, more than five weeks of filming featuring lead actor Georgoulis were shot again, with the cast flown back to the Cyprus location. This mainly affected lead actress Sally Lindsay, 50, who plays a divorcee tourist who falls for Georgoulis, a hotel worker who tries to con her out of her life savings. She enlists her ex-husband, played by Men Behaving Badly star Morrissey, 61, to get her money back.

The claim against Georgoulis, who is also a Greek MEP, came to light only when the European Parliament voted to lift his prosecution immunity last June.

Belgian authorities had asked for the immunity to end.

The alleged victim of rape, in early 2020, is a former European Parliament employee. Georgoulis vehemently denies the allegation.

Georgoulis, who played Keeley Hawes’ love interest in ITV’s The Durrells, was dismissed from the Leftist Greek Syriza party as soon as the immunity was raised.

Channel 5 chiefs also quickly axed him from Love Rat.

A source on the show said: ‘When Georgoulis was cast in the role, the allegation of rape against him had already been made. But due to his status as an MEP he was protected by immunity, so Channel 5 had no idea about any of it.

‘Filming finished in December of 2022 and the drama was in the edit stage when the rape allegation was finally made public. Channel 5 had spent a huge amount on the four hour-long episodes but they were left with no choice but to cut him from the drama. A decision was made in summer 2023 to recast the role.’

Mr Kyd, 51, was brought in to replace Georgoulis’s character Niko, meaning former Coronation Street actress Ms Lindsay had to return to Cyprus to refilm all of her character’s scenes with him. The show source said: ‘Sally had to refilm everything she’d previously done with Georgoulis.

‘Fortunately, Neil Morrissey didn’t have that many scenes with this character – it was mainly Sally who had to do it all again, this time with Gerald.’

Jack Tweed, widower of Jade Goody, announces intentions to tie the knot with girlfriend Ellie Sargeant after 15 years since his marriage to the late star.

Jade Goody’s widower Jack Tweed has revealed he is getting remarried to girlfriend Ellie Sargeant, 15 years after his first wife’s death.

Jack, 36, tied the knot in a very emotional wedding ceremony with Jade – who was 27 at the time – a month before she died from cervical cancer in March 2009.

But the TV star is ready to embrace a new chapter as he confirmed his intentions to tie the knot with his partner Ellie, 29.

Speaking to The Mirror, Jack said: ‘This is love again. I never thought I would find it. But 15 years on from Jade passing away, I feel like I’ve found love once more. I’ve taken my time – I couldn’t rush.’

He added: ‘I will always love Jade. That will never change. She was my first love. We shared so many happy memories and heartbreaking ones as well – especially towards the last few months.

‘But I know she’d want me to be happy, she told me that. I finally feel able to move on. It was about finding the right time.’

Jack – who is now an electrician – didn’t shy away from admitting marriage is ‘absolutely’ something he is thinking about, as well as having children.

He confessed he had not ‘felt right’ about marriage since Jade died as it was such a ‘heartbreak’ for both him and the public – admitting time has ‘healed a lot’.

The former TV star met Ellie in 2022 through mutual friends in Essex, and the couple went public with their relationship in September of the same year.

Jack rose to fame in 2007 when he took part in Celebrity Big Brother alongside Jade but after her death two years later, he suffered a heavy depression and turned to alcohol.

But things have certainly took a turn for Jack, who admitted Ellie knew it was going to be hard being in a relationship with someone who used to be in the spotlight.

Now leading a more modest life, he is looking forward to fatherhood, saying having children ‘would be amazing’.

A source previously told MailOnline: ‘Jack has really fallen for Ellie. They already share a close bond and are totally smitten with each other.

‘It’s still early days but pals believe they have a great chance of a future together.’

Jack split from ex-girlfriend Alee Jeffreys in 2021 – whom he met on social media.

The former Celebrity Big Brother star said the relationship was his ‘most serious’ since Jade’s death in 2009.

He previously admitted he found relationships hard because he was ‘always comparing’ girlfriends with Jade.

He also had some kind words for his stepsons Bobby, 20, and Freddie, 19, as he gushed over their success in the limelight and said they remind him very much of Jade.

Earlier last month, Jack has urged Bobby and Freddie not to go on Celebrity Big Brother after revealing how life fell apart after their own appearance back in 2007.

ITV producers are hoping to capitalize on the success of last year’s series by reviving its celebrity spin-off – six years after it aired on Channel 5.

He said: ‘My advice would be to stay well clear. It is not worth it. Me and Jade did not have a great experience. It ended in disaster.

‘I did not feel comfortable in that experience at all. You feel very exposed. It’s constant. It feels enclosed. We met a few nice people but I would not recommend it.

‘It caused a lot of problems. If they asked me what I think having been on it myself I would say avoid it.

‘It was constant boredom. I’d wake up and have a shower and then wonder what to do next. It was soul-destroying at times. It was tough.’

Jack said both of Jade’s sons are ‘flying’ and appearing on the show would not be worth the ‘risk’.

He added: ‘Jade would be so proud of both of them. I know I am. That show caused major problems. It was a total nightmare.

‘They are both doing brilliantly, it just would not be worth the risk. I am sure that is also the official advice they will be getting.

‘These reality shows sound great for young and upcoming people but they have negative sides as well. It’s not all they are meant to be.’

Celebrity Big Brother’s first explosive row has reportedly already broken out between two fiery housemates.

Louis Walsh and Lauren Simon have come to blows after both wanting the same double bed, reports The Sun.

Just hours after they entered on Monday’s launch shows the famous faces headed the bedroom to make claim to where they wanted to sleep.

But former X Factor judge Louis, 71, and Real Housewives of Cheshire star Lauren, 51, both reportedly set eyes on the same large double bed.

Lauren had settled herself on the plush bed only to then be turfed out by Louis who wanted it too, the report claims.

A source told the publication: ‘Lauren isn’t used to not getting her own way but when it comes to age and star-power Louis of course totally outranks her.

‘It was hard for her to form any kind of solid argument as to why he ought to make way for her to enjoy the bigger bed solo over him, but she put up a good fight.

‘It was the first sign of tension in the house, just hours after the celebs entered – and suggests none of them will be shy about sharing opinions or holding their own.’

Lauren and Louis join the likes of Sharon Osbourne, David Potts, Colson Smith and Nikita Kuzmin on the show.

Celebrity Big Brother drew in 2.8million viewers during its ITV launch episode on Monday evening – 700,000 more than the last series launch.

The celebrity spin-off of the reality show last aired on Channel 5 in 2018 but was axed after its viewing figures for both the celeb and civilian series dropped.

The first episode of the final celebrity Channel 5 series drew in 2.1 million viewers, peaking with a total of 2.5 million viewers.

However, the ITV relaunch proved to be a ratings hit, as it peaked at 3.2 million viewers across all devices – its highest launch since 2016.

According to overnight reports, during its linear air time alone, ITV1 had more than double the audience of any other channel.

The new series also secured the highest 16-34 audience of the night, with 463,000 and a 42.5 per cent audience share.

It also beat the launch of the civilian series, which aired in October and saw 2.5million people tune in to watch the show return to screens.

Celebrity Big Brother aired for the first time in six years on Monday night as 12 new housemates – and a brand new house lodger – arrived.

The launch episode, which aired on ITV for the first time ever, welcomed a host of recognisable faces from the showbiz industry ahead of a possible three-week stint.

Hosts AJ Odudu and Will Best were on hand to greet the celebrities outside of the iconic house, before they headed inside to get acquainted.

However, as the stars of reality TV, soapland and social media arrived, viewers complained that they didn’t recognise any of the contestants.

Celebrity Big Brother fans said they were let down by the confirmed line-up of the new series and claimed they had to Google most of their names.

But if the first episode is anything to go by, viewers will be anything but disappointed, as it featured some hilarious moments from the cast.

Within minutes of the episode starting, Sharon had already kissed AJ on the lips and Louis had let slip that he knew ‘Mrs O’ was waiting inside.

    Who is Bradley Riches?

Bradley Stephen Riches was born in Surrey, England on December 11, 2001.

The 22-year-old actor is best known for portraying James McEwan in the hit international Netflix show, Heartstopper.

Bradley’s role was quite small in the beginning of the smash series, however by the second season his storyline grew substantially.

During this time, his character developed a crush on bookworm Isaac Henderson (Tobie Donovan), who was struggling to juggle their relationship alongside accepting his asexual identity.

Bradley, who was diagnosed with autism at the age of nine, has been entertaining audiences in on-stage productions since 2016.

Featuring in shows such as Goodnight Mister Tom, A Christmas Story: The Musical and Footloose, the actor shared that he uses his craft as a form of ‘escapism’.

He told Metro: ‘Acting is an escapism for me. I feel free and understood when playing characters when, most of the time, I felt misunderstood as Bradley.

‘I am so happy that I can show autistic people that they aren’t alone and that they aren’t invisible – they are beautiful and magical.’

The openly homosexual and autistic actor wants to ‘fly the flag’ for his respective communities in the mainstream reality TV show, a source told The Sun.

They added: ‘He was diagnosed with autism when he was nine and is passionate about being an advocate for his community.

‘He’s keen to show the world that being neurodiverse isn’t something that holds you back, it’s a superpower.’

Bradley is best-known for his role as James McEwan in Netflix hit drama Heartstopper (pictured), where his character develops a crush on Isaac Henderson (Tobie Donovan)

In 2023, the Netflix star also officially became a published author, releasing his own novel titled A Different Kind Of Superpower.

The book, which he co-wrote with James A Lyons, tells the actor’s heart-warming personal story about being ‘gifted’ his autism diagnosis at the age of nine.

Bradley and James aimed to reframe neurodivergence as a superpower through the lens of the children’s book.

‘Everyone is different, so I really wanted to expand on my story so that as many people as possible could find themselves in some part of the character journey,’ Bradley told Vogue in 2023.

‘I actually wrote it originally as a play, which I hope one day we can actually stage.’

The actor, who has amassed a staggering 323,000 following on Instagram, sometimes gives fans a peek behind the curtain into his personal life.

Celebrity Big Brother Stars Seen! Housemates Arrive Unassumingly at Hotels Before Highly-Awaited Launch Show

Celebrity Big Brother housemates have been spotted making low-key arrivals into hotels ahead of Monday night’s launch show.

The anticipated reboot of the reality series is less than 24 hours away and the stars have already been seen preparing to enter the house.

In pictures obtained by The Sun, multiple stars gathered under the radar at a hotel in Watford.

TV presenter Fern Britton, 66, attempted to keep her appearance under wraps by wearing dark-rimmed sunglasses.

Coronation Street’s Colson Smith, 25, seemed unbothered to be spotted as he was pictured with a beaming grin outside the hotel.

David Potts, 30, known for his stint on Ibiza Weekender, was difficult to miss as he donned a brightly-coloured hoodie and tiny shorts.

Love Island’s Ekin-Su Culculoglu, 29, was seen hugging fellow housemates on her arrival.

YouTube star Zeze Mills and Strictly’s Nikita Kuzmin, 26, were the last celebrities spotted arriving into their hotel.

While six of the celebrities have reportedly been spotted together ahead of the ITV show, other famous names weren’t in attendance.

X Factor’s Louis Walsh and Sharon Osbourne have also been in talks to take part in the programme.

Ahead of the reboot, fans have slammed the rumoured lineup for the new series as ‘dreadful’, saying they barely recognise any of the names.

ITV bosses have reportedly spent a massive £2 million on a number of high-profile stars for the programme after the civilian version proved to be a huge hit last year.

However, the reaction to the stars rumoured to be taking part has been that of disappointment, with many fans complaining that they are barely even celebrities.

Several have taken to social media to say they won’t be tuning in to watch and predicting the series will ‘flop’, as they have had to Google the names to know who they are.

One person wrote: ‘I’ve heard of three of them…. mis-selling the word Celebrity’ while another added: ‘I am getting old. I only know five of these housemates.’

A third echoed: ‘Me over here just googling 90% of these ‘celebrities’’ while another said: ‘Well what an absolute dreadful lineup that is, call it the Z-list.’

It has been reported that Louis, 71, reportedly reached a huge six-figure deal for him to enter the house.

He is thought to be set to reunite with his former X Factor colleague Sharon in the house, as she is also said to be taking part.

However, the TV personality, also 71, is not expected to stay for the full 17 days as insiders told The Sun that her fee was too expensive for ITV.

A source told the publication: ‘Sharon is a guest housemate and won’t be going in on launch night. Instead she will come in once the show has started and will be there for a few days.

‘The fee she wanted was eye-watering and in the end they struck a deal which meant she would go in for a shorter run.

While Ekin-Su’s entrance into the house would come at a good time for the reality star after she recently from her ex-boyfriend Davide Sanclimenti earlier this year.

A source told the publication: ‘Bosses did all they could to get Sharon and finally reached a deal she’s happy with.

‘Sharon will inject enough drama but without her original price tag that was just not feasible.

‘Producers cannot wait to see her reunite with Louis and know that it will be TV gold.’

ITV and Sharon’s representatives have been contacted by MailOnline for comment.

A Celebrity Big Brother spokesperson then told MailOnline: ‘Any names are at this point pure speculation and viewers will have to tune to see who will be entering the Celebrity Big Brother house.’

Sharon will reportedly not stay for the full 17 days as insiders said that her fee was too expensive for ITV.

This will mean the fiery redhead will make a much shorter appearance on the show than her fellow celebrity housemates.

It is claimed bosses hope Louis will share secrets from his career while in the house.

As well as a panellist on The X Factor from 2004 to 2017, Louis has also worked with the likes of Westlife, Boyzone and Girls Aloud.

The countdown has begun for Celebrity Big Brother.

With the new series set to kick off on March 4, bosses have transformed the iconic TV set ahead of welcoming a host of stars through its doors.

The show will return six years after it was last broadcast on Channel 5 and ITV bosses have spared no expense on making the property a five star experience for the pampered celebs.

The house, which was home to 16 civilians in the rebooted series last year, has been given a starry makeover and turned gold in preparation for its new arrivals.

The interior of the house features an open plan layout with the kitchen, dining area and seating area for the evictions all in one room with accents of gold to mark the housemates’ celebrity status dotted around the sprawling property.

The space is dominated by two large semi-circular sofas which are placed underneath a flat screen TV. This will be where the housemates gather for the live evictions and house announcements from Big Brother.

In the centre of the room is a long, slender dining room with 14 chairs, seven on either side.

The housemates will get plenty of natural light during their stay as a glass window on the roof looks down onto the living area.

To the right of the dining area is the kitchen, which features a sleek green counters and a pink marble island.

There is a wooden island with a fuchsia counter top and four chairs were some of the housemates can sit to enjoy their breakfast.

While the Big Brother house has nearly always been a bungalow, this year’s house features an upstairs area.

Directly above the kitchen is another living space.

On the bathroom, a source said: ‘Privacy seems to be a luxury in the house, with two glass showers, and a huge bathtub, so housemates won’t be able to escape Big Brother’s watching eye.’

The house has put sustainability at the forefront, with an outdoor water tank collecting rainwater that will fill the jacuzzi.

The house has put sustainability at the forefront, with an outdoor water tank collecting rainwater that will fill the jacuzzi.

In previous years, the smoking area has been a fixture of house chat and gossip, but this year, it will be kept away from the cameras, with just a microphone to pick up on any dramatic discussions.

This year’s house also features a cheeky nod to its reality TV rival Love Island, with the inclusion of an outdoor fireplace.

ITV bosses created a brand new house for the reboot of the show after the original house at Elstree Studios in Borehamwood, Hertfordshire, was demolished in 2019.

The Big Brother house had been the site for the series since its third season in 2002.

The groundbreaking show – which first aired in the UK in 2000 – was originally shot at a house in Bow, London.

Unaware of how popular the show would be, bosses Channel 4 – who broadcast the series at the time – had not acquired planning permission for more than two years, which is when it relocated to Elstree Studios ahead of it’s third season.

With the move came upped security, after a break-in took place in 2001. The show was cancelled by Channel 4 in 2010, and aired its final celebrity, civilian and ‘Ultimate’ season. But a year later, Channel 5 relaunched it, at the same studios.

In 2016, a planning application to Hertsmere Borough Council hinted that production company Endemol would be extending the famously-cramped house.

With the return of the celebrity series less than a week away, ITV bosses have reportedly secured a sensational line-up of stars for the exciting reboot of the show, which was last broadcast on Channel 5 in August 2018.

And AJ and Will took to Instagram on Monday night to reveal a huge change ahead of the launch, as viewers will now be voting to save their favourite housemates, rather than evict.

AJ announced: ‘Celebrity Big Brother is just around the corner so we are coming at you with big news.’

As Will explained: ‘You’ll remember the last series of Big Brother you were voting to evict. This time for Celeb BB you are voting for your favourite housemate. You’re always voting to save.’

Pondering on how this huge change to the voting structure will impact the show, AJ continued: ‘I don’t know how it’s going to change the dynamics within the Big Brother house or how fans are going to rally behind their favourite celebrity but I for one cannot wait to find out!’

However not all fans were convinced by the new format as they took to the comment section to share their frustration at the change.

One exclaimed: ‘Never understood why people prefer vote to save. The houseguests nominate for eviction, we should vote the same.’

A second ranted: ‘Have never really understood vote to save – surely they are called evictions for a reason, so the voting should be to evict.’

Another mused: ‘if voting was done this way last season the evictions would have looked a lot different’.

Another angry fan penned: ‘Hate voting to save, there’s then no way of getting the one you want out because you can’t vote for everybody else’.

While another added: ‘hate vote to save…always have always will. It’s not how BB should be, I detest it…are celebs too sensitive to be voted to evict then?’

Channel 5 experimented with the ‘vote to save’ when Big Brother switched to the network from Channel 4 in 2011.

Yet after just two series’ the show’s bosses reverted back to the ‘vote to evict’ format until the show was eventually axed in 2018 before its ITV return last year.

However among the frustration there were some fans who were keen for the change as they supported ITV’s decision.

One pleaded: ‘KEEP THIS FOR NORMAL BB AS WELL!!’ and a second added: ‘Make it Vote to Save ON BOTH series please!’
