Celeb Beauty Steals: Affordable Met Gala Finds!

It's described as the biggest night in fashion, with the most famous stars walking the iconic steps.

Yet despite the billionaire guest list, many faces were painted with budget-friendly beauty brands.

With this year’s theme, Costume Art, and the dress code, Fashion is Art, attendees transformed their looks into artistic masterpieces. 

And while the outfits are usually the main focus of the night, it was the high-street makeup looks that captured our attention.

Many celebrities opted for affordable products this year, with brands including L'Oreal Paris, KIKO and Tresemmé all making an appearance.

, , and were among the stars using drugstore buys.

Zoë Kravitz

Zoe's celebrity makeup artist, Alex Babsky, used all L'Oreal products on the star

'I wanted Zoë’s look to feel fresh and quietly romantic', he explained. 'The cheeks have a natural flush that brings warmth back into the face, and the lip is Colour Riche Satin Lipstick in 762 Divine Wine that stays tonal with the skin. 

'I layered lightly so it adds colour without taking over, and everything still feels effortless.'

Madonna

Her look was inspired by a 1945 painting called The Temptation of St. Anthony. Fragment II, a Surrealist masterpiece by Leonora Carrington. 

It explores the desert temptation of Anthony the Great, often cited for its influence on 20th-century art.

Celebrity makeup artist and Kiko Milano Global Makeup Artistry Creative Director Marcelo Gutierrez used a £7.49 eyeshadow for her smoky look.

The highly pigmented formula offers instant and intense colour release, ensuring a flawless look for the Met Gala.

Kendall Jenner

Kendall oozed sex appeal in a draped ivory gown with a nipple-teasing bodice at the as many would be surprised to find out the racy number was from GapStudio.

Like her gown, Kendall's face was also painted with affordable products from L'Oreal Paris.

The model has been a global ambassador for the brand since 2023.

Kendall's celebrity makeup artists used L’Oréal's Lumi Le Glass bronzing stick and the popular £13.99 mascara.

Emily Blunt

Emily stole the show wearing a Mikimoto pearl body necklace estimated at a staggering $500,000 (£367) at the Met Gala.

She looked the epitome of style in a semi-sheer top with tassels and pearl detailing, and her flawless features were accentuated with Charlotte Tilbury make-up. 

Yet it was her budget-friendly £10.99 Essie nail varnish that grabbed the attention of fans.

Her Celebrity nail artist, Julie K, was the expert behind her manicure, creating a 'deep, dark base' before adding 'a single, deliberately placed circle' on each nail. 

Emma Chamberlain

Emma wore a very dramatic, over-the-top Mugler gown that resembled paint and brushstrokes on the body and into the ruffled hem. 

The sleeves featured long tassels and shredded detailing that continued into the train of her gown. 

She completed the look with a super dark smoky eye and a dark nude lip.

Her colourful art deco high-pigment Aprés Nail Gel Couleurs manicure matched to her gown perfectly.
