The Getaway host, 54, revealed in April 2023 that her sister had been diagnosed with stage four cancer that was 'apparently incurable'.
'I am heartbroken to share that my beautiful, big sister Lucinda, passed away today,' Ms Rowntree wrote on social media.
'Lucinda truly 'threw kindness around like confetti', everyone adored her.
'The apple of my parents' eyes, Lucinda went on to marry her first sweetheart, Johnno.
'Her health journey has seen our family experience so much kindness from others, thank you so very much, it's been treasured.

'I am just so sad to share that tonight, heaven has a new angel, our beautiful Lucinda.'
Lucinda, a mother of four, was forced to quit her job as a schoolteacher in Sydney's Upper North Shore after receiving the devastating diagnosis.

The Channel 9 presenter paid tribute to Lucinda and her life with husband 'Jonno'.
'They travelled the world together, Lucinda achieved her teachers degree, then settled down to focus on her one true love: her family of four children,' Ms Rowntree wrote.
'All agree (she is the) 'world's best Mum', Lucinda had a talent with children and even had a gift store named after her beloved daughter Daisy!
'Teaching has been her focus the last few years and equally all her students agree they've been blessed to have her in their lives.'

Ms Rowntree also praised the 'good people' at the charity Dreams2Live4, which makes dreams come true for people over the age of 17 who are living with terminal cancer.
