Catherine Bach, 71, Spotted After Hospitalization for Embolism

Dukes of Hazzard legend Catherine Bach seems to be on the mend after she was reportedly hospitalized for an embolism.

The star, 71, has been pictured enjoying the sunny day with her dog, and looked in good spirits for their leisurely stroll.

Despite the recent health scare, Bach was clearly feeling well enough to take her furry friend out for his daily walk.

She trotted down the sidewalk wearing a brown long-sleeve top, jeans, and a comfortable pair of pink trainers as she followed her adorable pooch.

The sighting comes shortly after her Dukes of Hazzard co-stars publicly sent their support to Bach due to her health woes, with former co-star Ben Jones first revealing what had allegedly sent her to the hospital.

‘Breaking news! Our dear Catherine Bach has just been admitted to the hospital in Los Angeles on an emergency basis,’ Jones and his wife Alma wrote in a Facebook post which appears to have now been deleted, Parade reported.

‘Catherine has an embolism that probably developed as a result of a recent surgery. We will keep you posted, and Catherine will share her story as soon as she is recovered. She is so, so sorry to have to cancel her appearance at Cooter’s this weekend. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers. Love, Ben and Miss Alma.’

Bach’s scheduled appearances at Jones’ Nashville business Cooter’s Place were also rescheduled due to ‘unforeseen circumstances.’

The establishment, which bills itself as ‘Nashville’s one and only Dukes of Hazzard Museum and Shop’, posted to their Facebook on Halloween:  ‘Due to unforeseen circumstances, Catherine Bach’s appearance at Cooter’s Place in Nashville on November 1 and 2, 2025, has been canceled.

‘Catherine and Cooter’s Place are very sorry for any inconvenience. We will reschedule and announce the new date as soon as it’s set. Thank you for your understanding and continued support.’

Other members of the Dukes of Hazzard crew to send their support to Bach included Tom Wopat and John Schneider.

Wopat posted a sweet throwback image of him with Bach as he sent his ‘thoughts and prayers’ to her.

‘Tom and the Wopat Webcrew are sending our heartfelt thoughts and prayers to Catherine Bach, who was recently hospitalized,’ he captioned the post.

On October 30, Dukes of Hazzard alum John Schneider had a more positive update to share with fans.

‘Attention Dukes of Hazzard family!! I just texted Catherine, and thankfully, she responded right away. Yes, she is in the hospital, but she assures me that she is going to be fine.

She appreciates all our prayers and support and is truly disappointed not to be traveling this weekend. We love you, Catherine!’

According to Cleveland Clinic, an embolism ‘is an obstruction or blockage in a blood vessel. Most often, it starts as a blood clot from elsewhere that breaks off and travels through your bloodstream.’

The Daily Mail has contacted representatives for Bach for comment but did not immediately hear back.

From 1979 to 1985, The Dukes of Hazzard provided laughs for huge audiences on CBS with viewers eagerly tuning in to see what scrapes the three Dukes would get into next.

Set in rural Georgia, the family-friendly show follows cousins Luke and Bo Duke (played by Wopat and Schneider, respectively) who are on probation but still look to get into trouble, mainly aiming to foil the corrupt schemes of county commissioner Jefferson Davis ‘Boss’ Hogg.

Throughout the 147 episodes, they are helped by their cousin Daisy, who became a sex symbol throughout the comedy’s run, as well as wise uncle Jesse.

Catherine was born on March 1, 1954, and hails from Cleveland, Ohio. In 1973, she landed her first acting role in the movie The Midnight Man.

It’s been said that Catherine wowed Dukes of Hazzard directors so much during her audition that she was hired on the spot to play Daisy Duke.

Indeed, Daisy’s ultra-short hot pants were soon named after the character and became a fashion staple.

The role earned her massive stardom – and a poster of her posing as Daisy sold five million copies after its release, and it even caught the eye of First Lady Nancy Reagan.

The bombshell star made headlines during her time in the show, after it was revealed that she had insured her legs for $1 million.

‘You know what it is? I do things that I shouldn’t really do,’ she once explained of her decision to get them insured. ‘I ski.

‘I had a plane when I started the series, which they made me get rid of… [I do] a lot of things. And I sort of take chances. So they thought that they should insure my legs.’

After Dukes of Hazzard ran its course, Catherine acted in a few more titles including the action film Street Justice, 1989 flick Driving Force, motorcycle movie Masters of Menace, and comedy-drama The Breakup Girl.

Her last role was in 2015, when she starred in the movie Book of Fire.

She also launched her own jewelry line at Debenhams in 2002, but has kept a low profile in recent years. She married a man named David Shaw in 1976, but they divorced after five years together.

She then wed entertainment lawyer Peter Lopez in 1990 and together, they welcomed two daughters, named Sophia and Laura. Her husband tragically died in 2010 at age 60 from an apparent suicide.
