Caterina Murino, 47, Welcomes ‘Miracle Baby’ After Miscarriages and IVF Struggles

Bond Girl Caterina Murino has welcomed her first child aged 47.

The Italian actress who starred opposite Daniel Craig in Casino Royale gave birth to a baby boy in August following years of fertility woes, as she turns 48 later this month.

Sharing the news on social media she wrote: ‘Demetrio Tancredi Rigaud Murino 21st August 6.17pm’, having previously discussed her gruelling IVF journey. She added that her cats had now gained a sibling.  

Caterina who played femme fatale and gangsters’ moll, Solange in the 2006 Bond film, has been in a relationship with French Lawyer Edouard Rigaud since 2019 and the couple reside in Paris.

Previously the star was linked to the French rugby player, Pierre Rabadan.

In the past Caterina has spoken openly about her pain at being unable to conceive and as recently as last year, expressed her hopes, aged 46, for a miracle.

She said: ‘Not having children is a pain, not a regret. At 46, I think the one who distributes miracles has forgotten about me.’

Earlier this year she told French magazine Gala that she had conceived successfully using IVF.

The star also told the outlet that her partner, with whom she lives in the Montmarte district of Paris has supported her through her fertility journey, after suffering two miscarriages and a gruelling process of IVF.

But despite her difficult road to motherhood, Murino, who turns 48 this month, told the outlet that she had a smooth pregnancy, stating: ‘I haven’t had any diabetes, discomfort or insomnia.’
