Jodie Foster REFUSED Freakier Friday cameo with Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis

The director of the upcoming ‘Freaky Friday’ sequel revealed she ‘begged’ Jodie Foster for a nostalgic cameo, but the star refused.

‘Freakier Friday’ reunites Lindsay Lohan, 38, and Jamie Lee Curtis, 66, the stars of the beloved 2003 body-swapping film, while Jodie, 66, originated the role in the 1976 Freaky Friday that launched the franchise.

Nisha Ganatra, the director of the upcoming movie, revealed she tried to get Jodie to join the film — which is set to hit theaters August 8 — to no avail.

‘We begged her,’ Ganatra, 50, told Entertainment Weekly, before revealing that Jodie declined. ‘She’s not going to do it.’

‘Honestly, we tried everything,’ the filmmaker shared, explaining that she ‘never found out why’ the Silence of the Lambs star refused.

‘We were going to make her the principal at the school,’ Ganatra said, in reference to the school Lohan’s character Anna goes to.

The ‘Freaky Friday’ franchise launched with the 1976 hit starring Foster and Barbara Harris.

Before Lohan and Curtis led the successful 2003 remake, the series saw some TV movie sequels and a stage musical adaptation.

Foster previously recalled her contrasting experiences as a child actor in 1976, starring in the family friendly ‘Freaky Friday’ and the Oscar-nominated, R-rated ‘Taxi Driver.’

In Taxi Driver, Foster, who was 12-years-old at the time, played the role of Iris Steensma, a teen prostitute.

‘[My mother] really wanted to make sure that I would go back and forth and do different kinds of movies and so that people wouldn’t pigeonhole me as one type of character,’ she said in a 2002 interview with NPR.

‘And at that time, you know, Freaky Friday was probably the first feminist movie out there for youngsters.’

Freakier Friday will follow a similar plotline to the first movie in which Lohan and Curtis’ characters switch bodies – but with a big twist.

The official trailer kicks off with Lohan (Anna) and her mom Curtis (Tess) talking to a fortune teller – played by SNL alum Vanessa Bayer.

As she gave them a reading, the fortune teller could be heard saying, ‘Your lifelines… it’s like they’ve intersected before! You’ve walked in each other’s path.’

Lindsay and Jamie then looked at each other and pretended to be shocked over the revelation.

However, the fortune teller added, ‘You learned a lesson. A lesson that may serve you again.’

The next morning, Lohan and Curtis wake up to shockingly realize they were no longer in their bodies and loudly scream into the mirror as they peer at their reflections.

'We begged her... Honestly, we tried everything,' Nisha Ganatra, 50 (pictured) the director of the upcoming movie, told Entertainment Weekly, before revealing that Jodie declined

But all is not what it seems when Lindsay’s daughter Harper (Julia Butters) and soon-to-be stepdaughter Lily (Sophia Hammons) appear to also be involved in the switch as well.

Curtis can then be seen dramatically saying, ‘My face looks like a Birkin bag that’s been left out in the sun to rot!’

The rest of the teaser shows snippets as the family figure out how to reverse the switch while pretending to be each other in their normal daily lives.

At the end, Curtis and Lohan strolled down a sidewalk while glammed up, with Jamie telling Lindsay, ‘Okay, I’ll let you know when it’s time for you to make your sexy grand entrance.’

She replies with, ‘Sexy grand entrance?’ and the scene cuts to Chad Michael Murray pulling up in a motorcycle and removing his helmet.

‘Oh, like that,’ Lohan says out loud which concluded the trailer.

The premise of the sequel is: ‘Years after Tess and Anna endured an identity crisis, Anna now has a daughter and a soon-to-be stepdaughter.

‘As they navigate the challenges that come when two families merge, Tess and Anna discover that lightning might strike twice,’ per an IMDB synopsis.

Other stars that have been cast in the movie include Manny Jacinto, Mark Harmon, Ryan Malgarini, Haley Hudson and Christina Vidal Mitchell.

Late last year in November, Lindsay appeared on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon and reflected on reprising her role of Anna alongside Curtis in the sequel.

‘It’s just been such a labor of love to make happen,’ she gushed. ‘Jamie [Lee Curtis] and I… even at the table read, we were just smiling so big that we couldn’t…

‘I don’t think we were acting well because we were so happy. But the movie’s funny – it’s really funny,’ the Mean Girls actress added.

Freaky Friday (2003) earned positive reviews from critics upon its release and earned Curtis a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actress in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy.

John Travolta reassures fans after candid bedroom snap of dog Peanut in $10M Florida home sparks concern

John Travolta reassured his fans after sharing a sweet Easter photo featuring his dog Peanut and a chocolate Easter bunny.

The actor, 71, posted the photo of the yellow Chihuahua mix on his bed sniffing the Lindt treat wrapped in gold foil writing, ‘Happy Easter from me, Ella, Ben and Peanut!’

Before adding: ‘Not to worry, she won’t eat the chocolate bunny.)’

As chocolate is known to be toxic to dogs, fans responded with relief at the message.

‘That’s good to hear – Happy Easter to you, too,’ commented one relieved fan.

The Travoltas adopted Peanut after the pooch attended the Oscars with Jamie Lee Curtis in 2022.

The future Oscar winner was honoring the late Betty White, who died in December 2021, just weeks shy of her 100th birthday.

White was an avid animal lover, and her contributions were honored at that year’s ceremonies, which included an appearance on stage with Curtis and Peanut, then known as Mac & Cheese.

Family photos have given a small peek into the mansion Travolta shares with his children in Ocala, Florida, just a short flight away from the Church of Scientology’s worldwide spiritual headquarters, known as Flag Land Base, in Clearwater.

According to an Instagram account called Mr.Tampa.Bay, the 7600 square foot home comes with its own private airport.

The estate includes five bedrooms, six bathrooms, an indoor gym, outdoor pool, a garden and a garage that can fit 16 cars.

Its estimated worth is $10 million.

The star has recently been wowing followers with her new look and last year board-certified surgeon Dr. Jonathan Sykes weighed in on what cosmetic tweaks Lindsay might have undergone.

He suggested that she may have treated ‘pigmentary and some textural issues’ in her skin to achieve her fresh look.

‘Her skin has no dyschromias, which are pigmented areas on the skin, round spots and so forth,’ he observed.

Dr. Sykes also said that she may have had some Botox, but stressed that if so, it had been done in a subtle way and not ‘overdone’.

He added that it’s ‘likely’ that Lindsay had some form of rhinoplasty to get the ‘perfect’ nose, adding: ‘Although her nose was not unattractive, the fact that it looks perfect in recent photos suggests that she’s had something done to it.’

Lindsay has not confirmed any of the speculation.

It comes after the actress showed off the same lavender dress as she promoted new film Freakier Friday with Jamie Lee Curtis at CinemaCon on Thursday.

On that occasion, Lindsay used peach toned makeup, highlighting her cheeks, eyelids, and full pout.

Lindsay Lohan showed off her stunning makeover as she channeled classic Hollywood glamour in a youthful-looking selfie amid her return to the industry

Amid a resurgence in her career after years away from Hollywood, her glow-up has sparked a debate among fans who have been trying to figure out what procedures the star may have done to achieve the stunning look.

Earlier this month, Lindsay showed off her glowing and youthful face in a new selfie with anti-aging specialist Dr. Radmila Lukian.

Lukian is the founder of the Lucia Aesthetic & Dermatology Center in Dubai, where Lindsay resides with her husband Bader Shammas and their son Luai, 16 months.

‘With my dear @dr radmila Lucian for some skin care time,’ she wrote on the snap, which was shared to her Stories.

Her father, Michael Lohan, has denied his daughter had ever had plastic surgery, but revealed she had done ‘peels, fillers and Botox’.

‘Lindsay never had any plastic surgery done ever. Her look [is] so natural — just like her talent,’ he told Page Six.

Previously, Dr. Jonny Betteridge, an aesthetics doctor, has claimed the star could have spent up to 300K in plastic surgery procedures to achieve the look.

The founder of the London based clinic JB Aesthetics, who has a background in Emergency Medicine, Intensive Care and Anaesthetics, shared an Instagram video listing the cosmetic tweaks he believes the actress has undergone.

Among the surgical procedures Betteridge believes the star has had are a face lift, an upper eyelid surgery, a nose job, and a surgical brow lift.

He stated that she most likely had ‘some degree of surgical facelift’ and it was likely done via an ‘endoscopic approach’, meaning it was minimally invasive.

He also think the actress had ‘botox, lip lift, lip fillers, and veneers’.

Betteridge also analysed her skin in her latest photos and came to the conclusion that she has done ‘laser resurfacing’ and had ‘a dermatologist led skincare routine’.

‘And the cost of this, if you combine everything together, would be in the range of $200-300K,’ he added.

The star revealed her low maintenance skincare routine in an October chat with Allure.

The actress said her main beauty focus is ‘taking care of my skin’ but admitted to dabbling with ‘laser, Morpheus and IPL’ in the past.

In the morning she uses a cold face towel and Avène Redness Expert Soothing Moisturizing Concentrated Cream or the brand’s Tolérance Control Soothing Skin Recovery Cream – which she praised for being ‘lightweight and hydrating and not overly greasy.’

She also uses Peter Thomas Roth eye patches to de-puff her eyes.

Her go-to make-up look is ‘pretty light’ with the star adding: ‘If I wear anything, it’s Giorgio Armani Silk foundation or Kevyn Aucoin concealer. Maybe some eyeshadow if I’m going out, and Westman Atelier mascara.

‘One thing I’ve embraced more since becoming a mom is going out naturally and not feeling the need to put something on my face all the time.

‘I think we live under pressure to look made-up, but I don’t feel that way anymore. I just want to look at myself and love myself for who I am.’

At night Lindsay uses ‘Aveeno face wipes, some Avène face wash and then the redness cream at night again because after I take everything off, I get a little pink.’

‘Was this needed? No. Is it going to top the first one? No. Will I be seated for this? Absolutely,’ one fan shared.

Another commented, ‘Who else prefers the previous one to this sequel??’ and a fan tweeted, ‘This looks like an absolute mess of a script lol.’

One X user wrote, ‘Nobody asked for this! The first movie was fine the way it is. No need to ruin it with a sequel,’ and another penned, ‘Some things just need to be left alone.’

A social media user also shared, ‘Looks a bit too over-produced for my taste visually, but hey, it does sound fun.’

However, others expressed their excitement over the sequel as one typed, ‘this looks like so much fun i am so down.’

‘Yeessss, can’t wait for this! Gonna be lit,’ another shared, and a fan added, ‘Blast from the past, and of course now we’ve got a new generation going.’

‘I just want to know… IS THE BAND MAKING AN APPEARANCE? I need about 5 songs from then,’ one penned, referencing to how Lindsay’s teenage character in the first film had a band called Pink Slip.

The official trailer kicked off with Lohan (Anna) and Curtis (Tess) talking to a fortune teller – played by SNL alum Vanessa Bayer.

And last year in September, Jamie also opened up about acting with Lohan once again during an interview with Extra.

‘So fun. We just did it this summer… We came together for 42 days and just laughed a lot, cried a lot,’ she said at the time.

‘It’s a four-way switch… so it was intense. We have these two young beautiful actors with us, so I think you guys are going to love it.’

The actress continued, ‘It’s joyful, you know, it’s a movie that people love and people are going to love this.’

Lohan also confirmed that her band Pink Slip from the original 2003 movie is also set return in the sequel.

While talking to IMDB, the mother-of-one discussed reprising her role and said, ‘It feels like a rhythm that never stopped.

‘Pink Slip is returning in full force with a lot of love in their hearts. And it’s so much fun. And it feels like the band never left each other.’

Curtis also shared, ‘The movie is just freakier in all aspects. It’s funnier, and there’s more physical comedy. The switches are freakier. This one has more swapping.’

Freaky Friday (2003) earned positive reviews from critics upon its release and earned Curtis a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actress in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy.

The movie also raked in $160.8 million in the box office on a budget of $26 million.

    The Last Showgirl (15)

    Rating:

By tomorrow morning, we will know who the big winners have been at the Oscars, but one of the surprise losers is already clear.

The Last Showgirl may have picked up nominations at the Golden Globes, Screen Actors’ Guild and Baftas, but when it came to the Academy Awards there was nothing, despite raw and bravely revealing turns from Pamela Anderson and Jamie Lee Curtis and the fact it’s directed by Gia Coppola, granddaughter of Francis Ford, niece of Sofia… and Hollywood royalty.

It’s a shame because it’s a good and quietly touching film. Admittedly, it takes a little while to settle down as we get used to Coppola’s use of hand-held cameras, naturalistic sound and an Anderson seemingly stripped of all make-up, but we’re there well before the big moment around which the whole film pivots.

The Razzle-Dazzle, a classic Las Vegas stage show which has kept Shelly (Anderson) in rhinestones, double denim and fast cars for more than 30 years and which once employed her hard-drinking, older friend Annette (Curtis) as a dancer too, is to close after a 38-year run.

Its younger dancers, the likes of Jodie (an excellent Kiernan Shipka) and Mary-Anne (Brenda Song) have two weeks to look for new jobs, but Shelly is distraught.

The Razzle-Dazzle has been her life and while her estranged adult daughter, Hannah (Billie Lourd), can dismiss it as ‘a stupid nudie show’ she believes it is high art, a link not just to the great cabaret clubs of Paris but to theatre itself.

Nevertheless, she prepares to audition for the first time in decades… and to lie about her age. ‘I’m 36’, she announces in the heartbreaking opening, ‘no, I’m 42 – sorry, I’m nervous’. But it’s obvious to everyone that Shelly, like Anderson, is in her late 50s.

    Jamie Lee Curtis playss 'a

Jamie Lee Curtis plays Annette in the film directed by Gia Coppola. It admittedly takes a while to get used to Coppola’s use of handheld cameras

Anderson is seemingly stripped of all make-up in the film. On a deeper level it is about ageing, dreams and female relationships

Anderson is seemingly stripped of all make-up in the film. On a deeper level it is about ageing, dreams and female relationships

On one level, this is a film about the end of a Las Vegas era, an age of long-legged showgirls and sparkling headdresses.

But on a deeper level, it’s about ageing, dreams and female relationships, not just between biological mothers and daughters but the workplace version too, where the older women take care of their younger colleagues. Until they don’t, of course.

That all said, look out for Dave Bautista, who is a quiet revelation as Eddie, the show’s supportive stage manager and Shelly’s long-standing admirer.

The underlying story may be a little thin, but this ageing showgirl has clearly got some decisions to make.

Hit comedy series The Sticky has been brutally axed despite its glowing reviews.

The TV show, created by Brian Donovan and Ed Herro, hit our screens in December last year.

The Sticky is loosely based on the story of the Great Canadian Maple Syrup Heist, which took place between 2011 and 2012.

Unfortunately just two months after its release on the streaming service, it has been confirmed that it won’t be back for a second series.

Deadline has reported that the programme ‘could not break through and draw wide enough audience despite solid reviews’.

The Sticky was released on Amazon Prime Video on December 6.

Remy Bouchard (actor Guillaume Cyr), Ruth Clarke (actress Margo Martindale) and Mike Byrne (actor Chris Diamantopoulos) in the drama series

There were six episodes in the first season, starring the likes of Margo Martindale, Chris Diamantopoulos, Guillaume Cyr, Guy Nadon and Mickaël Gouin.

They were joined by Suzanne Clément, Mark O’Brien, Meegwun Fairbrother and Jamie Lee Curtis on our screens.

The choice to not renew the show is a shock as it was given 80% on the Tomatometer on Rotten Tomatoes, as well as 73% on the Popcornmeter.

One viewer wrote on the review site: ‘I really wasn’t expecting much, esp. with this being an Amazon original, but I have to admit I was pleasantly surprised. The language was a bit salty for my liking, but the characters were fun and quirky. As was the series overall.’

Another added: ‘I found this show very enjoyable. The on screen atmosphere was great, fun characters with great acting, story was fun. Look looked forward to every episode.’

‘I loved it. It reminded me a bit of Ozark but simpler, less dark, and even funny a times. Others reviewers said it’s like Fargo which I didn’t see but now I want to,’ a third chimed in.

A fourth wrote: ‘Sticky and sweet. Characters you can love and hate or love to hate. Who would have known maple syrup could be so crazy and fun. A bit quirky, a lot of laughs.’

A fifth chimed in: ‘Absolutely loved this series and can’t wait for Season 2.

‘I have fun usually trying to guess What Happens Next but the script was way too clever and had me hooked to find out what the next drama or development would be. Well done.’

‘Great fun, great acting. Based on true events and well worth your time,’ a sixth added.

IMBD’s synopsis of the show says: ‘When maple syrup farmer Ruth Landry finds her livelihood under attack by greedy competitors who were once her friends, she concocts a scheme to exact revenge and shake up the industry.’

The Sticky was announced back in April 2022.

Christina Wayne, head of Originals, Canada at Amazon Studios said at the time: ‘We are thrilled to be working with this incredible lineup of talent behind the scenes to bring this story to life.

‘The Amazon Studios team in Canada couldn’t resist these characters and a story centred on delicious stolen goods is perfect for our Prime Video audience.’

Meanwhile producer Chris McCumber added: ‘The Sticky is a unique story that can only be set in Quebec and a crime caper that we think audiences around the world will enjoy.

‘Not only did it make total sense to partner with Amazon Studios’ development team in Canada, but Canada has some of the best talent working in front of and behind the camera.’

And co-showrunners Brian Donovan, Ed Herro and Kathryn Borel added: ‘This story, about an unassuming band of renegades who managed to pull off perhaps the largest heist in Canadian history, caught our attention immediately.

‘The characters, stakes—all were ripe for tapping (pun intended) for our fictional story. We’re thrilled that we have world-class partners on board to bring our vision for to life.’

Colin Farrell gave a loving tip of the hat to his sister Claudine Farrell when he won the award for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Television Movie or Limited Series at the 2025 Screen Actors Guild Awards on Sunday.

The 48-year-old star was honored for his title role in HBO’s acclaimed DC Comics series The Penguin, but he made sure to thank the family member who has been with him throughout his career.

‘I have to thank my sister who I’ve worked with for 22 years,’ he announced midway through his acceptance speech.

‘I never thank her publicly,’ he admitted, though he didn’t clarify why he didn’t sing her praises more often.

‘I haven’t noted that she’s a producer and she’s not my assistant. She’s not my assistant,’ he added for emphasis. ‘[She’s my] sister, she’s family, she’s a producer.’

Colin may have made it clear that his sister was a producer because she only recently gained the official title.

‘I have to thank my sister who I’ve worked with for 22 years,’ he announced. Claudine worked with her brother as a producer on The Penguin, which he won for; seen together in 2016 in NYC

According to her IMDb page, Claudine has long been credited as an assistant to her brother, going back at least to his 2003 films The Recruit and Daredevil.

She appears to have taken a break in working with her brother — or at least being credited for doing so — after 2006’s Ask The Dusk, but she returned to working with the acclaimed actor in 2012.

From then on, Claudine has been credited various as Colin’s assistant, associate, and various forms of manager up through the 2018 Steve McQueen thriller Widows.

The two have continued to work together since then, but Claudine has now graduated to working as a producer on The Penguin, and as an executive producer on last year’s sports drama The Beautiful Game, which Colin co-produced.

The actor also made a moving tribute to his other family members, who had all helped his journey in one way or another.

‘My sister Catherine, who’s the first actor in the family and showed me that that was a possibility to pursue that passion,’ he shared. ‘My brother Eamon, who texted me last night that Netflix is showing this live and he’s staying up in his pajamas to watch it. Eamon, I love you. Catherine, I love you.

‘My mom, Rita, my dad, Eamon, and the two people in my life who have made my life so much more special and so much more meaningful, so much more joyful than I ever truly thought possible: my son James and son Henry,’ he added.

Colin shares his 21-year-old son James Padraig Farrell, who was born in 2003, with the model Kim Bordenave, and he shares his 15-year-old son Henry, who was born in 2009, with his ex Alicja Bachleda-Curús.

'I never thank her publicly,' he admitted, though he didn't clarify why he didn't sing her praises more often. 'I haven't noted that she's a producer and she's not my assistant. She's not my assistant,' he added for emphasis. '[She's my] sister, she's family, she's a producer'

The SAG Awards were held Sunday night at the Shrine Auditorium & Expo Hall in Los Angeles.

The annual ceremony, which was hosted by Nobody Wants This star Kristen Bell, was streamed live on Netflix for the second year in a row.

It was presented by the Screen Actors Guild–American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA) and bills itself as the ‘only televised awards ceremony to exclusively honor actors.’

During the hours-long ceremony, 13 awards were handed for ‘outstanding performances’ in both film and TV that were decided on by SAG-AFTRA’s 130,000+ members.

According to the official website, the SAG Awards have ‘the largest voting body on the awards circuit.’

Unlike prior years, the official SAG Awards nomination ceremony was canceled for 2025 in wake of the devastating Los Angeles wildfires that broke out in January.

Instead, SAG-AFTRA shared the nominations online.

Smart proved to be unstoppable and took home the award, though she wasn’t able to attend the ceremony.

Stunt crews that have worked on the latest and greatest TV shows and movies are were also being recognized at the 2025 ceremony.

Fittingly, The Fall Guy — in which Ryan Gosling plays a stunt actor — won the film honor, while the brutal drama Shōgun won the award for TV stunt cast.

The ceremony also looked back on a legend by honoring Jane Fonda with the SAG Life Achievement Award, making her the 60th recipient of the ceremony’s highest tribute.

In a statement, SAG-AFTRA president Fran Drescher described Fonda, 87 — a two-time Oscar-winner with a career spanning over six decades — as a ‘trailblazer and an extraordinary talent.

‘[Fonda is] a dynamic force who has shaped the landscape of entertainment, advocacy and culture with unwavering passion,’ the Nanny star continued.

‘We honor Jane not only for her artistic brilliance but for the profound legacy of activism and empowerment she has created.’

Keke Palmer stuns in Jaime Lee Curtis’ vintage 1986 velvet gown at 2025 SAG Awards

Keke Palmer made heads turn at the 2025 SAG Awards not just for her jaw-dropping looks but because her ensemble was previously worn by another Hollywood diva.

On Sunday, the 31-year-old actress dazzled in an glamorous archival strapless, velvet Chanel gown and long matching gloves that Jamie Lee Curtis once modeled.

During the show, the actress’ stylist Molly Dickson took to her Instagram Story to share a photo of the 66-year-old star wearing the striking ensemble nearly forty years ago.

The Freaky Friday actress wore the elegant gown adorned with a stunning gold chest piece accent at the First Annual American Cinematheque Award Salute to Eddie Murphy on February 28, 1986.

Vintage couture resale boutique Vintage Martini Consignment — which is based in Dallas, Texas — revealed on their Instagram back in late December that they had sold the dress.

The boutique shared a carousel of snaps of the look which was revealed to me made in France and that it is an EU size 40, which is roughly a US size 8.

She opted for a light glam makeup look comprised of a bold red lip and classic winged eyeliner while posing up a storm at the star studded bash.

Palmer acted as a presenter at the awards ceremony, but prior to showtime she revealed that the gig was nerve-racking.

She said on the red carpet, ‘Presenting is a little spooky, but I’m doing it with Colman Domingo. He’s a friend.’

The annual ceremony, hosted by Nobody Wants This star Kristen Bell, was streamed live on Netflix for the second year in a row starting.

It was presented by the Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA) and is the ‘only televised awards ceremony to exclusively honor actors.’

During the hours-long ceremony, 13 awards were handed for ‘outstanding performances’ in both film and TV that were decided on by SAG-AFTRA’s 130,000+ members.

Jamie Lee Curtis stuns in a black feathered gown as she competes for The Last Showgirl at 2025 SAG Awards

Jamie Lee Curtis had all eyes on her when she strutted onto the red carpet at the 2025 Screen Actors Guild Awards on Sunday afternoon at the Shrine Auditorium & Expo Hall in Los Angeles.

The 66-year-old Oscar winner looked effortlessly glamorous in a sparkling black gown decorated with fluttering feathers and sequins.

She’s competing at the ceremony for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role award for her role in Gia Coppola’s film The Last Showgirl.

This year’s 31st SAG Awards ceremony is hosted by Nobody Wants This star Kristen Bell and is being streamed live on Netflix for the second year in a row, starting at 8 p.m. ET.

Jamie, who previously won in the same SAG Awards category at the 2023 ceremony for her hit film Everything Everywhere All At Once, put on a grand display in her slim black dress, which showcased her trim figure.

The bodice and skirt were decorated with black sequins that sparkled in the light to create an eye-catching texture, and her long skirt reached down to the ground, just barely revealing her classic black pumps.

The item was decorated with a thick mass of long black feathers all down her sleeves and across her shoulders and chest.

The Halloween star contrasted the dark look with her chic pale gray pixie cut and her brilliant white French-tipped nails.

Jamie is nominated for The Last Showgirl, a comeback vehicle for Pamela Anderson that is directed by Gia Coppola, the granddaughter of Francis Ford Coppola and a respected filmmaker in her own right.

Anderson plays a showgirl at a classic revue at one of the resorts and casinos of Las Vegas’ Strip.

But her status in the revue is threatened by younger dancers, and she learns that the show will be phased out in favor of a newer, more risqué show that she’s unlikely to get a spot in.

While grappling with her floundering career, she also tries to reconnect with her estranged daughter, who moved away from Las Vegas and is bitter over feeling that she was ignored and abandoned by her parents.

Jamie plays a major supporting role as Annette, a cocktail waitress and friend to Anderson’s character who once danced in the same show before she was pushed out due to her age.

The Last Showgirl currently boasts a 76 percent fresh rating from the most prestigious critics surveyed by Rotten Tomatoes, with Anderson and Curtis’ performances coming in for special praise.

Although the small-scale drama was ignored by several awards bodies, the SAG Awards have given it a chance to get its due.

Jamie is a two-time winner at the 2023 ceremony for Everything Everywhere All At Once.

In addition to her supporting role win, she was also part of the winning group for the Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture honor.

She was previously nominated — but didn’t win — at the 1995 ceremony for James Cameron’s action comedy-thriller True Lies, in which she played the wife of Arnold Schwarzenegger’s character, an computer hardware salesman who secretly lives a double life as a US counterterrorism agent.

Angela Bassett gets support from A-list pals after being accused of ‘sour grapes’ over Oscars loss

Angela Bassett enjoyed dinner with her Zero Day castmates after facing criticism for her ‘sour grapes’ comments regarding her 2023 Oscars loss to Jamie Lee Curtis.

The actress, 66, was joined by Robert De Niro, his girlfriend Tiffany Chen, Matthew Modine, and producers Eric Newman and Noah Oppenheim on Thursday, as they grabbed a bite at The Corner Store in New York.

The star opted for an elegant camel coat with a colorful top underneath. She paired the look with bell-bottom pants and silver hoop earrings.

Angela added height to her look with black and brown platform heels, and wore smokey eye makeup for the occasion.

Godfather star De Niro, 81, kept warm in a black beanie and black coat for the night out. Meanwhile Tiffany wore a sporty all-black look.

Modine, 65, rocked a leather jacket, a black tee, jeans and a scarf, while Newman and Oppenheim bundled up in cozy coats.

Angela Bassett, 66, enjoyed dinner with her Zero Day castmates after facing criticism for her ‘sour grapes’ comments regarding her 2023 Oscars loss to Jamie Lee Curtis

Political thriller series Zero Day, co-created by Narcos showrunner Eric Newman, follows a former U.S. President (De Niro) who ‘is called out of retirement to find the source of a deadly cyberattack, only to discover a vast web of lies and conspiracies,’ as per Netflix.

Lizzy Caplan, Jesse Plemons and Connie Britton also make up the series’s star-studded cast.

All six episodes of Zero Day are now available to stream on Netflix.

It comes after Bassett has been slammed by fans for once again revealing her disappointment over losing the 2023 Best Supporting Actress award to Jamie Lee Curtis.

The screen icon was nominated for her role as Queen Ramonda in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, while Curtis won for her performance in Everything Everywhere All At Once.

Bassett, who was seen looking memorably crestfallen at the ceremony, said she thought the award was a ‘given’ due to the ‘good work’ she put in during her career – which has seen her take home accolades including a Primetime Emmy Award and two Golden Globe Awards

She told Town & Country: ‘I found it interesting. Interesting that I wouldn’t be allowed to be disappointed at an outcome where I thought I was deserving.’

‘I love applauding people. But in that moment …’ Bassett said before adding she thought she had put in the work to be recognized before correcting herself: ‘No, I have put in: put in the time, put in good work over time. I didn’t think that was a gift. I thought it was a given.’

Fans quickly accused the star of having ‘sour grapes’ and lambasted her ‘attitude’ over the loss.

Paris Hilton was seen carrying her son into her evacuated Beverly Hills home, which still had her Christmas trees standing, after her Malibu beach property burned down.

Derek Hough and his wife, Hayley Erbert, returned to their home after being forced to evacuate due to the California wildfires.

‘We are all back home and safe,’ Erbert captioned a post on her Instagram Stories on January 18. ‘Feeling so grateful while simultaneously feeling so heartbroken for our city and the people who have been affected,’ she added.

Jamie Lee Curtis shares a moving encounter with a man who ‘lost everything’ in LA fires: ‘I embraced him’

Jamie Lee Curtis shared about a moving encounter she had with a fellow Target shopper, amid the ongoing wildfires in Los Angeles.

The actress, 66, whose Pacific Palisades home has been spared in the devastating blaze, took to Instagram over the weekend to recall a touching experience she had.

While shopping at the major American retailer, she came upon a man who had ‘lost everything’ in the fires, with the two sharing a hug.

Curtis, who was recently slammed for likening LA fires to ‘war-torn’ Gaza, was among the many celebrities forced to evacuate as the fires continue to destroy properties.

She wrote: ‘Since I haven’t been able to get home or get into the Palisades to see for myself the horrific destruction and try to suit up and show up for my friends and lend a hand and hug, all of it became very real when I was in a @target picking up some essentials for myself.’

‘There was a man, by himself, with a cart and it was clear that he had lost everything and was buying underwear and socks and a pair of sweatpants and shoes and water and some food and we looked at each other.’

The Oscar-winning star, who donated $1 million to relief efforts amid the Pacific Palisades fires, went on: ‘I embraced him and we both wept and then it happened again with a woman and her cart of clothes and food doing the same thing and it brought into sharp relief the human toll and the shock and profound sadness that these people feel.’

Curtis wrapped up her post writing, ‘I feel very lucky that I have a home to go back to at some point and I will do everything I can to help those who don’t.’

Along with the post she shared a photo of residents watching the terrifying blaze.

It comes after Curtis faced backlash after making a controversial comparison between the devastation caused by the LA wildfires and war-torn countries in the Middle East.

On Thursday, Curtis made the statement during a Q&A for The Last Showgirl, where she appeared alongside her co-star Pamela Anderson.

‘The entire Pacific Palisades looks like, you know, unfortunately Gaza or one of these war-torn countries where awful things have happened,’ she said.

Social media quickly lit up with people questioning the star’s comparison.

One critic posted, ‘Comparing wildfires to war zones feels off, it minimizes the devastation unique to each,’ as another added, ‘It’s kind of unsettling, words matter, especially from someone with her platform.’

A third wrote, ‘Don’t compare a natural disaster to a Genocide!’

Others weren’t as kind, with one commenter saying, ‘Two things that have nothing to do with each other… pack it up, great grandma…”

However, some fans were more forgiving, with one saying, ‘I respect Jamie Lee Curtis, but that comparison doesn’t make any sense.’

It seems like her attempt to draw attention to the devastation may have missed the mark.

The backlash comes after The Halloween star revealed she is donating $1million toward LA fire relief efforts after fighting back tears over the destruction of Pacific Palisades.

The actress took to Instagram Thursday to announce her donation and reveal she had been in contact with LA governor Gavin Newson to discuss where the funds would be best used.

She wrote: ‘As the fire still rages on and @calfire @losangelesfiredepartment and all the available first responders and agencies involved in fighting fire and saving lives are still hard at work and neighbors and friends are banding together to save each other, my husband and I and our children have pledged $1 million from our Family Foundation to start a fund of support for our great city and state and the great people who live and love there.

‘I’m in communication with Governor Newsom and Mayor Bass and Senator Schiff as to where those funds need to be directed for the most impact.’

This comes after Curtis fought back tears as she admitted the Pacific Palisades fires have been ‘catastrophic,’ during an appearance on The Tonight Show on Wednesday.

The star flew out to New York City to appear on the Jimmy Fallon-hosted show, when the fires started spreading through the city she calls home.

She revealed on Instagram earlier on Wednesday that her home is safe but many of her neighbors homes have been destroyed.

The actress appeared on the show to promote her new film The Last Showgirl, in theaters January 10, but before she discussed the film, she became visibly emotional while addressing the fires.

‘I’m literally just about to cry. Mostly because of that beautiful welcome,’ Curtis began, as the audience started to applaud, with one screaming, ‘You’re beautiful!’

She tearfully continued, ‘As you know, where I live is on fire right now. Literally, the entire city of the Pacific Palisades is burning.’

‘I flew here last night. I was on the plane, started getting texts. And it’s f***ing gnarly, you guys. It’s just a catastrophe in southern California,’ she said.

‘Obviously, there have been horrific fires in many places. This is literally where I live. Everything. The market I shop in. The schools my kids go to. Friends, many, many, many, many, many friends now have lost their homes,’ she said.

‘So it is – it’s a really awful situation. I am, you know, obviously going to go home first thing tomorrow and be with my family and try to help my friends,’ she continued.

‘But it is – just so I can tell you, if you know anybody on the west coast or not, the American red cross, support them,’ she said.

‘They will come in and help people. Do anything you can. Anything in your community to help people, whether you need it or not now, you will need it. Give blood, donate, whatever,’ she said to applause.

‘And remember, since I’m on the middle of a very big television show, for anybody living anywhere, have an emergency kit in your house,’ she added.

‘I’m an American red cross ambassador. Have an emergency kit with prescription glasses, medicines, dog food, baby formula, all the things you need if you have to flee,’ she added.
