Rebel Wilson reveals how much weight she has lost after cutting out chocolate and ice cream on new health challenge after overeating over Easter

Rebel Wilson is on a new health challenge after over eating chocolate over Easter.

The Australian actress, who dropped more than 36kgs (around 80lbs) back in 2021, revealed that her latest attempt to change her eating habits has resulted in further weight loss.

‘My first few days were a bit rough giving up chocolate and ice cream – I wanted it so badly!’ she wrote on Instagram on Monday.

‘I didn’t have it though! But I did have some moments of weakness and ate a few “unhealthy” things – like chips.

‘But we can be perfect! And overall I was eating much healthier than the weeks prior – so I’m proud of myself for that’.

The health kick has resulted in a small weight loss for the star.

‘I did happen to lose 1kg (2.2 pounds) last week – which is not the point of the challenge – but it goes to show you how many Easter Eggs I was eating before I started!!’ she explained.

Rebel initially lost weight after a ‘year of health’ and some help from Ozempic, and has again cut out sweet treats in a new challenge to amend her eating habits.

On Thursday, Rebel shared that she was on a long train journey and struggling not to indulge out of boredom.

‘May or may not be on the train thinking of chocolate and ice cream’ she began her post on Instagram Stories.

Rebel added: ‘But NO I have not broken the challenge… but it is challenging!’

Last week the 45-year-old –  who wore a bunny costume to host an Easter egg hunt – took to Instagram to reveal what sweet treat she will be avoiding over the next six weeks for a health challenge.

She encouraged her 11 million followers to join her as she cuts out chocolate and ice cream.

Uploading a brief video clip, the Pitch Perfect star said, ‘Who’s up for a six-week health challenge? I know I am because I’ve been really indulging over Easter.’

She added, ‘And also, quite frankly, for the last couple of months and I really want to be a healthier version of me.’

Wilson captioned the post, ‘Who’s in for a 6 week health challenge? The challenge is to give up 1-3 things you’ve been indulging in lately (mine is chocolate and ice cream) and instead do something positive for your health (mental and physical) – so this week it’s to write down 5 things every night that you’re grateful for!’

The comedian added the hashtag: #6weekrebelhealthchallenge.

‘So I’m going to give up chocolate and ice cream for the next six weeks. What are you going to give up?’ she asked fans in the recording.

‘Instead, each week I’m going to do something positive for my health,’ the blonde filmmaker declared.

Rebel earlier admitted she had let loose over Easter, confessing she, ‘may have had a dozen Cadbury Creme Eggs’.

‘I am planning on going OFF chocolate tomorrow to do a challenge! Anyone with me? 6 weeks NO CHOCOLATE CHALLENGE starting Monday?’ she wrote at the time.

In conversation with The Sunday Times last year, the movie star confessed about weight loss drugs like Ozempic and Monjouro: ‘Someone like me could have a bottomless appetite for sweets, so I think those drugs can be good.’

In July 2021 Wilson revealed about her weight loss journey: 'It first started when I was looking into fertility stuff and the doctor was like, "Well, you'd have a much better chance if you were healthier'. Pictured in February 2024

Rebel previously said that her Pitch Perfect contract prohibited her from losing weight.

The movie franchise came to a close in 2017 and four years later the mother-of-one lost over 70 pounds.

In July 2021 she revealed on Instagram Live about her weight loss journey: ‘It first started when I was looking into fertility stuff and the doctor was like, ‘Well, you’d have a much better chance if you were healthier.’

‘That’s kind of what started it, that if I lost some excess weight that it would give me a better chance for freezing eggs and having the eggs be a better quality. It wasn’t even really myself, it was more thinking of a future mini-me, really.’

And she spoke about it again with People in May 2022.

She shared: ‘I only started thinking of fertility when I was 39 so you feel quite late but then there are women in their mid-40s who’ve been successful.’

Rebel added, ‘Look at Janet Jackson, it’s pretty inspiring,’ referring to Janet giving birth to her son at age 50.

When she discussed fertility treatments with a doctor: ‘He looked me up and down and said, ‘You’d do much better if you were healthier.”

Rebel confessed: ‘I was taken aback. I thought, “Oh God, this guy’s so rude.” He was right. I was carrying around a lot of excess weight.’

She reflected at the time, ‘It’s almost like I didn’t think of my own needs. I thought of a future child’s needs that really inspired me to get healthier.’

Rebel is now mother to two-year-old daughter Royce, who she welcomed via surrogate and co-parents with wife Ramona Agruma.

In regards to how she achieved her weight loss, Wilson focused on becoming more active by walking and doing high-intensity interval training (HIIT) with her personal trainer.

Rebel Wilson has pulled out all the stops for Easter.

The Australian actress donned an retro Easter Bunny costume to host an egg hunt for her toddler daughter and her friends.

In photos shares to Instagram, the Pitch Perfect star carried a basket full of chocolate treats that she hid for Royce, 2, in the yard.

‘Happy Easter everyone! I dressed as the Easter Bunny to do an egg hunt with my daughter …and then may have had a dozen Cadbury Creme eggs’ Rebel wrote.

The 45-year-old then explained that she’d indulged in a few too many chocolate morsels herself.

‘I am planning on going OFF chocolate tomorrow to do a challenge! Anyone with me? 6 weeks NO CHOCOLATE CHALLENGE starting Monday?’ she added.

It comes after Rebel revealed her toddler daughter Royce is living up to her high-end luxury name.

She appeared on The Jonathan Ross Show where she opened up about family life and mentioned her two-year-old, who she welcomed by surrogacy in 2022 with wife Ramona Agruma.

During the chat, the Australian actress expressed regret about naming Royce after the British luxury car brand, Rolls-Royce, and joked that she is starting to become high maintenance.

‘Her name is Royce,’ Rebel said.

‘I probably shouldn’t have named her after a British luxury car brand, she’s a bit high maintenance.

‘She’s two and a half now. She’s conned me into massaging her feet before she goes to sleep. I was doing it last night for almost an hour.

‘I said, “I should have called you Volvo.” I don’t know why I got suckered into that.’

Rebel also went on to talk to host Jonathan about being newly married after tying the knot with her wife Ramona Agruma last year.

‘My sister has a side hustle as a wedding celebrant,’ she said. ‘The show wedding was in Italy and then we got legally married in Australia.

‘My sister, she had a busy week, she married me and then she married my mum the next day. We didn’t pay her, she’s really upset about that.’

Rebel dramatically shed 36kg (80lb) after embarking on a ‘year of health’ in 2020.

Last year, she opened up to OK! Magazine about feeling doubtful ahead of her weight loss transformation.

‘I never thought I could do it,’ Rebel, who recently admitted to using the weight loss drug Ozempic, told the publication.

‘Then in 2020, when I just really focused and did it, I felt sadness, because I’m like, “I’m 40. Why did I not do it 10, 20 years ago?”

‘I felt like this sadness, that I’d hidden away from people and from relationships.’

The Senior Year star also recalled not being able to ‘stand up’ for herself at times when she was younger, saying she would would turn to food as a comfort and ended up in a vicious cycle of ‘trashing’ her own body.

Gemma Collins reveals she spent £14 on a bag of Mini Eggs for her nephew as she accuses confectionary giant of ‘conning’ children in explosive rant

Gemma Collins slammed Cadbury on Instagram on Tuesday after she bought a 1kg bag of Mini Eggs for £14, with the bag appearing only half full.

The TOWIE icon, 44, visited Tesco with her nephew Hayden, 16, and splashed out on the 1kg bag as she treated the teenager.

Gemma was furiuous about the huge price tag and accused the confectionary giant of ‘conning’ children.

In an Instagram story, the GC posted a picture of a happy-looking Hayden posing with the sweet treat, adding the slightly miffed caption: ‘£14!!! For mini eggs.’

The TV personality and her nephew were decidedly unhappy as they realised just how few chocolates their money had got them.

In a second story tagging Cadbury, Hayden said: ‘So this bag of Mini Eggs at the shop cost £14 and you don’t even get a full bag.’

Gemma interjected: ‘Come on Cadbury’s. I’ve just been conned into paying £14 because my nephew loves mini eggs and then when we’ve got them home…’

    He added: ‘We’re not satisfied.’

The 1kg bag is available for £15 directly from the Cadbury’s website and most major retailers but at Tesco it is on offer for one pound less.

It is just under four times the size of a typical ‘Family Pack’ which costs a little less than £5 at most shops.

To get 1kg of Mini Eggs using these packets would set a chocolate-lover back around £18.

The smaller 80g bags tend to cost around £1.85, meaning a fan would need to buy 12 and a half to get 1kg of chocolates – at a cost of £23.

Continuing, Indy admitted that the entire family had trouble sleeping the previous night due to cramping.

It’s a misconception she was keen to continue, too with the influencer captioning the video: ‘telling my kids this is Cadbury chocolate until they’re at least 12.’

However, Indy pushed through her intestinal distress, eventually making it to the TikTok Awards.

Speaking to Popsugar on the red carpet, she said that everyone had pulled through the ordeal unscathed.

Curtis Stone Shares Baking Hack to Stay Calm While Making Cakes: ‘It’s a Little Strange, Isn’t It?’

Australian celebrity chef Curtis Stone has revealed a secret ingredient for any home cook who enjoys a pastry bake.

But the 48-year-old author and former reality star admits that his tip might seem quirky to even the most seasoned kitchen wiz.

‘I always play classical music when I bake. It’s weird, isn’t it?’ Curtis said in a new interview with Nine.

‘Whenever I do a dessert or cook a pastry, I don’t know, I just, I want my frame of mind to be very calm and collected,’ he added.

The globally renowned restaurateur admitted that music has always played a role in his cooking, depending on the dish and the atmosphere.

‘In our restaurant, before service, it’s hardcore rock and roll, even punk music playing. It’s like aggressive and it’s like ‘get your ass in gear. Let’s go. We’re walking into battle,’ he said.

Elsewhere in the chat Curtis said he liked to set a whole afternoon aside for a pastry bake, since it was important not to ‘rush’ the process.

It comes after Curtis was featured in a resurfaced supermarket ad that went viral earlier this month.

Made just a few years ago the commercial was slammed by Australians battling the nation’s current cost-of-living crisis.

The Coles ad from 2017, centres on Stone explaining how to ‘feed your family for $10’.

It was shared to the popular Facebook group Australian Memes this week with the caption: ‘Been bloody quiet this fella’.

Stone holds up an actual $10 note in the ad – also a rare sight these days – with commenters pointing out that in 2024, the note would only cover one bag of Coles shredded cheese.

Shoppers on the post said they were frustrated at the cost of groceries over the past six years.

‘Can’t even do sausages and bread for a tenner these days, two minute noodles maybe,’ another said.
