Celebrity Big Brother set to FINALLY reveal the truth about Sir Michael Fabricant’s legendary locks after years of denials from the politician that his blond barnet is a wig

The mystery of Sir Michael Fabricant’s blond barnet has been one that’s dominated the Parliamentary halls for decades.

And despite the efforts of online sleuths and political figures alike, it has never been revealed whether the former MP’s locks are down to genes, or a wigologist.

But with Michael entering the Celebrity Big Brother house on Monday nights, fans are hoping to finally get an answer to that elusive question.

The former Conservative MP, 74, made his debut on the famous show during the live launch, and in his introduction, doubled down on his decades-long insistence that his blond hair is real.

Noting that he’s been asked many times whether it’s a wig, he insisted that his hair was fully his own.

No images exist from Fabricant’s childhood, and all snaps taken throughout his career show him sporting the same Boris Johnson-esque barnet.

Michael has spoken about his hair once, in a 2014 interview with The Mirror, when he insisted his coiffing routine ‘is a lot more complicated’ than a simple hairpiece.

He said at the time: ‘OK, all I will admit to is that there is some – but only some – enhancement of the follicular area.’

Since kickstarting his political career in the 1990s, Michael’s hair has been a regular topic of discussion, with fellow Tory MP Huw Merriman once caught on camera saying to another colleague, ‘it’s definitely a wig’ when sitting in Parliament.

Michael also previously took offence to questions about his hair when he appeared on Celebrity First Dates in 2017.

Replying to Michael’s admission that he’s ‘probably bisexual,’ his date Jan said: ‘The wig is a bit of a giveaway’.

Michael then hit back: ‘My hair is me… I won’t discuss your breasts if you promise not to discuss my hair.’

After losing his Parliamentary seat at the most recent General election, Michael joined 12 other housemates moving into the Celebrity Big Brother house on Monday night.

But as he joined hosts Aj Odudu and Will Best on the colourful bridge, the rowdy crowd beneath them did not seem impressed by his appearance.

He was particularly boo’d during the moments he mention his blonde locks and when he gave a shout out to his fellow Conservatives on live TV.

And the unhappy audience did not go unmissed as viewers flocked to x, formerly known as Twitter, to share their thoughts.

Posts included: ‘The boos for Michael Fabricant lmao, Conservatives always get booed. But it’s interesting that he’s bisexual and says he’s quite liberal, could he surprise us?  #CBBUK #CBB’

‘Love when they try to blast the music so we can’t hear the boos but they’re so loud you can hear them regardless #CBB #CelebrityBigBrother #CBBUK’

‘They can’t NOT expect boos for a Tory. #CBB #CBBUK’

    ‘The boos fantastic  #CBBUK #CBB’

‘The biggest boos I’ve ever heard for an entrance!’

‘That’s not a good start to Michael’s CBB journey!’

Speaking to the hosts before going into the house, Michael revealed why he wanted to be a CBB housemate.

The outspoken politics enthusiast said: ‘Meeting interesting people and having good conversations.

‘Having some fun and to find out what it’s like being trapped with people I don’t know!’

Asked how he would get on with the other celebrities, he replied: ‘It’s difficult to say.

‘If they’re bright, amusing, interesting it’ll be great. I’m a light sleeper so if they have some funny nighttime habits, that could be a problem.

‘So no snorers, please. I think boredom is my biggest fear – not having enough stimulation.’

Celebrity Big Brother continues on Tuesday at 9pm on ITV1 and ITVX.

Succession’s Brian Cox SLAMS the Oscars as ‘absolute nonsense’ after he was snubbed for nomination

Succession’s Brian Cox has slammed the Oscars as ‘absolute nonsense’ after he was snubbed for a nomination.

The Scottish actor, 78, played Prime Minister Winston Churchill in 2017 film Churchill but failed to land a Best Actor nomination.

In contrast Gary Oldman’s portrayal of the Brit politician in 2017’s Darkest Hour landed him the Best Actor Oscar – even though a slighted Cox still believes his performance was superior.

He told THR: ‘Our film came out in the summer, and it was a relatively independent film, so you haven’t got the power of the studios behind it. The Oscars are absolute nonsense because everything that’s judged in the Oscars, it’s not a year’s work. It’s just the work that comes out between Thanksgiving and Christmas.

‘I think it makes those awards a fallacy quite honestly because there’s a lot of other good work that goes on outside of what they call Oscar season. So my film never even got a look, and I still think my performance is a better performance.’

Cox, who is a classically trained Shakespearean actor, has never landed an Oscar nomination but has won an Emmy for 2001’s Nuremberg and a Golden Globe and two Screen Actors Guild Awards for his portrayal of Logan Roy on Succession.

Offscreen the outspoken star is known for his headline-grabbing rants.

In November he branded Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump a ‘monster’ in an excoriating interview.

Cox told Channel 4’s US election coverage when asked how he felt about the upcoming results of the race that he was a ‘crazy… insane [and] wants to be a dictator.’

He also got into a verbal spat with former British prime minister Boris Johnson over Trump’s rhetoric, and whether he would act on the promises he has made.

‘It’s the most crucial election… in my lifetime, and we have to make sure that that [Donald Trump] doesn’t get in because he is a monster. He really is’, Cox said.

‘He’s crazy, he’s insane, he wants to be a dictator. It’s all been so clear, I don’t know why the American people aren’t listening. Some of the American people are, but a lot of the American people aren’t.

‘The kind of nonsense he’s been talking… I think he’s lost it. He’s deeply mentally unstable, and I think he has been for quite some time. This is not a man who should be president of the United States.

‘He’s unreliable, he’s a convicted felon, I’m horrified. I’m a lapsed Catholic, and I read today that he’s got huge support among Catholic voters. I find that extraordinary, Catholic voters voting for such a man who is… a big sinner.’

He said: 'So my film never even got a look, and I still think my performance is a better performance' - pictured in Succession as Logan Roy

‘I find it all depressing and curiously ridiculous.’

When asked about how much of Trump’s fiery rhetoric would become reality, he chuckled as he said: ‘He’ll do what suits Donald Trump. He’s not interested in… making American great again.

‘The man is completely self-serving, he is only interested in one thing, and that’s Donald Trump.

‘He doesn’t give a damn about America. He really doesn’t.’

Cox then got into a scrap with former British prime minister Boris Johnson, who claimed that Trump’s views on Ukraine and its president Volodymyr Zelensky would be changed by him entering the Oval Office.

  • Queen’s tragedy

    Queen’s tragedy

Natalie Barr unleashed a brutal two-word takedown against UK politician Boris Johnson after he claimed Queen Elizabeth II suffered from deadly bone cancer.

The former prime minister, 60, said in his upcoming tell-all memoir Unleashed that he was aware of the monarch’s condition for over a year before her death in 2022.

Now Sunrise host Nat, 56, has slammed Mr Johnson on live TV on Tuesday morning for the ‘dog act’ of revealing the Queen’s alleged secret medical concerns.

‘Dog act, Boris,’ the breakfast show star said on Sunrise as she discussed Mr Johnson’s current publicity tour ahead of his book release.

‘If the royal family or the Queen had wanted to release that [information], they would have. They would all have known. So, to sell a book, I think that’s appalling.’

Co-host Matt ‘Shirvo’ Shirvington couldn’t agree with his colleague more as he added: ‘And to break the Queen’s confidence in that way. Just horrible.’

‘Completely. That’s what I mean,’ Nat finished her tirade before promptly moving on.

It comes just a few days after Mr Johnson claimed that Queen Elizabeth II suffered from a form of deadly bone cancer before her death in September 2022.

    Queen’s tragedy

Natalie Barr, 56, (pictured) unleashed a brutal two-word takedown against UK politician Boris Johnson, 60, after he claimed Queen Elizabeth II suffered from deadly bone cancer

As part of his upcoming tell-all memoir Unleashed, Mr Johnson recalled his final meeting with the monarch, stating he’d been aware of her condition for over a year.

‘I had known for a year or more that she had a form of bone cancer, and her doctors were worried that at any time she could enter a sharp decline,’ he wrote for The Mail on Sunday.

‘She seemed pale and more stooped, and she had dark bruising on her hands and wrists, probably from drips or injections.’

However, despite her condition, the former PM recalled how sharp her mind remained in that final meeting.

The late Queen died at the age of 96 on September 8, 2022, at 3.10pm.

The royal household has never confirmed a diagnosis suffered by the late monarch, and ‘old age’ was documented as cause of death, per her death certificate.

The former prime minister (pictured) said in his upcoming tell-all memoir Unleashed that he was aware of the monarch’s condition for over a year before her death in 2022

However, death in advanced years is typically due to another condition that is exacerbated by age, perhaps because treatment is less effective.

According to the NHS, Bone cancer is considered a rare form of the disease accounting for less than 1 per cent of all cancer diagnosed each year, with only some 600 cases.

Age is considered the biggest risk factor for the disease with people in their late 80s most likely to be diagnosed.

Bone cancer is incredibly deadly and only about 50 per cent of patients are expected to live five years after their diagnosis.

Mr Johnson’s comments aren’t the first to suggest Queen Elizabeth II suffered cancer towards the end of her life.

Gyles Brandreth, a friend of Prince Philip who wrote the biography Elizabeth: An Intimate Portrait, previously told the Daily Mail the late monarch had a type of bone marrow cancer.

Now Sunrise host Nat has slammed Mr Johnson on live TV on Tuesday morning for the 'dog act' of revealing the Queen's (pictured) alleged secret medical concerns

Now Sunrise host Nat has slammed Mr Johnson on live TV on Tuesday morning for the ‘dog act’ of revealing the Queen’s (pictured) alleged secret medical concerns

He wrote: ‘I had heard that the Queen had a form of myeloma—bone marrow cancer—which would explain her tiredness and weight loss and those “mobility issues” we were often told about during the last year or so of her life.’

‘The most common symptom of myeloma is bone pain, especially in the pelvis and lower back, and multiple myeloma is a disease that often affects the elderly.

‘Currently, there is no known cure, but treatment—including medicines to help regulate the immune system and drugs that help prevent the weakening of the bones—can reduce the severity of its symptoms and extend the patient’s survival by months or two to three years.’

While ‘old age’ can be listed as contributing to a death, official guidelines state it should only be used as sole cause of death in very limited circumstances.

It comes just a few days after Mr Johnson claimed that Queen Elizabeth II suffered from a form of deadly bone cancer before her death in September 2022

It comes just a few days after Mr Johnson claimed that Queen Elizabeth II suffered from a form of deadly bone cancer before her death in September 2022

There is no official age limit for saying someone died of ‘old age’, but it is generally only accepted if the person is over 80.

The doctor should also have cared for the deceased for years or months and noticed a general decline in their health, as well as their functioning in day-to-day life.

There must also be no obvious identifiable disease or injury that contributed to their death, though ‘old age’ can be listed as a contributing factor.

The final official condition for using ‘old age’ as the cause of death is that the doctor is ‘certain’ there is no reason that the death should be reported to the coroner for further investigation.

Former TOWIE star Pete, 36, previously competed on the 2022 edition of the show, but crashed out after an injury.

He will now appear on the show at the same time as he appears on the BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing.

Pete was forced to withdraw during his first appearance on the show after a stunt went wrong.

The star had been tasked with jumping out of a helicopter into a lake when he knocked himself out with his backpack, hitting the surface at full speed, and was left face down in the water.

Luckily he was rescued by the show’s ex-special services staff and its health and safety team who concluded his injuries were mainly a few broken ribs.

Speaking about his return to the show, Pete said: ‘After being medically withdrawn in Jordan, I felt like I hadn’t given it my best, and that bothered me.

‘So when I got an opportunity to go back, I jumped in, and I would do it again.’

Rachel added: ‘This experience was much more than I was expecting. I mean, given how ghastly reality television can be, this was top notch. Really top notch.’

Lucinda Strafford left embarrassed after funny mix-up outside 100 Downing Street house with Boris Johnson

Lucinda Strafford was left red faced after her witty Instagram caption backfired on Tuesday.

Ahead of her trip to Marrakesh, the Love Island star, 24, posed outside a random London house, which resembled the black front door of Downing Street.

However, while the Prime Minister lives at 10 Downing Street, Lucinda snapped herself outside number 100 and seemingly also forgot who the current prime minister is as she joked she was paying a quick visit to Boris Johnson.

Flaunting her toned physique in a black sports bra, Lucinda captioned the series of snaps: ‘Quick stop to see Boris then off to somewhere special tomorrow’.

Fans went wild for the hilarious blunder as they took to the comments to teasingly correct the star on the gaps in her knowledge.

One joked: ‘I bet you were disappointed when Sunak answered’ and another penned: ‘Boris do u mean sunak’.

A third pointed out: ‘and at number 10…. not 100! gold’ alongside laughing emojis.

However Lucinda took the comments in jest as she replied: ‘oooops’ before adding ‘literally only me’ and laughed along with her followers.

Another wrote: ‘Babe. Boris resigned like 2 years ago… and u ain’t outside number 10. But u look beautiful though.’

Sarcastically another joked: ‘Smartest love island contestant’ as Lucinda replied: ‘dying x’.

Meanwhile other fans found the blunder rather endearing as they penned: ‘Never change my love, never change x’.

Luckily Lucinda took the comments in jest as she replied: ‘oooops’ before adding ‘literally only me’ and laughed along with her followers

The pair split in April after they met on Love Island Australia last year and Zac made several surprising revelations during an episode of his Trent and Zac Show podcast.

He revealed Lucinda was communicating with another man while they were in a relationship.

‘I broke up with her because this is just too much… this isn’t what someone who loves me would do,’ he said.

Previously he told listeners that the breakup was ‘still fresh’ and he was not prepared to talk about the details behind the separation as he wanted to protect Lucinda’s privacy.

He then dropped his bombshell: ‘When the time is right, maybe we’ll speak about it but at the end of the day I love her very genuinely and I hope the best for her,’ Zac said.

The comment appeared to stun Zac’s co-host and flatmate Trent, who interjected: ‘Still love her?’

Moments later, Trent teased his housemate telling listeners that he had overheard New Zealander Zac talking on the phone in the middle of the night ‘two nights in a row’ to a woman with ‘an English accent’.

The pair are no longer following each other on social media, and while Lucinda appeared to have wiped all traces of Zac from her Instagram account, he still had some photos from their time spent together.

When Giovanna asked them about their road to getting pregnant, Ollie candidly admitted that it had been ‘tough’.

He said: ‘It is so tough, and it is a miracle when it happens. But it is nice so many people talk about it now.’

He explained that he spoke to his mum about it and she had told him that in her day people didn’t speak about it.

Ollie added: ‘To have some support and be able to talk about it, I think is so important. The sense of community in talking about it and hearing people’s stories and realising what a miracle it is.’

Barbara, known for her portrayal of Peggy Mitchell in the BBC soap opera EastEnders, died from Alzheimer’s Disease in 2020 at the age of 83.

Scott, 61, will become the People’s Champion of the Dame Barbara Windsor Dementia Mission.

The charity was set up in 2021 by then-Prime Minister Boris Johnson in memory of the actress, who also acted in the Carry On film series.

It is asking for volunteers to sign up to join ‘Babs’ Army’ and help people diagnosed with dementia and their families.

Scott began caring for Barbara in 2014 when she fell ill with the condition. He told The Sun why his new role would have meant so much to Barbara.

He said: ‘I will never stop being proud of the courage, dignity and generosity Barbara showed in trying to raise awareness of Alzheimer’s disease for as long as she could, while dealing with her own illness.

‘She gave a voice to millions affected by this terrible disease and we were told that her speaking out changed the whole conversation around dementia.

‘I know how proud she would have been when, almost two years ago, we launched the Dame Barbara Windsor Dementia Mission in her memory … but until we find a cure, there is still so much more for us to do.’

Experts predict that the number of sufferers dementia in the UK will increase from the current figure of 944,000 to over a million by 2025.

    WHAT IS DEMENTIA?

Dementia is an umbrella term used to describe a range of neurological disorders

    A GLOBAL CONCERN

Dementia is an umbrella term used to describe a range of progressive neurological disorders (those affecting the brain) which impact memory, thinking and behaviour.

There are many types of dementia, of which Alzheimer’s disease is the most common.

Some people may have a combination of different types of dementia.

Regardless of which type is diagnosed, each person will experience dementia in their own unique way.

Dementia is a global concern but it is most often seen in wealthier countries, where people are likely to live into very old age.

    HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE AFFECTED?

The Alzheimer’s Society reports there are more than 900,000 people living with dementia in the UK today. This is projected to rise to 1.6 million by 2040.

Alzheimer’s disease is the most common type of dementia, affecting between 50 and 75 per cent of those diagnosed.

In the US, it’s estimated there are 5.5 million Alzheimer’s sufferers. A similar percentage rise is expected in the coming years.

As a person’s age increases, so does the risk of them developing dementia.

Rates of diagnosis are improving but many people with dementia are thought to still be undiagnosed.

    IS THERE A CURE?

Currently there is no cure for dementia.

But new drugs can slow down its progression and the earlier it is spotted, the more effective treatments can be.

Since Barbara’s death, Scott has moved on with ‘wonderful’ fellow EastEnders actress Tanya Franks who portrayed Rainie Cross in the soap.

The couple had forged a close friendship over the years as they worked together with the charity and Bab’s Army.

Scott told Kaye Adams on her How To Be 60 podcast he is ‘very happy’ in his new relationship with Tanya, 56, someone who is ‘very understanding’.

He said: ‘She’s a wonderful lady who knew Barbara. It can’t be easy to be with someone who was the other half of Barbara Windsor, especially the fact that I still put myself out there and talk about her.

‘So, it says to me the type of person that Tanya is, that she can deal with that.  She’s very sure of herself as a person. Just because you’re not with someone for whatever reason, it doesn’t mean to say that you just switch off some valve of love.’

Scott was Barbara’s third husband, and they married in 2000.

Anne-Marie has previously spoken about her affection for the number seven and what it represented in her life.

She said: ‘When you see double numbers, your angels are supposed to be with you and seven is my favourite number. Because of where the mirror is, when I look in the mirror I see it.’

On Thursday it was revealed that Anne-Marrie married her rapper boyfriend Slowthai nearly two years ago, according to new reports.

The Kiss My songstress had previously sparked speculation she had tied the knot after she was pictured wearing a diamond ring on her finger in Notting Hill in March last year and continued wearing it over summer.

Anne-Marie is said to have married Slowthai, 29, whose real name is Tyron Kaymone Frampton, in secret in Las Vegas during a break from her tour.

‘Anne-Marie and Slowthai got married in secret two years ago,’ a source told The Sun.

‘She had an eight-week break from her tour and they went to Las Vegas and got married.’

Insiders added Anne-Marie’s record label have voiced concerns Slowthai’s upcoming trial could impact her female-friendly image.

MailOnline has contacted Anne-Marie and Slowthai’s representatives for comment.

The couple were first spotted together on night out in May 2022.

Tyron faces trial before July 1 having been accused of raping a woman twice in September 2021 following a concert that took place in Oxford during a UK tour.

The Northampton-born rapper appeared before the city’s magistrates last May.

He has ‘categorically denied’ the claims, however, he was removed from the Glastonbury, and Reading and Leeds Festival line-ups after his court appearance.

His stage name originates from his childhood nickname – Frampton had a speech impediment which caused him to speak slowly and with a drawl.

Slowthai is associated with ‘gritty and rough instrumentals and raw, politically charged lyrics.’

He rose to popularity in 2019 and has previously centred his songwriting around Brexit and Theresa May’s tenure as Prime Minister.

His first album Nothing Great About Britain was nominated for a Mercury prize in 2019 and reached the Top 10.

In December a row broke out after he was put forward for three BRIT Awards amid his upcoming trial.

He made the long lists for Album of the Year, Artist of the Year and Hip Hop/Grime/Rap Act respectively ahead of the ceremony in March. He was included in the long list as he has released music within the eligibility period.

Don’t Send Jacob Rees-Mogg on a Secret Mission: A Review of The Rise and Fall of Boris Johnson by ROLAND WHITE

The Rise And Fall Of Boris Johnson

    Rating:

Say what you like about Boris Johnson, but politics was much more lively and entertaining when he was around.

Who now has his optimism? Or his colourful way with words? And let’s not forget the electrifying effect he had on the campaign trail, and the idea that anything seemed possible.

The Rise And Fall Of Boris Johnson (Ch4) was well-timed, amid speculation that the former Prime Minister might be making a comeback.

But it was also a reminder that his ebullience and charm conceals a complicated personality.

‘People knew he was a chancer,’ said broadcaster and Daily Mail columnist Andrew Neil, ‘but for a while it didn’t seem to matter.’

Believe it or not, that was one of the kinder verdicts because this was a portrait that went big on amateur psychology.

‘He is very needy,’ said biographer Andrew Gimson. ‘He doesn’t like being alone. He wanted the approval of liberal-minded women.’

U.S. businesswoman Jennifer Arcuri, who had an affair with Boris, spoke of his emotional insecurity and recalled his seduction technique.

‘I really want to date you,’ he said. Playing hard to get, she warned: ‘I’m high maintenance.’

‘What?’ said Boris, alarmed. ‘Handbags and s***?’

Even more serious matters had moments of comedy. When Boris was forming his first cabinet, he asked Gavin Williamson’s advice about possible Chancellors. Appoint a friend, he advised.

The Prime Minister replied: ‘I don’t have that many friends in politics.’

When Boris wanted to suspend Parliament, he sent Jacob Rees-Mogg to Balmoral on a secret mission to seek royal approval.

Was Rees-Mogg the right person for the job? Because the mission stopped being secret the moment that the gangly, bespectacled, very distinctive figure arrived at Heathrow Airport.

As we all know, the courts stopped the Government from suspending Parliament, and so he took a characteristic risk and called an election, winning the biggest Conservative majority since 1987.

That was his finest hour, but that majority might have been smaller had the public seen the relaxed and amusing Jeremy Corbyn on display here.

The former Labour leader recalled speaking to Boris on the phone during the campaign. ‘My hand is going to be firmly tied to the oar,’ said Boris, ‘driving the boat forward.’

‘If one hand is tied to one oar,’ Corbyn pointed out, ‘the boat will be going round in circles.’

‘Good point,’ replied the PM, who then said something in ancient Greek about boats and circles. That was surely the oddest conversation between party leaders in British election history.

It was left to Matt Hancock to sum up the post-election mood for an end-of-episode cliffhanger (although we all know what happened).

‘There was not a cloud on the horizon,’ he said. ‘We had five years to sort out all sorts of problems. It was going to be great . . . then it wasn’t.’

Paddy McGuinness stands by Question Time appearance, believes it was a chance for working class perspectives to shine despite BBC criticism

Paddy McGuinness has defended his Question Time appearance – after the BBC faced ‘dumbing down’ backlash over his booking.

The comedian and presenter, 50, was recently invited onto the flagship debate show commonly featuring heavyweight politicians and media figures to answer questions from the audience on major issues of the day.

After the former Take Me Out host went on the show the decision to feature him was branded ‘bizarre’ by viewers on X, with one accusing the BBC of ‘reaching a new low of dumbing down’.

Now he has defended the appearance as he spoke on Monday’s Good Morning Britain.

The star said he ‘couldn’t say no’ to going on going as it was a great opportunity to get working class voices heard because ‘politicians need to be held to account’.

He explained: ‘When I got asked to go on, it’s the sort of programme that is terrifying. But it would have really irked me if hadn’t have done it. It wouldn’t have sat easy with me.

‘Being working class people look at you as as the place you are from as you still speak like them – if I hadn’t have done it then you’re not getting people’s voice across.

‘Rightly or wrongly. I’m not even a very political person but I think things like the NHS, you don’t have to be a political person, we all use it and our families use it and everyone knows the state it’s in at the minute so I felt I had a bit of an input with that.

‘But if they’d have asked me about trade deals in China or whatever I would have said you’re speaking to the wrong person. I was sweating buckets, I was terrified. But I couldn’t say no to it. It’s important on shows like that to have everyone’s voice heard.’

Celebrities have appeared on Question Time in the past, including Love Island’s Amy Hart.

Paddy, who has also presented Question of Sport, caused a stir when he claimed on the show he ‘admired’ the timing of Sir Keir Starmer’s latest U-turn and stuck the boot into the Tories.

Simon Trimnell wrote in reaction to the booking: ‘Paddy McGuinness really? BBC are scraping the barrel for panelists, time for the plug to be pulled on QT.’

Another viewer said: ‘Why is Paddy McGuinness on Question Time? Is it another show that the BBC wants to get cancelled?’

He explained: ‘When I got asked to go on, it’s the sort of programme that is terrifying. But it would have really irked me if hadn’t have done it. It wouldn’t have sat easy with me’

Others were more equivocal, with one questioning the wisdom of booking McGuinness before saying he was pleasantly surprised by his contribution.

‘Never thought I’d say this, but Paddy McGuinness has come across very well on Question Time,’ they wrote.

‘I mean, it’s a bizarre booking don’t get me wrong, but he’s certainly not embarrassed himself & he’s expressed far more sensible views than many other ”celebrity” bookings in the past.’

It’s not the first controversial booking for Question Time. In 2020, the actor Laurence Fox launched his political career on the show after entering a slanging match with an academic about Meghan Markle.

The former Lewis star accused Rachel Boyle, an academic at Edge Hill University on Merseyside, of ‘being racist’ after she called him ‘a white privileged male’ for denying the Duchess of Sussex was hounded from Britain for being mixed-race.

Meanwhile, in 2021, it was the turn of former Love Island star turned influencer Amy Hart – prompting one person to post that her appearance ‘sums up everything that is wrong with this country’.

A second added: ‘And what actual qualifications does Amy Hart have. Influencer & Love Island! FFS!’

During her appearance on the political debate show, the reality star called for police reform in the wake of the Sarah Everard murder case.

Paddy was joined by a panel including James Daly, the new Deputy Chair of the Conservatives and Wes Streeting, Labour’s spokesman for health and social care.

The TV host weighed in after Fiona Bruce questioned the panel about Sir Keir Starmer’s decision to ditch a flagship pledge to spend £28billion a year on green projects – which critics perceived as another embarrassing climbdown.

She asked: ‘With Labour dropping their flagship election promise, can we believe anything they pledge?’

Paddy answered: ‘I see myself as a floating voter and I think in this day in age, certainly the past five years or so, politics seems to have been led by personality.

‘And if you look at Boris Johnson and how he did it to get into power – and that’s a prime example – then my worry with Keir Starmer is what he’s said today. I don’t know the ins and outs of it, but I almost kind of admire him for doing it now. Rather than after getting into power.’

He then launched into a passionate critique of the Conservatives, claiming they had ‘decimated’ the country over the past 14 years. This he said, made Labour a ‘shoo-in’ to win the next election.

He added: ‘I’ll be flabbergasted if they don’t get in. And I think him saying that, for me personally, well I’d hate for him to say that after he got in power. And then you feel even more let down.

‘But with regards to the climate crisis, most people, most taxpayers, kind of do their bit – you’ve got every colour bin outside your house, you put solar panels on your roof. And you do all the things you can try and to do help. But at the end of the day it’s up to these lot, the government and big business. It’s not on us. It’s these lot who need to get their act together.’

Some viewers were quick to take to social media to praise the comedian’s comments.

One wrote: ‘@bbcquestiontime Thank the lord for #PaddyMcguinness the voice that speaks for the common person. No bull, no fancy words. Give him the floor please.’

‘Paddy McGuinness…the most honest panelist for a long, long time! Well done. #bbcqt’, another said.

A third added: ‘Pleasantly surprised by the omnipresent Paddy McGuinness tonight – wasted on QoS should have been on QT all along.’

Not all viewers were impressed with the Take Me Out star’s appearance on the show, however.

Writing on X, one viewer said: ‘And what exactly is Paddy McGuinness bringing to the table? I always thought the ‘idiot northerner’ schtick was an act but clearly not. #bbcqt’.

A second added: ‘#bbcqt oh dear, what the hell…Paddy McGuinness on QT? This has got to be a wind up. Careful Fiona, he’ll cancel your show like all the others he’s been on. I switched over.’

‘@bbcquestiontime WTF is Paddy McGuinness doing On QT? No likey no lighty is just about his capabilities!’ a third quipped.

Elsewhere on the show, Paddy quizzed the new deputy chairman of the Conservative Party, James Daly and questioned the notorious failed promise of £350 million for the NHS after Brexit.

He quipped: ‘Lucky for me, most people know I’m not here for my great political brain. But that didn’t stop Boris Johnson, so that’s alright.’

Leading on a more serious note however, he continued: ‘For me, James, you saying to Wes that Sir Keir Starmer is doing anything to get a vote is a bit rich coming from a Tory, let me tell you. We’re still waiting on the £350million a week Boris Johnson promised us for the NHS.’

Saying: ‘It’s so prevalent among women to feel uncomfortable about their success and what they are doing. So on that note I am not going to be so embarrassed by those things any more’

Georgia was friends with Nigel before landing him the deal  and dated his former aide, the financier George Cottrell – known as ‘Posh George’.

An ITV insider said at the time: ‘It was certainly a first, a former I’m A Celeb winner brokering a deal for another contestant.

‘Nigel has been offered the chance to go to the jungle several times but Toff has made it happen this time. Everyone involved in the deal is thrilled’.

It comes after Georgia took to parliament with her beloved dog Monty to campaign against glycotoxins in animal food on Thursday morning.

She has launched a campaign to get glycotoxins, otherwise known as AGEs, removed from dry dog food, in an effort to protect dogs all over the UK from their harmful effects.

‘And Great Britain is a nation of dog lovers. I am fortunate to have this platform, I have educated myself to know enough about this subject, and I do think I’m the right person to lead this charge.

‘It’s scary and I’m nervous to take on these big dog food companies, but I do feel like it’s time to get our dogs healthy again.

‘This isn’t about getting dogs all over the country to start eating Wild Pack. This is so much bigger than just my business: it’s about us sticking up for our dogs, who stick by our sides through thick and thin.’

According to Wild Pack, glycotoxins occur as a result of the dehydration process required to make kibble, the dry biscuit-style dog food found in households all over the UK.

They contribute to a litany of ailments, including lethargy, extreme dehydration and even certain cancers.

Georgia is now calling on manufacturers of dry dog food to remove glycotoxins entirely from their products, in the hopes that it will ensure Britain’s pooches can live longer, healthier lives.
