Bristol Palin reveals sobriety journey while battling life-altering condition

Amid her life-altering battle with facial paralysis, Bristol Palin has shared a shock revelation with fans.

The daughter of Sarah Palin, 34, revealed on Monday that she’s been sober from alcohol for an entire year.

It marks the first time that Bristol has openly discussed her relationship with alcohol and her sobriety journey.

Bristol celebrated the milestone in a now-expired text post uploaded to her Instagram Story.

‘365 days without alcohol.. *which sounds dramatic because I’ve never been a big “drinker,”‘ wrote the influencer, who boasts over 550,000 followers.

Bristol went on to say that she prefers navigating life with a ‘completely sober mind’ and she recommended her fans do the same.

She continued: ‘But this year of having a completely sober mind has allowed me to reevaluate a lot. I don’t want to alter the state of my mind, and don’t want to ‘take the edge off’ of anything. 10/10 would recommend.’

One day after revealing she’s one-year sober, Palin returned to Instagram to provide an update on her facial paralysis, which she’s been battling for 10 weeks.

The mystery condition has left her with ‘no muscle movement’ on the left half of her face.

And as of Tuesday, Bristol reported that she’s experienced little improvement in the last 71 days.

‘this feels so vain to talk about, but here’s the update.. 71 days and my face is still half paralyzed,’ wrote Bristol, who included footage of herself struggling to make facial expressions.

She also spoke in the video about getting ‘nerve blocks’ in her neck and back during her recent visit to Alaska.

According to the Cleveland Clinic, nerve blocks are an ‘injection of medication close to a targeted nerve or group of nerves to provide temporary pain relief.’

Bristol believes that the injections ‘have improved’ her condition and she is experiencing ‘a lot less’ of a pulling sensation in her face and neck.

While she is now able to move her left eyebrow ‘a little,’ Bristol said that’s the extent of the improvement.

She concluded her update by revealing her plans to return to Alaska in a few weeks to get ‘something more extreme because this is a very bad case [of facial paralysis].’

Bristol first revealed her shock ailment in January.

She said that the first sign something was wrong was when she noticed that her face had suddenly started ‘pulling’ to the left.

‘I woke up nine days ago with a little weird sensation in my face – my mouth was pulling [to the left], and it just felt a little off,’ she said in a January 29 Instagram video. ‘Within a couple of hours, the entire left side of my face was numb and just paralyzed,’ she said at the time.

She said she couldn’t blink her eye and ‘definitely had no movement on the side of [her] face.’

At the time, Bristol said that her doctor believed she had a case of Bell’s palsy — which is temporary paralysis or weakness of the facial muscles — as the tests she underwent turned up ‘nothing.’

Since then, the mother-of-three has been doing acupuncture ‘4 times a week’ as part of her ongoing search for a cure.

Bristol’s recent Alaska trip wasn’t entirely medical related.

She was also there to visit her son Tripp, 16, who moved to Alaska last year to live with his father and Bristol’s ex-fiance Levi Johnston.

During the trip, Bristol got to see Tripp attend his first prom.

On Monday, the proud mom uploaded a photo of Tripp, rocking a navy blue suit and Nike sneakers, twirling around his prom date before heading to the dance.

‘tripp had prom this weekend, how is this even possible [smiling teary-eyed emoji,’ Bristol captioned the post.

Bristol is based in Texas with her other two kids — daughters Sailor Grace, eight, and Atlee Bay, seven — who she shares with ex-husband Dakota Meyer, 36.

She revealed that Levi had moved out of their Texas home in an August 2024 Instagram post.

Bristol had posted an image of her two daughters on the doorstep of their house to commemorate their first day of school, while detailing the changing dynamic in her family.

The Wasilla, Alaska native posted an image of her younger two daughters in the post, with text explaining how she’s dealing with the move.

‘This has been the hardest ‘first day of school’ yet with one of the biggest pieces of my heart missing,’ Bristol said. ‘Tripp has decided to finish out high school in Alaska to be closer to his dad and our entire family.

‘If you know Tripp, you know he lives for hunting/fishing and I honestly can’t blame him for wanting to be back home.’

Bristol said she was doing her best to cope with the change. ‘As hard as it is has been to come to this decision – it’s truly not about what I want,’ she penned.

Bristol cited her son growing older and the value of him spending time with his father in explaining how she’s handling the family issue.

‘He’s almost 16 years old and that relationship with his dad is a lot more important than my own selfish desires of having him with his mama forever!’ Bristol said.

Over the weekend, Bristol got to see her son Tripp, 16, attend his first prom in Alaska, where he now lives with his dad Levi Johnston

90s kids left devastated as mastermind behind legendary children’s show dies aged 58

David Steven Cohen, the mastermind behind the beloved television cartoon Courage The Cowardly Dog, has died at the age of 58.

His friend Jerry Beck, a historian of animation, broke the news on Facebook and revealed Cohen succumbed to cancer.

Courage The Cowardly Dog ran from 1999 to 2002, becoming an instant classic among American children for its blend of the adorable and the macabre.

The title character is an easily frightened pup living in a desolate farmhouse and coming into contact with all manner of fearsome creatures like zombies and aliens.

As the head writer of the series, Cohen oversaw a unique mélange of light children’s entertainment, dark comedy, horror and science fiction.

He also wrote on a variety of other cartoon series like Phil Of The Future and Arthur, and scripted the animated film Balto about a real-life heroic husky in Alaska.

As news spread of Cohen’s death, fans began sharing their grief on social media, posting messages like: ‘Thank you for making our childhood awesome’ and ‘thanks for giving me a good child hood bro.’

‘RIP David Steven Cohen,’ wrote one X user with a broken heart emoji. ‘The genius who gave us Courage the Cowardly Dog, a show that made my childhood unforgettable. Thank you for the memories!’

‘It’s a sad day for Courage the Cowardly Dog fans out there, for he will always be remembered,’ wrote another, adding a heart.

Cohen won a Daytime Emmy Award for the 2010s cartoon Peg+Cat, in the category of Outstanding Writing in a Preschool Animated Program.

He also earned two Primetime Emmy nods as a member of the writing staffs of the classic cartoon Arthur and The Wubbulous World of Dr. Seuss.

‘R.I.P. David Steven Cohen – I just heard that my friend has passed from cancer,’ Jerry Beck wrote on Facebook on Sunday. ‘He was an accomplished writer, composer, producer – animation lover and friend.’

Beck hailed Cohen’s work on live action shows like Pee-Wee’s Playhouse, Alf and Parker Lewis Can’t Lose, as well as his ‘hilarious work on FUNNY animated series like ALF TALEs, COURAGE THE COWARDLY DOG, and many others) – and the feature film, BALTO – among much else.’

Concluding his tribute to his late friend, Beck wrote: ‘What a great guy. A true friend to all. You did good, David. You won’t be forgotten.’

Cartoon Network, the channel that carried Courage The Cowardly Dog, also paid tribute to Cohen on their Instagram page.

‘Thank you, David, for your work on the strangely beautiful world of Courage, lovingly adding to our childhood trauma while teaching poignant life lessons,’ they wrote.

‘How you’ve brought to life a scared but courageous little dog reminds us that we can do anything, even if we’re afraid. Rest well.’

Early in his career, Cohen wrote on live action shows including Weird Science and the black sitcom Living Single, which is now often cited as a major influence on Friends.

However his most enduring legacy is in cartoons, especially his stewardship of Courage The Cowardly Dog, which helped shape the sensibilities of millennials.

Cohen also wrote the 1995 animated film Balto, produced by Steven Spielberg, which dramatized the real story of a husky who led a transport of medicine through a brutal winter to rescue the town of Nome, Alaska from a diphtheria outbreak in 1925.

He worked as a television producer as well, including on Amy Sedaris’ acidic sitcom Strangers With Candy, which was an early career highlight for Stephen Colbert.

Bristol Palin turns to extreme treatment in bid to ‘smile again’ after losing muscle movement in face

Bristol Palin shared that she is ready to try a drastic treatment amid her battle with facial paralysis, as she gave fans another health update on Monday.

The 34-year-old daughter of former Alaska governor and 2008 vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin revealed she still has ‘no muscle movement’ in her face, seven weeks after her health issue began.

In a car video shared to her Instagram Stories, Bristol removed her sunglasses and demonstrated her ongoing facial paralysis by attempting, unsuccessfully, to close both eyes.

‘We are day 49. Still no muscle movement. I cannot believe it’s been seven weeks since this craziness started,’ she said.

‘I’ve done everything. Tried everything. Taken everything and nothing has improved it,’ the former Dancing With the Stars contestant added.

‘I think I might go try this crazy nerve block. It’s like a nerve block somewhere in your neck. I’ve heard a couple success stories on it. I’m willing to try anything because I’m getting very impatient.’

‘Seven weeks. Day 49. Hopefully something changes soon,’ she added.

Bristol followed it up with a snap of herself and a friend smiling, and wrote, ‘wow I can’t wait to be able to smile again.’

Nerve block treatments can help alleviate pain and address issues like facial muscle spasms and dystonia associated with facial paralysis, according to the National Library of Medicine.

Last month, Bristol posted another update and revealed she is uncertain about what the ‘future holds’ as she described how she had tried ‘everything imaginable’ to resolve the issue.

‘If I just keep my mouth shut, it’s not as noticeable,’ she began in video posted to her Instagram Stories. ‘We are day 35, officially five weeks since the left side of my face went paralyzed.

‘I still have no muscle movement on the left side. I don’t really feel much. I’ve done everything imaginable to resolve this. I’m not sure what else I should do. But, I’ve spent the last 35 days, doing something every single day to try to fix this, and nothing has helped so far.

‘So I’m not sure what the future holds. But this is the update. Day 35. Still no muscle movement,’ Bristol said.

The treatments Bristol had been attempting included acupuncture.

She shared a selfie taken during one of the sessions, which showed an array of needles all over her face.

‘I have been going 4 times/week,’ she wrote in the photo.

Bristol in January said on the social media platform that doctors speculated she might have Bell’s palsy – which is temporary paralysis or weakness of the facial muscles – after undergoing a series of tests following symptoms.

‘I woke up nine days ago with a little weird sensation in my face – my mouth was pulling [to the left], and it just felt a little off. Within a couple of hours, the entire left side of my face was numb and just paralyzed,’ she said at the time.

She said she couldn’t blink her eye and ‘definitely had no movement on the side of [her] face.’

A number of notable names have past received diagnoses of Bell’s palsy, including George Clooney, Angelina Jolie, The Bachelorette alum Emily Maynard Johnson and iconic pro wrestling announcer Jim Ross.

Bristol is mother to three children: son Tripp, 16, with ex Levi Johnston, 34; and daughters Sailor Grace, nine, and Atlee Bay, seven, with ex-husband Dakota Meyer, 36.

Beyond the campaign, her relationship with Johnston remained in the public eye amid a pair of engagements before they eventually split for good.

Bristol has been keeping fans updated on her facial paralysis over social media and previously dismissed claims it was caused by the COVID vaccine, Botox, and lip fillers.

‘I’ve seen so much speculation about what this is caused by,’ she said last month.

‘So many people are trying to blame the Covid vaccine,’ Bristol said. ‘I never had the Covid vaccine,’ perhaps in support of her mother, who was vehemently against it during the pandemic.

She also dismissed suggestions it was caused by Botox or lip fillers.

‘I haven’t had filler in years. I had lip filler years ago,’ the former Dancing with the Stars contestant admitted, as she pointed to her mouth.

‘I haven’t done that in a long time too, so, I don’t think it’s caused by those.’

She then went to on to explain that ‘Bell’s Palsy can be set off by stress. I’m stressed, I probably don’t sleep that great, so it’s definitely eye opening for that aspect, but it’s super simple, that’s likely what it’s caused by.’

Bristol Palin spoke about her ongoing bout with facial paralysis in an Instagram Stories clip Wednesday.

The Wasilla, Alaska-born reality star, 33, spoke about her ongoing health battle while she was seated in a vehicle clad a green sweatshirt with gold hoop earrings and her hair tied back.

Palin explained to her followers what she was going through, as the health crisis hit the three-week mark.

‘We’re on 23 of this, which is absolutely insane,’ she said. ‘Can’t move the left side of my face at all. It’s really hard to blink. I can’t blow out a candle. My sisters makes so much fun of me because I look crazy.’

Bristol previously said that there was one dance professional on Dancing With the Stars who she didn’t get along with very well.

Bristol appeared on the Sex, Lies, and Spray Tans podcast with one-time DWTS professional Cheryl Burke, where she spoke about her experience on the ABC ballroom competition.

Bristol Palin spoke about her ongoing bout with facial paralysis in an Instagram Stories clip Wednesday.

The Wasilla, Alaska-born reality star told Burke, 40, that during her time on the show’s 11th season in 2010, she felt ‘tension’ emanating from one of the show’s stalwart dance pros.

Bristol – the daughter of former Alaska governor and 2008 vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin – would go on to finish third in the competition as she was paired with pro dancer Mark Ballas, 38.

Bristol said that she had tension with Maksim Chmerkovskiy, 44, who she said would roll his eyes during the segments in which she would get saved from being eliminated despite other pairs getting better scores from the judges.

‘Maks? He hated me so much,’ Bristol said of Chmerkovskiy, who had been paired up with singer Brandy that season. They finished fourth, while Dirty Dancing star Jennifer Grey and Derek Hough went on to win.

Asked by Burke what the issue was between her and Chmerkovskiy, Bristol said, ‘I don’t know, probably just because we kept going through.’

Bristol said Chmerkovskiy had been ‘real nice at the beginning,’ but things got progressively more pointed the further she advanced through the competition, and that she ‘definitely felt the tension from’ the Ukraine-born dance pro.

She added, ‘I forgot about that.’

Chmerkovskiy’s rep told Entertainment Weekly in a statement: ‘Maks doesn’t hate anybody. For [Palin] to say that would be a mischaracterization of his feelings.

‘I think he and everyone else in America, 14 years ago, thought that he and Brandy were on their way to winning that year, if not coming into the finals.’

Chmerkovskiy’s rep said that ‘there was a bit of disappointment when she leapfrogged him into the finals … it’s a competition. He’s very competitive and took it seriously.’

Bristol would go on to return to the ballroom floor two years later for the show’s lone Dancing with the Stars: All-Stars season that aired in 2012.

Again paired with Ballas, the duo finished in ninth place, with The Bachelor alum Melissa Rycroft emerging victorious.

‘I felt like I was just eating even more and gaining even more weight. It was just like a vicious cycle and it affected my confidence so much for years to come because it was such a topic.’

She cited an instance in which comic Kathy Griffin called her the ‘white version of Precious,’ referring to Oscar-nominated actress Gabourey Sidibe, 41.

Said Bristol: ‘It was all over the news for a while. It just bugs me so bad because I would be so upset if somebody was talking about my daughter like that. Obviously I knew I was gaining weight, and just for her to say something like that was, “Oh, OK.”‘

In a caption on Instagram, Burke said she wanted to express her ‘gratitude and admiration’ for the ‘candid conversation’ they engaged on on her podcast.

Bristol earlier this month said she was leaning on her faith amid a difficult time as her eldest child Tripp Johnston has moved back to the family’s native Alaska to live with his father – her former fiancé Levi Johnston – and his current spouse Sunny Johnston.

After Bristol, who is currently based out of Austin, Texas, revealed the teenager moved in with his father, she shared a devotional from a Gospel book titled New Morning Mercies: A Daily Gospel Devotional on her Instagram Stories August 15.

The post came as Levi’s wife Sunny Johnston, 32, shared a shot of Tripp, 15, and Levi, 34, hunting while declaring how Tripp’s move marked a ‘dream’ scenario for both father and son.

‘Well! According to my news feed, cats out of the bag,’ Sunny said. ‘Yes, Tripp is living full time in our home in Alaska. We couldn’t be happier he’s getting to live out his dream of living with his dad!

‘This has been Levi’s dream as well. It’s been a surreal feeling to be a complete family for longer than just school breaks like it has been for years.’

Bristol is mother to three children: son Tripp with Johnston, and daughters Sailor Grace, eight, and Atlee Bay, seven, with ex-husband Dakota Meyer, 36.

Sunny posted an image of Tripp, who is headed into 10th grade, alongside his three sisters Breeze, 13, Indy Rae, eight, and Delta Jo, five, with their respective classes on the ‘first day of school.’

She posted an image of her two daughters on the doorstep of their home to commemorate their first day of school on Wednesday, while detailing the changing dynamic in her family.

Bristol posted an image of her younger two daughters in the post, with text explaining how she’s dealing with the move.

‘This has been the hardest “first day of school“ yet with one of the biggest pieces of my heart missing,’ Bristol said. ‘Tripp has decided to finish out high school in Alaska to be closer to his dad and our entire family.

‘If you know Tripp, you know he lives for hunting/fishing and I honestly can’t blame him for wanting to be back home.’

Bristol said she was doing her best to cope with the change. She said, ‘As hard as it is has been to come to this decision – it’s truly not about what I want.’

Bristol cited her son growing older and the value of him spending time with his father in explaining how she’s handling the family issue.

‘He’s almost 16 years old and that relationship with his dad is a lot more important than my own selfish desires of having him with his mama forever!’ Bristol said.

Bristol said she was still highly emotional about the situation, and hoping for as seamless a transition as possible.

‘I can’t talk about it yet without crying,’ Bristol said, ‘but selfishly praying for a quick year and easy transition for us.’

Bristol was thrust into the national limelight in 2008 amid her mother’s vice presidential campaign alongside then Republican presidential candidate, late Arizona Sen. John McCain.

She appeared at the Republican National Convention in September 2008 alongside Johnston, as her pregnancy with Tripp when she was 17 made headlines, amid her mother’s swift rise to political prominence as McCain’s running mate.

Beyond the campaign, her relationship with Johnston remained in the public eye amid a pair of engagements before they eventually split for good.

Bristol made headlines in 2009 when she signed on for a $262,500 position to serve as an abstinence ambassador for a teen pregnancy prevention organization called The Candie’s Foundation.

‘Abstinence is the only way you can effectively 100 percent prevent pregnancy,’ Bristol said in a 2009 Good Morning America appearance. ‘It’s the safest choice and it will prevent teen pregnancy and a lot of heartache.’

Bristol in March of 2015 revealed she was engaged to Dakota Meyer, a Medal of Honor winner as a Marine. After calling off their engagement, they wed in 2016, prior to Meyer filing for divorce in 2018.

In her 2011 book Not Afraid of My Life, Bristol dubbed Levi a ‘gnat’ who had ‘stolen her virginity’ after she had been consuming alcohol.

Appearing on Good Morning America in June of 2011, Bristol clarified she was ‘not accusing Levi of date rape or rape at all.

‘I’m looking back with adult eyes and thinking, that was a foolish decision,’ she said. ‘I should never have been underage drinking, and I should never have gotten myself into a situation like that.’

The statements triggered legal activity in which Johnston requested for hearings to be publicized ‘as a check against anyone’s need to be overly vindictive, aggressive, or malicious.’

Johnston said, ‘Not that Bristol would be that way, nor would I. But her mother is powerful, politically ambitious, and has a reputation for being extremely vindictive…So, I think a public case might go a long way in reducing Sarah Palin’s instinct to attack.’

Johnston in November of 2013 filed court docs to have joint custody of Tripp, saying it had been in the child’s best interests, after Bristol previously had been awarded full custody.

Bristol said that the court filing had been a move to impact child support payments, as he had been $66,000 behind on his slate at the time.

Bristol would again take Johnston to court saying that he had not demonstrated he was fit to be a parent.

Bristol said Johnston hadn’t had visits with a young Tripp, and squandered his earnings on vacations, luxury vehicles and hunting trips as opposed to his child support obligations.

In addition to her work on Dancing With the Stars, Bristol also appeared on the Lifetime TV series Life’s a Tripp and MTV’s Teen Mom OG in 2018.

A mother-of-four has revealed how she multi-tasks looking after her brood and running her online business.

Hannah Polites, one of the Gold Coast’s first true Insta-famous girls of the mid-2010s, shared a black-and-white photo taken on her hi-tech baby monitor to her Instagram Stories.

In the photo, Hannah is seen curled up around her youngest child inside of the crib.

Her one-year-old daughter Alaska appears to be wearing a matching onesie and is sleeping with her hand tucked into her mother’s chest.

Meanwhile, the 33-year-old is working on her phone from the fetal position, with her head touching one end of the toddler’s bed and her toes pressing against the other.

‘How I reply to your @babyccino enquiries,’ she captioned it with a laugh-crying emoji and a pink love-heart.

In addition to Alaska, Hannah is also raising Evaliah, seven, Arlo, five, and Oakleigh, three.

The fitness influencer once travelled the world and lived a life of ‘grammable’ luxury thanks to lucrative brand deals and sponsored posts.

These days, Hannah still makes a comfortable living from her sizeable online following of one million and baby clothing store, Babyccinobear.

The website retails ‘traditional’ baby and children’s clothes and keepsakes and sets of themed family pajamas.

She lives with her husband Garth Small and four young children in a sprawling family mansion in her native Queensland.

Hannah became insta-famous at the age of 26 after posting some photos of herself on the social media app while thinking it was just a photo editing tool.

Working for Lorna Jane at the time, her images became ‘fitspirational’ to some and were re-posted across the internet, leading her to take on blogging and sharing her life and fitness tips.

The mummy influencer and midwife once boasted more than 1.5 million Instagram followers.

Hannah was internationally renowned for her blonde hair, tanned skin, and bikini body and featured in Women’s Health and Cosmopolitan magazines on multiple occasions.

However, she lost hundreds of thousands of her  (mostly male) followers shortly after the birth of her first child, Evaliah, in 2016.

Bristol and Levi called off their engagement in March 2009, just three months after their son, Tripp, was born on December 27, 2008

Bristol documented her teen pregnancy in her book Not Afraid of My Life, in which she called Levi a ‘gnat’ who had ‘stolen her virginity’ while she was drunk. She later insisted on Good Morning America that she was ‘not accusing Levi of date rape or rape at all.’

‘I’m looking back with adult eyes and thinking, that was a foolish decision,’ she said. ‘I should never have been underage drinking, and I should never have gotten myself into a situation like that.’

That launched a round of court battles between the two, which started off bitterly and only got worse. In an initial affidavit, Levi asked for the hearings to be public ‘as a check against anyone’s need to be overly vindictive, aggressive, or malicious.’

He added: ‘Not that Bristol would be that way, nor would I. But her mother is powerful, politically ambitious, and has a reputation for being extremely vindictive…So, I think a public case might go a long way in reducing Sarah Palin’s instinct to attack.’

In November 2013, Levi filed court documents attempting to get 50/50 custody of Tripp. At the time, he argued it was in the little boy’s best interests to have his father around just as much as his mom.

Bristol, who had been awarded full custody by a previous judge, claimed the custody demand was an attempt by the former oilfield worker to reduce his child support payments.

Her lawyer alleged in court that Levi, who had appeared nearly naked in Playgirl after the split, owed $66,000 in back payments.

Shortly afterward, Bristol headed to court again, claiming Levi was an unfit parent, saying he had no regular visits with his firstborn and that rather than pay child support, he spent all his money on fancy cars, hunting, and extravagant trips.

However, Bristol made plenty of money from her own lucrative deals. She became a spokesman for the Candie’s Foundation — a non-profit dedicated to preventing teen pregnancy — after Tripp was born, receiving $262,000 in one year for her work, according to her tax returns.

She also appeared on Dancing With the Stars, wrote a 2011 memoir, and had a reality show, Life’s a Tripp, on Lifetime TV, which was canceled after one season. She also starred in Teen Mom OG in 2018.

Bristol used her newfound wealth to buy her first five-bedroom home in Arizona. By 2014, she was claiming she had not earned a penny in 18 months and pushed a judge to increase Levi’s child support payments to $1,750 a month.

Within weeks of that filing, it was Levi’s turn to increase the heat, asking a judge to find Bristol in contempt of court for taking Tripp out of Alaska without his permission. The former couple finally settled their child custody dispute over Tripp in 2016, seven years after their son was born.

Levi also has three daughters — Breeze Beretta, Indy Rae, and Delta Jo — with his wife, Sunny Johnston, née Oglesby, whom he married in 2012.

Bristol and Levi have had an easier time co-parenting in recent years.

Bristol is now pursing a career in real estate and has a clothing brand called Boyhart, which she promotes on Instagram.

Dancing With the Stars: Bristol Palin Reveals Pro Who ‘HATED’ Her

Bristol Palin said that there was one dance professional on Dancing With the Stars who she didn’t get along with very well.

Bristol, 33, appeared Sunday on the Sex, Lies, and Spray Tans podcast with one-time DWTS professional Cheryl Burke, where she spoke about her experience on the ABC ballroom competition.

Bristol said that appearing on the ABC competition buoyed her with confidence that she can ‘step out of my comfort zone’ and ‘put myself out there.’

On the podcast with Burke, Bristol said ‘it was really hard’ having her weight constantly speculated on during her run on the series.

‘I mean, my weight fluctuates,’ Bristol said. ‘It was like everyone was talking about my weight, and then I was stressed out about my weight.

Dancing With the Stars 33rd season is set to debut on ABC and Disney+ September 17, landing on Hulu the next day.

She posted an image of her two daughters on the doorstep of their home to commemorate their first day of school, while detailing the changing dynamic in her family

Bristol in March of 2015 revealed she was engaged to Dakota Meyer, a Medal of Honor winner as a Marine. After calling off their engagement, they wed in 2016, prior to Meyer filing for divorce in 2018. She has enjoyed other brief romances since, but appears to be currently single.

Bristol and Levi called off their engagement in March 2009, just three months after their son, Tripp, was born on December 27, 2008

Nick Mavar, Deadliest Catch Star, Dies at 59

Deadliest Catch star Nick Mavar has died aged 59.

The former deckhand on the F/V Northwestern passed away Thursday afternoon following a medical emergency in Naknek, Alaska, the Bristol Bay Borough Police Department confirmed to TMZ.

Mavar’s family has been notified and police are conducting interviews – but would not reveal the nature of the medical emergency.

He appeared in 98 episodes of Deadliest Catch from 2005 to 2021.

Mavar left the show after suffering a ruptured appendix – which was chronicled on one of his final episodes.

He sued Captain Sig Hansen and made claims there was a delay in getting outside medical treatment for him due to the pandemic.

Nick Mavar, Deadliest Catch Star, Dies at 59

Deadliest Catch star Nick Mavar has died aged 59 following a medical emergency

His complaint claimed that a ‘delay in competent and adequate examination, testing, and diagnosis’ led to a ruptured appendix as well as the discovery of a cancerous tumor.

‘The lack of a plan for outside medical care led to the ‘failure to assure plaintiff was promptly taken to the Dutch Harbor medical clinic for an examination and assessment of plaintiff’s medical condition,’ the original complaint claims. It also alleges that the delayed care caused the rupture, leading to infections, surgeries and cancer treatment that ‘would not have occurred had the appendix been removed prior to rupture.’

Hansen said the blame did not lie solely on him and cited the production company and the medical subcontractor.

In May 2023 Northwestern’s owners were seeking damages, legal and medical payments related to Mavar’s injuries.

In recent years Mavar had been captaining his own salmon boat in Alaska’s Bristol Bay

‘Finn was like a big, strapping dog, you know? And you, you’re like a very handsome couple,’ Drew explained.

‘And you guys would, like, play poker at night. And sometimes I would come and like, with Kristen Bell.’

Emily replied: ‘We were all in the same corridor. Do you remember? And we had to get Ted Danson up because he was down below and he felt really left out.’

‘The coolest guy ever it turns out,’ the Never Been Kissed star interjected.

‘Do you know Ted Danson still has a shoulder injury from Finn, like crashing into him like a football player. We would throw the ball up and down the corridor for Finn,’ Emily explained.

‘I remember there was no way to run him. I remember I would open my door, and there you would be with the ball and Finn,’ Drew said.

‘Luckily, you were all dog lovers on that corridor, but Ted, like popped out of his room one day and he goes “Finn” and Finn, just like shoulder checked him.

‘That’s how big this dog was,’ Drew said while Emily addressed the audience: ‘He was so big, you guys, he was amazing.’

Emily also had a story about filming The Fall Guy to share with Drew, her audience and her viewers about a floppy hat she wears in the movie.

‘I have to tell you the story behind the hat is that, what we would often do with Fall Guy ‘cos we wanted to improv a lot. We wanted it to feel really fresh,’ Emily explained.

‘But what I love about their relationship is just how awkward they are and completely, you know how sometimes you watch a love story and it’s so idealized,’ she said.

‘It’s that thing of in movies. You see it all the time where it’s like and then I would say this and then she would say this and then I would wittily respond with this. We didn’t want any of that. We wanted it really messy, really awkward.

‘And so the day before, we rehearsed that whole scene on the beach and I was wearing one of those stupid hats because I’m allergic to the sun, and, it kept blowing off,’ she said, setting the scene.

‘And Ryan was like, “You should wear that tomorrow.” And the hat became the first bonding.

While Emily was on The Drew Barrymore Show, her husband was on The Today Show promoting his film IF – which stands for ‘imaginary friends.’

The movie is about a girl who discovers she can see everyone’s forgotten imaginary friends.

‘It is a movie for my daughters and I’ve always wanted to make a movie for my kids, but I just didn’t know what to do,’ he said. ‘

And then I found myself spending hours in the threshold of a doorway watching them disappear into some magical world that us as parents aren’t invited into. And I just thought that would be a great movie.’

Krasinski said he noticed a change in how his girls’ played once the pandemic hit.

‘I started to see that they were doing fewer and fewer imaginary games. Their light seemed to be going out and you could see fear setting in and they said, “Daddy, are we going to be OK?” And I was like, stop. I got to make a movie about how that magical world you created; you can go back anytime you want,’ he shared.
