Cat Deeley removed her wedding ring as she stepped out in London amid her shock split from husband Patrick Kielty on Monday.

The This Morning host, 48, Irish comedian, 54, and who share sons Milo, seven, and James, five, revealed last month that they had taken the decision to end their 12 year marriage, stressing that ‘no other party’ was involved.

Cat appeared in high spirits as she opted to wear the dazzling diamond on her left hand in a pointed gesture that seemingly symbolised her new life chapter.

She looked effortlessly stylish while running errands near the former couple’s marital home, in a white shirt which she teamed with high-waisted flared jeans.

The stunner shielded her eyes behind gold rimmed aviator shades and accessorised with tan sandals and a matching handbag.

Meanwhile Patrick brokn his silence as he returned to his BBC Radio 5 Live show for the first time since their split on Saturday.

In a jovial mood upon his return to the airwaves Patrick joked about being overlooked for the role of Match of the Day host, following Mark Chapman, Gabby Logan and Kelly Cates replacing Gary Lineker.

He laughed: ‘It’s lovely to be back. We are coming to you from sunny Belfast and we’ve got Michael Andrew looking after things here. We’ve got Sammy and Craig looking after things in London’.

‘It takes a village folks to make this show sound so average, but it is not just me who is back, Oh no, what is this? It is a little welcome back letter from the head of the BBC’.

As the iconic Match of the Day theme played, Patrick read: ‘Dear Mr Kielty, thank you so much for your application to be a host on Match of the Day. Unfortunately every other host employed by the BBC is currently working hosting on this show therefore we don’t need your services. Don’t call us, we will call you, Tim Davie’.
