Carrie Bickmore has met one of her idols, and it was far from the picture-perfect moment she had hoped for.
The former TV star took to Instagram on Tuesday to share an image from her backstage meet and greet with Mariah Carey, who has been touring Australia as part of the Fridayz Live festival lineup.
However, the Aussie media personality appeared awkward in the snap, with the Obsessed hitmaker turning away from her as the picture was taken.
‘Awwks… but I couldn’t love it more,’ Carrie captioned the post, gushing over her brush with the mega pop star.
Many fans suggested in the comments section that the odd-looking photo was down to Mariah showing off her ‘good side’.
‘She was posing with her good side! So lucky!’ one person guessed.

Another added: ‘She didn’t snub you, you just chose to stand on the wrong side haha.’
Others were quick to point out that Mariah looked like a wax figure in the uncomfortable snap.

Mariah has performed an array of shows in Brisbane, Sydney, Perth and Melbourne over the past few weeks.
However, unhappy Australian music fans slammed her performance at the Sydney gig at ENGIE Stadium as somewhat lifeless and uninspired, questioning why Mariah appeared not to be giving her all on the night.
‘It was terrible! I felt really sorry for her. She looked really sad and unwell,’ one concertgoer exclusively told Daily Mail.
‘I couldn’t even buy her T-shirt because I felt sad, I bought a Fridayz T instead. I’m sure she was lip-syncing and she kept going off stage in between songs.’
They then questioned whether the six-time Grammy Award winner was in the best shape to be performing on the night.
‘When she talked, I personally couldn’t understand her. If she had her own concert, I wouldn’t pay to see her. I’m not being mean, I honestly am worried she’s unwell. She needs to look after herself,’ they said.
They then suggested there may be a reason behind Mariah’s reserved performance: ‘It’s like she couldn’t move or open her eyes fully. And she was always checking or reading or holding her earpiece.
‘She didn’t look comfortable. I’ve since seen she has arthritis and that makes sense.
‘Poor thing! She was as stiff as a board. Hardly smiled. And it’s like she couldn’t open up her eyes to look at the crowd. She kept her eyes down/closed. Looked like she was reading lyrics.’
Meanwhile, another person sniped on social media: ‘This was a tough act to watch, I left halfway through her set.’
‘Why is she walking in slow motion?’ a different fan asked.
