Carol Vorderman has opened up about how she deals with online trolling and one of the tips she uses to avoid receiving abuse from ‘misogynistic’ bullies.
The TV personality, 63, explained how she has muted five words on X – formerly known as Twitter – which she said filters some of the attacks.
Revealing what the words she has chosen to block are, Carol said she has muted ‘Botox, plastic, s**g, w***e and s**t’, in a bid to get rid of some abuse.
When asked what she does about trolls, Carol told Grazia: ‘I cop quite a lot of it but I pay no attention. I’ve had stalkers and helicopters flying my house. I was litigious to keep my two kids out of the public eye.
‘Misogyny is just a subsection of other bullying. On social media I mute certain words: Botox, plastic, s**g, w***e and s**t.

‘That gets rid of a lot of the ad hominem attacks. The vast majority out there are lovely. But there is a subset of nasty men and nasty women.’
Carol recently joined LBC radio to present a new Sunday programme which started last month.
The TV presenter was axed from her BBC Radio Wales show in November 2023 after she breached the broadcaster’s social media guidelines.
The former Countdown Star has claimed she will continue ‘to hold the corrupt to account’, after previously wowing to keep ‘calling out the disgusting Tories’ – after she was axed.
Carol has admitted that ‘she will carry on using her voice to cause a commotion’ in her upcoming weekend programme which airs January 14th from 4pm until 7pm.
She said: ‘I’m delighted to be joining LBC and the phenomenal stable of powerful voices on the station. More than ever, live radio is an incredibly important platform for news, so I’m looking forward to returning to a medium that I love.
‘And what a year 2024 is going to be for news and politics! On Sunday afternoon, I’ll be using my voice – as you might expect – to cause a commotion.
‘I won’t be shy to say things that others won’t and I’ll hold the corrupt to account without fear or favour.

‘And obviously I can’t wait to hear from the listeners – all of it, without apology or embarrassment; their worries, their joys, their ideas.
‘To quote Bob Dylan, ‘the times they are a-changin’ and I can’t wait to get started – bring it on!’
Carol has previously appeared as a guest presenter on LBC alongside Nick Ferrari, James O’Brien, Shelagh Fogarty, Andrew Marr, Tom Swarbrick, Iain Dale and Matt Frei.
LBC’s Managing Editor, Tom Cheal said: ‘Now more than ever, listeners want candid, intelligent debate where people are free to air their views openly.
‘LBC’s callers provide a unique insight into what people right across the country are thinking and feeling, and I’m delighted Carol will be debating the big issues with them each week.
‘Carol’s straight-talking and incisive opinion make her the perfect fit alongside what is already the UK’s best team of speech broadcasters, and I know she will help ensure LBC continues to lead the way as the home of the UK’s best opinion-led broadcasting.’
Carol had been accused of ‘flagrantly breaching’ the BBC’s impartiality rules with her online outbursts, which have included calling ministers ‘a lying bunch of greedy, corrupt, destructive, hateful, divisive, gaslighting crooks’.
