Candace Cameron Bure Explains Leaving LA Amid Celebrity Exodus

Candace Cameron Bure says that drastic changes in the makeup of her hometown of Los Angeles were key elements in her decision to move from the area – a growing trend with many celebs having left town already, or planning to.

‘I still love SoCal, but L.A. is certainly not the same since growing up there and especially since 2020,’ Cameron Bure, 49, said Thursday in a Q&A on Instagram, where she has more than 5.7 million followers.

The actress, best known for playing the role of D.J. Tanner on the 80s hit Full House and its reboot Fuller House, said that she preferred small town life to the hustle and bustle of the big city.

‘I also love living in a smaller town where people really do know your name ,’ said Candace, who was born in the Los Angeles-area suburb of Panorama City.

Candace clarified that people didn’t just know her name because she’s ‘on TV.’

She said that the ‘beauty’ of the smaller town where she currently calls home – she posted an accompanying image – played another key factor in her confidence in her decision to move out of Southern California.
