Candace Cameron Bure has always prided herself on avoiding cosmetic fillers like Botox in order to age more gracefully onscreen, but she still fights the temptation.
‘I know in my heart I want to age as beautifully as my mom, and I believe I will, but the industry that I’m in is making it so hard,’ the 49-year-old former child star confessed on her eponymous podcast last Tuesday.
‘As of today, I don’t have any [and] I’m not getting it today, but I’m thinking about it.’
Candace then proceeded to tell a story about how a director or special effects supervisor shocked her while discussing how they were going to ‘digitally de-age’ her 15 years for a flashback scene in an upcoming movie.
‘I’m supposed to be about 30 years old [in the flashback],’ Bure explained.
‘The cheeks, like, keep you young. So, my face is thinner and I’m, like, “Is there any way you can puff my cheeks up a little for this flashback too?” They’re like, “Okay, you know it all depends on money. More you do, the more it costs.

‘Every alteration is money. What we’re going to concentrate on is your forehead, your crow’s feet, around your mouth, your smile lines.” And I go, great.’
The two-time Daytime Emmy nominee continued: ‘And then he goes, “and your neck.” I was like “Wait, what?! What? My neck? You need to do something with my neck? I have never considered that my neck looks old, that my neck has aged.’
This ‘horrified’ Candace who quipped: ‘I didn’t even think about it! And then when he told me he’s gonna work on my neck, I’m like, “Oh, great. I’m going back to therapy! I’ve got another thing to think of! What is happening?!”‘
Bure understands that this is the reality of how she has to age in front of a lot of people as an actress.
‘And I know I choose this job. I love this job. And I want to be in it, but it’s a whole other psychological thing in my brain that I that I think about on a different level than I would say a lot of people do,’ the SoCal native noted.
The Masked Singer Cherry Blossom’s fellow former child star Danica McKellar reacted to a clip of the podcast on Instagram: ‘A lot of people struggle with their neck (like me!) but honestly I don’t see it on you!’
Candace is next scheduled to serve presenting duties at the 56th Annual GMA Dove Awards, which will take place October 7 at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, TN.
On November 11, Zondervan will publish Bure’s 208-page, 30-day devotional book Rise and Renew.
The Ainsley McGregor Mysteries producer-star will then kick off her four-date live tour at the Church at Liberty Square in Cartersville, GA on November 20.
The two-hour experience – featuring special guest Kira Stokes – is ‘filled with interactive games, prizes, heartfelt stories, and meaningful conversations rooted in faith.’

Acting-wise, Candace will co-star with her 27-year-old newlywed daughter Natasha Bure in Paula Elle’s holiday flick Timeless Tidings of Joy, which premieres November 13 on Great American Family.
Bure and her husband of 29 years, Valeri Bure, are also proud parents of 25-year-old son Lev Bure and 23-year-old son Maksim Bure.
The prolific podcaster, the 51-year-old retired NHL star, and their friend Joshua Peeples co-founded Bure Family Wines in the Napa Valley in 2006 and they appointed Lev as vice president.
Candace was only 19 when she first met Russian-born Valeri after being introduced by her Full House castmate Dave Coulier at a Los Angeles charity hockey game.
Speaking of which, Bure first found fame as D.J. Tanner in Jeff Franklin’s San Francisco-set sitcom, which aired for eight seasons on ABC spanning 1987-1995.
The Peter Lamas beauty ambassador then reprised her role in the Netflix continuation Fuller House, which aired for four seasons spanning 2016-2020.
Candace certainly had a leg up in showbusiness thanks to being the nepo sister of Growing Pains alum Kirk Cameron.
