Madame Tussauds Orlando has created a new life-size waxwork of Jeff Goldblum, and the resemblance is so uncanny that fans are completely flummoxed.
The museum posted an Instagram photo of the real Goldblum standing next to the statue, leaving viewers to guess in the comments which one was real.
One of them was dressed entirely in black including a leather jacket, bringing back memories of Goldblum’s role as Ian Malcolm in Jurassic Park.
Another was wearing a white ensemble that featured a long, flowing overcoat, redolent of Goldblum’s recent turn as the Wizard of Oz in the Wicked movies.Â
Incredulous social media users reacted to the photo with comments like: ‘this is the best madame tussaud i’ve ever seen. i legit don’t know which is the real one.’
So can you guess which one is Goldblum and which is the waxwork?
Madame Tussauds Orlando has created a new life-size waxwork of Jeff Goldblum, and the movie stare himself has posed next to the statue – but which is which?
The real Goldblum is the one dressed in white, pictured with his hand raised to his chin, while the waxwork is wearing head-to-toe black.
Intensifying the resemblance, the real Goldblum was wearing a pair of thick-rimmed black tinted spectacles that were an exact match for the ones on the statue.
Fans flocked to the comments section to share how impressed they were with Madame Tussauds’ work, wondering: ‘Which one is real?’
‘Shoot I really had to look closely to see which one is the real one and I’m still not sure?!’ marveled one fan, adding for good measure: ‘iconic.’
‘It’s actually really good. I had to do a double take to confirm which was the statue,’ wrote another as a third exclaimed: ‘Good job! Couldn’t tell which was the real him.’
‘Went to the comments to see which was the real one. Had to google since nobody here could tell…Â Jeff in black is the wax figure. They did a good job!!’ wrote a fourth.
Goldblum posed with the statue at its unveiling in Times Square this week, before the waxwork is shipped down to the Orlando location of Madame Tussauds.
He playfully conducted a mock interview with the figure, plugging his film as he asked: ‘How does it feel to have another Wicked movie coming out?’

Goldblum then recalled how he ‘used to get mixed up for other people’ during the earlier stages of his showbiz career, via Variety.
He joked that fans who come see his waxwork might think: ‘Hey, I think that’s Harold Ramis from Ghostbusters. Oh, no, it’s Bowzer for Sha Na Na.’
Goldblum added that ‘maybe some of the kids from school that I went to school with between first grade and 10th grade, that group of 20 kids from Pittsburgh, will find their way there and go: “That guy gets a statue? Wow, okay, there you go. Okay.”‘
The Earth Girls Are Easy actor added that he felt ‘a great honor’ at having been immortalized as a Madame Tussauds wax figure.
