He also shared a slew of snaps and videos from the event to his Instagram, revealing he had met Dick Van Dyke and the aftermath of being pelted with cream pies by attendees.
The Scream star was not just clowning around however, as David has been dressing up as Bozo for years and even owns the rights to the character.
The ‘World’s Most Famous Clown’ was created by Alan W. Livingston in 1946 and went on to take over the television world, from 1949.
David purchased the rights to Bozo the Clown from Larry Harmon Pictures back in 2021, becoming the clown’s first new owner in 65 years.
At the time, he explained he had made the decision due to his long-held love of Bozo since childhood and his desire to revive the character, even hoping to make a Bozo museum in Chicago.
Appearing on Chicago’s Channel 9 WGN Morning News, he said: ‘I fell in love with Bozo when I was a kid living in Evanston, Illinois.
‘Bob Bell’s portrayal of Bozo was always my favourite. It really just lit my heart up, and I want to bring that kind of joy to the people of the world — and Chicago specifically.
He added: ‘At one point there were 200 Bozos throughout America and Mexico and Brazil, so we really wanted to sort of replicate that. You have to kind of think of it as Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.’

In December that year, he also told the New York Times he wanted to present an alternative image of clowns that wasn’t scary, and bring back the silly and goofy side.
David said: ‘Bozo is my hero. We want to let that clown out. We first have to help rehabilitate the image of a clown.
‘I want to help bring back kind clowns, and change the discourse. You know, help people understand that being silly is cool.’
He went on: ‘There’s a lot of negative history. There was ‘Poltergeist.’ There was Stephen King and ‘It.’ That was a real problem. And then the Joker and Krusty the Clown.
‘Clowns are a reflection of society. And right now the scary clown is sort of where we are.’
David even been taking clown lessons and has been chronicling his journey to becoming a clown for fans on Instagram for several years.
In 2022, he opened up on his love of clowns and how hard he was working at becoming a professional one on the Live with Kelly and Ryan show.
He said: ‘I love clowns. I’ve been in sort of a clown period of my life. I’m studying to be a clown and I’m working with an amazing organization called Healthy Humor.

‘They go into hospitals and entertain people who are going through a tough time and make them smile and bring some joy and love and laughter into their lives.
He continued: ‘I personally am studying to be a clown myself. I have been taking lessons. It takes a lot of training.
‘You know I’ve never been able to juggle, but my father taught me a nose flute, and this is what I can do as my clown thing.’
David previously shared a photo with his wife and children joining him in clowning around.
He shares daughter Coco, 20, with his ex-wife, actress Courtney Cox and sons, Charlie, nine, and Gus, seven, with his current wife Christina McLarty Arquette.
